Time to book and need your help! To take or not to take the dining plan?

Hello everyone!

First question: In the past 3 years, I have been to Walt Disney World 3 times. May 2006, May 2007, January 2008. Now I plan to go back in March 2009. Is it too much! We sure want to go to other places (Cuba, Mexique, Punta Cana, etc), but Walt Disney is like a drug haha! Are we crazy to go back again ?

Pop Century with the 4 nights 3 nights off offer including 7 magic you way + hopper from March1st to March 8th (7 nights) is 1140.32$ without the dining plan and you get a 200$GC.

Same with the dining plan is 1700.18$ and yo get a 200$GC.

I must admit that last year, we have taken the dining plan and it was incredible, we manage to go eat almost everywhere we wanted and we were able to eat very good food.

However, since they give you a 200$ gift card. Do you think it would be better to take without dining and use the 200$ gift card for food and pay the balance, or should I just take the dining plan and enjoy 200$ of gifts in the parks.

Any help would be appreciated, I plan to book this offer tonight!

Im just scared going in march due to March Break, but I heard first week of march isn't that bad.. hope it,s true..

I don't think the $200 gift card can be used for food (merchandise only). The difference between the two prices is nearly $560, which comes to $80 per day for 7 days. I'd say that's an OK good deal for one person and a better deal if there are more in your party.

That price is for two. So the dining plan cost us 279.93$ for 7 days which is 39.99$ a day.

I like the DDP. For my husband and me, it offers a small savings. However, our perk is having the good prepaid.

No, you're not crazy. What do those other locations REALLY have to offer? More relaxation? Better Views? Islands? If you're really thinking you need something different, there is the Disney Cruise Line. I personally don't care to go anywhere else just for the sake of saying I've been there. Disney is TOTAL immersion and you completely forget about the outside world. That IS the definition of a good vacation.

I love the dining plan!
My family gets it every year. I can't imagine going without it now.

Since tip is no longer including in the dining plan, you could use the gift card to cover your tips throughout the week.

The dining plan is worth it if you eat at table service restaurants...We are trying that in a couple of weeks...sure we would have saved money just eating counter service the whole trip but we wanted to try something different...you're not crazy for going to WDW every year..that's what we have done for the past 6 years...everyone I work with thinks I'm nuts but I don't care...:lol:
