Tipping?

We tip mousekeepers. You can find decorated tip envelopes online or you can make them yourselves. Some mousekeepers are better than others and we tip accordingly. Other CM's are not allowed to/ will not accept tips. You can leave appreciative comments at guest services for the things they did to make a magical moment or for assisting you. They do get noticed and are very welcomed.

Hi all,do you tip your mousekeeping and other cast members who help you.Just one topic I haven't seen.Thank you for your info.
Thanks for question. We tip mousekeepers generously if they do a good job. But we do it after a few days and make sure it goes to the person cleaning our room and not the supervisors-who often enter the room before the mousekeepers. We give it to them personally. We often just ask for towels, coffee, and soap so are not all that high maintenance. We always have had excellent service.

We tip mousekeeping every day, since they may not be the same person every day of our stay. We also tip anyone from bell services who handle our bags when arriving and leaving. And, of course, we tip our servers at TS restaurants. That's about it. Most other CMs aren't allowed to accept tips . If we run across one who has been really helpful, or who impresses us for some reason, we fill out a comment card at Guest Relations. These can have an effect on their performance reviews.

No we don't tip mousekeeping. We make our own beds, empty our own trash if it's ever overflowing, bring our own towels and shampoo and stuff and keep the place tidy so we don't feel it is necessary as we've done their job for them which I'm sure they appreciate. We will opt out next time if that is still a thing.

Since we are DVC, we used to get trash and towel only every fourth day, and we tended not to tip since we usually had brought our own trash down anyway, so all they were doing was giving us fresh towels (no other service involved)

We do tip any bell people who help us unload or load the car, the amount depending on how much stuff we have

I tip mousekeeping and serves in TS restaurants. I don't tend do anyone one else but then wouldn't get into a situation where I needed to tip...Happy to carry my own bag.

We keep our room pretty clean; straighten the pillows, pull up the bed sheets/covers, etc. It's a European thing I suppose. I don't tip Mousekeeping (or other housekeeping).

Funny story. Last year we stayed at AKL and Mousekeeping was abysmal. Stray hair pin (not ours) on the floor, something else another day, things refilled erratically. Could that be chalked up to not tipping? Maybe. But if I have to pay extra for them to do their job, that's not right either. You earn a tip. You don't get one to do your job right in the first place.

That's a good tip, to make sure it doesn't go to the supervisors. I didn't even think that was a thing, them going in first. Thanks !

I put a tip in an envelope labeled 'for mousekeeping' under a pillow on the bed. I have had family members come back to the room mid day to find the tip left out on the nightstand gone but the room not made up yet. The room was made up later in the day but the tip likely went to a supervisor checking on the room, not the person cleaning the room. Maybe the tips are pooled, I don't know, but like to try and make sure they go to the right person.

not a tipper sorry but we also did the option to not have our room cleaned.

We found a olaf pez dispenser between the mattress and the box spring and other stuff not well cleaned when we got the room. so don't feel bad about not tipping.
