Kinda off-topic, but I'd kill to see a Fantasia ride.

To be given proper treatment, it would be a "stereo" ride with effects that give off the illusion there are no roof/walls.

Very possible...but EXPENSIVE.

Disney has Harry Potter Theme Park attraction rights in the US.

this is part of the problem....muppets...star wars.....potter....cant we develop our own attractions based on our own characters

this is cheapening the product

in MGM (ahem) you go from Muppets to Star Tours and stop off for McDonalds Fries....where am i again......

okay, made a quick webpage of the scanned in images. http://www.magicalears.com/destinations/WDW/Animal Kingdom/Beastly Kingdom/

Enjoy!

After you see that, you'd have to be blind not to see the Fantasia references. :)

Do you think Imagineers are gutted when they see their original concept art - and then look at either the real thing - or what could have been and it look inreality nothing like they had in their head?

Sometimes the concept stuff looks so lovely - and u see it in reality and its all so different

Just wondering really

Not sure about a ride but I've heard a rumour that a Fantasia ballet is being considered at Disney Theatrical.

The concept art from that "professional and credible" site you posted with the hippoes is actually from fantasia 2000 concepts that got rejected (the proposal to add a 2nd segment to the original animation of the same theme).

Its on the Fantasia 2000 SE dvd (3rd disc)..check for yourself :)

From JHM.com:

"Want to hear what folks were told about "Beastly Kingdom" back then? What follows is an excerpt from an exact transcript of an early marketing presentation on Disney's Animal Kingdom. It describes in great detail the fun that would have been had in this part of the proposed park:

Beastly Kingdom is the realm of make believe animals, animals that don't really exist, out of legends, out of fairy tales, out of storybooks. Like our legends and fair tales about imaginary animals, this land is divided into realms of good and realms of evil.

The evil side is dominated by DRAGON'S TOWER, a burned, wrecked castle inhabited by a greedy, fire breathing dragon. He hordes a fabulous treasure in his tower chamber. The castle is also inhabited by bats who speak to us from their upside down perches. The bats have a plan. They enlist our help trying to rob the dragon and fly us off on a wild chase. At last, we meet the fire-breathing dragon himself and barely escape un-barbecued.

The good side of this land is ruled by QUEST OF THE UNICORN. An adventure which sends us through a maze of medieval mythological creatures to seek the hidden grotto where the unicorn lives. There is also FANTASIA GARDENS. A gentle musical boat ride through the animals from Disney's animated classic, "Fantasia." Both the crocodiles and hippos from " Dance of the Hours" and the Pegasus, fauns and centaurs from Beethoven's "Pastoral" are found here."

Can anybody say if there is land cleared behind or near CAmp Mickey and Minnie. It looks like there is room for another land there from maps and there aren't to many rumors on what could possibly comming after E:E in 2006.

They must have room somewhere for something. Or at least have plans where to put new attractions. AK needs more attractions even after the great Everest is operational.

IMO ALL the parks need to keep their attraction ratio up to par with MK.:animwink:
