Yes, he does leave his signature of his style on every one of his films.
Ahh, no way Ichabod is in it!? YESSS!

I did see Nightmare in 3D... and believe now, that that is the way it should always be viewed. Disney digital 3D is AMAZING!

Oh and look what a friend of mine sent me this morning!!

ENJOY!

http://www.broadwayworld.com/videoplay.cfm?colid=23667

Cool link, thanks!
Yeah, Ichabod is in Fables. Just another reason to read the book! hehe

Nightmare in 3D looks amazing and I agree, it should always be viewed in 3D. I heard select theatres where showing Vincent in 3D this year but sadly not by me.

Burton did not do From Hell, but it kind of looked like his work. It's based off of the comic by Alan Moore.

Oh man, the make up in Apes was awesome, and Tim Roth was brilliant. You could just see the hatred he had for humans in his eyes in that film.

Not sure when Sweeney Todd comes out in the UK, sorry. I'd imagine early next year?

Has anyone seen James and the Giant Peach? Jack Skellington has a cameo as a pirate in the movie. One of his henchmen is a skeleton Donald Duck.

(Donald and Mickey also make cameos in Nightmare, sort of. There is a seen where there are two kids holding the door closed from Jack's toys, and one is wearing Mickey pajamas and the other Donald Duck pajamas.)

No-one has mentioned Big Fish yet. I love that film, in fact it's probably one of my fave Burton's.

Does anyone know the release date for Sweeney Todd in the UK?
I think Enchanted is out this week, perhaps if ST is out soon I can do a double cinema trip!

I named Big Fish as one of my favs. I really really enjoyed that movie... and I always end it in tears. Beautiful story, so full of imagery and wonder. I just loved it. And everyone in it... brilliant. Just a great movie to escape with.

According to Yahoo Movies UK. The release date there is Jan. 25 '08

Yes Nightmare is brilliant in 3D, I would love to see Corpse Bride in 3D as well. If Vincent is available by me I will see it like that for sure.

I actually really liked From Hell... but again, we know I like me some gore and his character was so conflicted I just dug it.

The makeup on Apes was amazing. Tim Roth... I wish he did more stuff cause I really do love him.

YES! James & the Giant Peach, such a cute movie! And yes I remember the Jack cameo... wow, I will have to look back for the Mickey/ Donald reference. I havent seen it in YEARS!

Didn't Rick Baker do the make up for Apes? I love his work, I wanted to do monster make up for movies while in high-school, was my dream job. I used to do make up on my friends for practice.

Corpse Bride would look good in 3D, good point. I hope Warner Bros will put it out one day that way. If Disney keeps putting Nightmare out, which I hear they will, maybe Corpse Bride will get the treatment as well. I'd even like to see James and the Giant Peache done that way as well. And Vincent, on I love that, 3D for that would be great.

Tim Roth is playing the Abomination in the new Hulk movie due out next summer. He's a great actor.

As is Edward Norton who is the Hulk. Hopefully it'll make us all forget that there was ever that "OTHER" Hulk movie.

Eww....I felt dirty after watching that one in the theaters...I felt like I shouldn't have watched something so vile and disgustingly NOT GOOD!

Yes! Rick Baker is like one of my heroes! I am very much into makeup artistry as well. Love the special effects, and art of it all. He has done all the great stuff for like 30 years now! Can you say Star Wars, Thriller, Hellboy? I knew that you could! And sooo many more! Oh and he even did Enchanted... and working on The Wolf Man coming out next year. I get Makeup Artist Magazine and loved in inside on Click they did. That guy is magical, man!

Oh thats right I heard about that online.... about the Hulk. Another one to add to the 2008 list of anticipation!!

Haaa! Oh it was rather painful wasn't it?
Edward Norton is another one of my little favorite, he is so natural and versatile... can't wait to see what he does with the role...
Oh I know

Oops sorry, I must have missed it!
I do love Ewan McGregor tough so perhaps I'm slightly biased!! :ROFLOL:

Sigh. Over a month to wait then.

I still haven't seen Nightmare in 3D, it's been done in the UK a couple of years running now I believe, but only in about 8 of the big cities' largest cinemas. If it comes out again next year I think I'll have to make the effort to go.
Do they screen it at Downtown Disney? I know we'll be there over Halloween 09!

Fishing out the DVD, to find the PJ's.......

Taryn, you keep making yourself cooler in my book everyday. Into special f/x make up? Awesome. I wanted to go to the Joe Blasco make up school in Ca, but never went. It sounded like a cool place to go.

Baker seems so nice too in all the interviews I have seen him in. I'd love to just sit and talk with him about his career.

Hellboy is such a great film, awesome make up, great story, Ron Perlman looks just like the comic in it.

Thriller! Awesome video, great, great make up and it even has Vincent Price doing a bit in it. Can you ask for anything more?

Makeup artist magazine? I have never heard of that, but now my mission is to find this magazine!

Haaa! The more nerd that comes out, the cooler I get in these threads. hehe
Oh I love all things makeup... kind of an obsession actually. But I love Special FX alot! I had a friend that went to Joe Blasco in Orlando. I have wanted to go as well. I even got the catalog. Maybe one day. I have taken basic courses, but nothing advanced yet. Stinks.
I have seen a few interviews with him as well, he does seem very cool. You can definately tell he loves his job and is very passionate about it. Seems if he didn't DO the makeup for the best stuff, he was at least hired on to consult on the makeup done... amazing!
Oh yeah, Hellboy makeup was fantastic! The second movie is another big one I am looking forward to next summer... geez, can we make a list of them for the summer so I can prepare? hehe

Oh Thriller is the greatest... it is really timeless in its awesomeness :)
Loved the dancing undead. And I have a rather disturbing fondness for Vincent Price. He just embodied creepy & class. Not many can do that!

Oh yes! Get the magazine. You can subscribe at makeupmag.com or look up on that site for locations you can pick an issue up at. I usually pick mine up at Barnes & Noble, but not the one near me, it is only at one that is like 30 minutes away. But worth it. They go into details all the cinema makeup and way in advance. I remember reading a whole article on the makeup FX for Pan's Labyrinth like a year in advance of it's release, when no one knew of the movie. And then it won an Oscar for makeup too I believe. You will love it, I bet! Go get it!

Hey do you watch Reaper? That's my new favorite show. Kevin Smith took part in getting it going and directed the Pilot. It is HILARIOUS! And also very cool concept. Like Ghostbusters in a way. I likes :)

I am also excited for Hellboy 2. Can't wait, from what I have read about it, it sounds awesome.

Is the Blasco school still open in Fl? I remember hearing they had one there. The Universal monster make up show used to be pretty cool. Do they still have that? I used to work with my dad in high-school in a auto body shop. I'd skateboard down there. So, one day, I made myself up to look like I was in a car accident: bruises, scraped skin, blood, real nice stuff. So, I went to work, limped in like I was in pain, and my dad, the boss and even the secretary lost it. I couldn't hold it in and told them it was fake and then they had a laugh after they relaxed.

Ah, Vincent Price. Believ it or not, I have one of his cookbooks. That man was brilliant. His narration in Vincent, his fatherly inventor in Edward Scissorhands, his horror work. When he died I wore a black arm bland for a week in honor of him. Love that guy. Now, I heard this rumor, not sure how true it is, but when the Disney Paris Haunted Mansion opened, on opening day I heard Price did the narration. Ever hear that?

Thanks for the info on the magazine, I am going to look into it. Remember Chainsaw and Dave from Summer School? That movie helped fuel my love for f/x.

If you like Reaper it must be good. I'll have to start watching it. I've heard of it before but haven't seen it yet. Right now I am obsessed with How I Met Your Mother, I love that show. Just got season 2 on DVD. My TV time is limited since the girls are around. When they are there we watch Disney chanel, so fun stuff like new shows and what not have to wait until they are asleep.

Yes Hellboy 2 looks pretty nifty... they go more into Abe Sapien's from what I can see, and he is such a cool looking character.
Yes the Blasco is still open in Orlando. Yes, my friend graduated a couple months ago from there. Ah that is sooo awesome that you did that with the blood and scrapes! haaa! You must have freaked them out!

Ah Price is a god. His cookbook!? Wow! I never heard that about DL Paris... but have to look into that, pretty interesting.

Oh man, Chainsaw & Dave!! CLASSIC movie! That was always my favorite part, the gorefest for the substitute, haa! Oh I love that movie. haha

Yes, pleeeease start watching Reaper. It is SUCH a great show. Just my kind of stupid humor and also very cool angle. The Devil in it, he is just great. And the fat guy sidekick friend... he slays me! haha
How I Met Your Mother, the ones I saw.... hilarious! NPH is so great in it.
I gotta rent those cause I have hear raves about it. I need more witty comedies in my life... always :)
Yeah I hear ya, I DVR everything because hard to get on the TV til nighttime. Because the days... cartoons, cartoons, cartoons. Good thing I love them :)

I loved Abe Sapien in Hellboy. David Hyde Pierce's voice was a perfect fit for that.

Yeah, Price had a few cookbooks. He loved cooking and art. Such a great guy. Remember his episode on the Muppet Show?

NPH is classic on How I Met Your Mother. The things his character says, and the way he says it, oh man, SO funny. I got both seasons on DVD and laugh out loud when I watch them.

Ah, cartoons, how I love them. I was watching some classic Mickey cartoons with Lily last night. I wish the Disney channel would put that show Vault Disney back on. I really love those old cartoons. So great and such a part of not only American pop culture history but Disney history as well.

It's a mixture of rain, snow and ice here today. Work let out early so I came home and shoveled. Snow days are great! Get out of work early and paid for a full day!

The cookbooks sound great. I know he was very much into art. I have a few friends on myspace that are out in LA. And one girl always posts these benefits and exhibits that are at the Vincent Price Museum, and it makes me wanna go sooo bad! Yes I rememebr him on the Muppets! I love how he did some many different things that he appealed to such a wide audience... still does.

Yeah I have to see that show, I have heard his character is insane funny. haha Glad to see he didnt end up being "Doogie" forever. He really broke that category in Harold and Kumar for SUUUURE! haha
I so wish there was more Vault Disney as well. I am going to get those classic ones on DVD for my little guy. Because he really does enjoy them just as much as any other cartoon. And they are soooo much more simple and innocent stories too... I will admit cartoons today are faaaar too violent and above kids heads... I mean it makes me enjoy them to play to my humor, but kinda weird for kids, ya know? Disney needs to showcase their history more I think. It can still be loved by the newest gen. Not everything should be Raven & Hannah... eh.

I just saw on weather.com the ice and snow storm you uys are getting... wow! Must be freezing! It's like 81 degrees here right now! hehe But I wish it was cold... doesnt feel like the holidays at all. And was checking weather for Disney.... rain all weekend.... bleh. Stinks.

Sorry to hear about the rainy weather in Disney, but at least you are in Disney, right?

I had to shovel the slush in a cold rain down pour before. I didn't want the stuff freezing up over night and make my commute to work worse tomorrow. I'm also coming down with a cold so tonight has been a bad night.

Those collector tin set DVDs of Disney cartoons are great. I've been buying those every year, well worth the money. Disney really needs to do more with their old library of shorts. Sucha waste really that they don't use them more.

How long are you going to be in Disney for?

I will be missing the nerd talk and look forward to more when you get back. Have a nice trip! Let me know how the castle looks with the lights.

The collector tins are great, you really get your money's worth with them. I still need to get the new ones that came out this year.

Yesterday's storm wasn't too bad, especially compared to what other people have been getting in this country. We are supposed to have another tomorrow, so let's see how that goes.
