...maybe someone can help them find a course on 'stress management.'

...if it were me, I'd get answers to all these questions from local people once I got there...filling your head with useless information will drive you crazy...play it by ear and enjoy your move ....explore when you get there...

..Good Luck on the move.

The only thing I can tell you is that Metrowest is a nice wealthy area to live!

Once you are there, you wil find the more convenients places to shop for food depending on the distance and prices by yourself... I would say Walmart is the cheapest and it´s open 24 hours, but I guess it will be too far from where you will live!

Don´t stress it too much and enjoy it! :animwink:

I just threw everything into my Camaro and here I am... i bought furniture at Rooms to Go, no interst for 14 months, and filled in with stuff at Target. As for apartments, I jsut grabbed an apartment guide book at the grocery store.. They're free, and usually right there at the door.

I shop at Publix (grocery)

Rooms to go will work as well as any other. I'm not familiar with the Orlando area furniture stores. I've been fairly pleased with Maron's...but it is mid to higher end. Most of my furnishings are antique family pieces, except for those purchased in the above mentioned store. I think I bought our sectional at Rhodes...I just keep getting it reupholstered every few years because nothing else will fit the space as well. Keep in mind that your funishings might have to be smaller....I found most bedrooms to be smaller than those I was used to! Think in terms of "cooler" looking items...tweeds might wear well, but will feel hot around here!

I can't help you much on banks....I belong to the former Navy Credit Union...it just changed it's name to VyStar and relaxed membership rules....if you can find one there, it's a good deal.

As I mentioned before, you might want to try contacting the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce...also Osceola and Orange Counties. I would think they all have websites.

As Tramp said, part of the adventure of moving is discovering an area for yourself...and don't be too influenced by others! I spent weeks looking for a house in all the wrong places because I listened to the other officer's wives when I moved here! I discovered the "old" neighborhoods just taking a drive one day! None of the realtors had taken me around here, but as soon as I saw the old houses, parks, giant trees, small shopping "villages" and sidewalks, I knew I was home! I had been depressed by looking at a sea of gated communities and 80s subdivisions! So take your time and find your niche!
