Literally not a single animatronic until the dip drop is functioning properly.
  • Mill lift Tiana’s head isn’t working like it should
  • Mama Odie not speaking before Slippin' Falls
  • Zydeco Louis is stuck in his idle loop where he just kind of bops around
  • Zydeco Tiana isn't moving from the neck down.
  • Lights are entirely out on the bears and fox
  • Paw Paw the Bobcat isn't moving.
  • Rara Louis' mouth isn't working.
  • Tiana on a stump isn't moving aside from her head and her dialogue doesn't play.
  • Louis' tail isn't moving and his audio doesn't activate for the log.
  • Animation of Mama Odie above the dip drop doesn’t activate until the log is about to start dropping
  • Mama Odie's audio at the dip drop is messed up and only saying the words "TINY! TINY! TINY! TINY!"
  • Mama Odie in the finale has no movement aside from leaning up and down.
  • Juju is moving very slowly

I don’t know when, maybe ten-fifteen years, but I have hopes that some executive will come along and say “this does not work” and make some strong story choices to enhance this ride. The ride is not irreparable it just needs someone with a stronger vision at the helm.

I mean, if they wanted a solid attraction there all they have to do is rebuilt Splash. They'd save tons in development costs.

Just realized, the "Louis looking in and under logs" is probably left over from the original storyline. Why would musicians be under a log? Who did he want? Dr. Worm?

Not only that, WDI is so proud of Louis 'looking in and under logs' they featured it in a promo piece.

They literally had to partner with feature animation to develop an animatronic that's just a bobbing tail. And the were so proud of that tail, they featured it in an Imagineering puff piece. The legs and the rest of the figure don't even move- so it doesn't even look natural anyways.

Imagine being Disney and spending $140 million and ending up with this pile of garbage. When they could have built an entirely new ride for the price and still had one of their highest rated and most beloved rides ever.
That’s what can happen when you put a person with a finance/accounting background in charge of a WDI creative project. But I’m sure she was the right person for the job. 🙄

Not unless they actually saved most of the animatronic endoskeletons. I'm unsure what became of them.

Only a handful of props and signage went to the archive, as well as the first Br’er Rabbit and marquee from Disneyland

I am currently on Property and was asked by a couple of friends if I am interested in experiencing this Attraction while visiting the Park this week.
At this stage, I am not really interested.

The deterrent is not exclusively my strong disagreement with some of the decisions made related to this project, but the fact it has show elements not working or reliable.
Plus the soaking factor….

It will be a pass for me.

Also I have to admit:
It will be hard to ride through that space and see what was once there now gone….and the somewhat poor replacement.

I was willing to give this a chance in person, as I do with all new additions, but my interest in this particular one has diminished.
And I love ‘The PaTF’ and the high end animatronics!

The exact same thing can be said for the current Imagination Pavillion.

And we are still waiting for the ‘fix’ to happen….going on almost 25 years now.

A little implied movement goes a long way. Take Br'er Bear's butt. Yes it's a static butt prop like Louis, but the positioning and Br'er Fox shaking him a little elevated it. Where was the documentary about that butt?

Rode it for the 3rd time overall on my trip a week ago. It's just not fun like Splash Mountain. Lacks energy, lots of empty spaces with just greenery and twinkling lights. Such a disappointment.
Shame that it truly has turned into the "People are only riding it for the drop" excuse people tried to use to justify why Splash could be changed.

I said something similar after my ride last week but to offer a bit more detail - I’m not ONLY riding for the drops. But the ride system, layout, ride time and thrills are now the primary motivation whereas before it was the experience as a whole. I still find value in much of the outdoor scenery and portions of the ride.

I really hope that one day in the future American culture will look back and realize what a ridiculous and horrible trend was allowed to take over a wide variety of entertainment.
Saner heads will prevail, people who actually know how to make content that entertains will find their way back in - and the course will be corrected.

This is what I have said many times regarding Splash.
Even if the scenes were static, or the AA's not functioning, there was a sense of movement.
The scenes were storyboarded and worked like a frame in a comic.

Met up with some friends at MK today, and between the five of us NO ONE was interested in riding ‘Tiana’s Bayou Misadventure’.
None of them, which surprised me.

All of them had experienced it before, except me, and none of them wanted to do so again.

It really is a shame as this had the potential to be something truly wonderful.
I ended up riding the train to see the finale scene….and I was good.

When riding Splash I would look ahead and see characters and movement and look behind and to catch pieces I missed because there was a lot going on.

With Tiana, there are so many scenes where nothing is happening, you're surrounded by nothing, especially the scene where it's nothing but grasses and twinkling LEDs.
