So, by your definition Cosmic Rewind wasn't a new attraction because it didn't add capacity to Epcot, it just replaced another attraction?
Besides, when Tiana's opens, Magic Kingdom will have gained an additional attraction as both Tron and TBA will be open at the same time, thus adding capacity to the park :)
Well, if you include Stitch, not much of a gain at all lol

Correct, and since cosmic rewind is only boarding groups, its not adding the capacity it could if they allowed standby.

Ironically, I wish they had re skinned UOE and kept that GREAT ride system, THAT was a people eater, the problem was folks grew tired of Ellen. A good reskin of UOE and that existing ride system would have been GREAT!

TRON is an additional attraction and has nothing to do with Spla..... er I mean, Tiana'.

I am VERY HAPPY to see TRON added to MK, but again, boarding groups with no standby, but IT DOES add capacity.

That's a really bad comparison.
Cosmic Rewind is a new attraction, because it's a completely different ride from what it replaced.
I don't know its impact on capacity - but it's completely different.
Tiana's is a reskin.
I actually like what they did on the outside - we'll see how successful or not the inside went soon enough.
But Tiana's is simply Slash re-themed as Princess and the Frog.
It's not really any different from the changes at Test Track, or Maelstrom to Frozen.
Hopefully it's just done much better than Frozen.

That's ridiculous. New Capacity and New Attractions are not the same thing.

You can complain if you'd like that this doesn't technically add new capacity to The Magic Kingdom, that's not wrong. But Tiana's is a new ride. No matter how many times you've ridden Splash Mountain, you've never ridden Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Because the old ride has been transformed into a new one you haven't experienced yet.

OK have it your way. Tiana is a reskinned new ride that adds NO capacity to the park.

Just a guess on my part, Tiana will add LESS capacity because it will have boarding groups and no standby.

Ok so if it isn't a new ride how do the scenes go? How's the plot progression? And don't give me "oh it'll be bad I bet" if it isn't new then you know the ride already - how is it? Is it fun? Better then splash? If it isn't new then what is it? It's new.

According to Google, new means "already existing but seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time,
not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time."
If this doesn't follow that definition nothing does.

Ellen’s Energy had an hourly capacity of appx 2,500 guests/hr, and was all standby/FP.

Guardians has an hourly capacity of appx 2,000 guests/hr, IF you win a lottery or pay for an ILL.

So no, that’s a reduction in capacity, either through pure raw numbers or impediments to riding it.

Realistically, Energy never had a wait.

So if you’re only getting 1000 guests through the doors, Guardians is not only serving more guests per hour (which effectively is what you want with capacity) but also pulling them from the rest of the park for a consistently long amount of time (something Energy excelled in).

Even with virtual queue, the multiple pre-shows, queue, and ride experience are at least a 30 minute experience (even when the queue is absolutely minimal).

So if you can give 2000 guests the experience in an hour, you’re effectively removing 1000 guests per hour from the park.

Even if we’re generous to Universe of Energy and call it an hour-long experience, that’s still an only 1000 guests fully pulled from the park for the hour assuming the extremely underutilized capacity it always had.

The funny part is both EPCOT and MK are still down from the counts they used to have for attractions. So both are lacking in that regard.

The only reason I miss UoE and its extended ride time is because it was good for a nice air conditioned nap. Trying to grab some shut eye on Guardians is extremely difficult.

I wonder which of these stores will make their way over to MK to replace their Briar Patch store

I guess I’m not sad at the thought of walking away from the ride without Going Down The Bayou stuck in my head 🙃

Randy Newman is kind of like Bob Dylan; he's a trash performer whose songs need to be elevated by other, actual artists.
(and yes that includes 'You Got a Friend in Me', where Newman just sounds like a sputtering idiot next to Lyle Lovett)

PatF only has two songs that were salvaged: Dr. John singing 'Down in New Orleans' and Keith David's 'Friends on the Other Side'.

Everything else is bland and uninspired....thank the maker that Disney chose to have others actually singing them.
