Whatever they chopped away when they erased all references to Splash probably left unsightly damage. Its faster/cheaper to just cover with greenery. What do you think needed fixing underneath?

It’s not a thing. There’s no damage being covered. Are there update photos back more in the thread that show damage to the facade before the greenery was installed?
With how much it rains there i can’t imagine this is a thing. But i also didn’t read through the whole thread

When I say damage, I mean aesthetically, its cheaper/faster to cover with greenery than re design, sculpt, paint, whatever. Are there update photos back more in the thread that show damage to the facade before the greenery was installed?

It is sculpted and painted. When I say damage, I mean aesthetically, its cheaper/faster to cover with greenery than re design, sculpt, paint, whatever.
I am sure whatever is under the greenery is structurally sound and can hold up to the rain.
And covered with greeneryIt is sculpted and painted.
So the overdone greenery was intended. it looks.... Interesting. And to me, fluffy. It’s not a thing. There’s no damage being covered.
As far as comparisons go between the digital rendering shown at D23 2022 and the final product, it's fairly accurate (if not slightly better). The handcrafted model looks different, though it is based of the Disneyland version.View attachment 772941View attachment 772942

Art/models they released next to progress photos
I stand corrected! Thanks!
Unpopular opinion here, but I didn’t care for the look of Splash’s exterior. I’ve only seen pics of Tiana’s makeover/takeover, but I far prefer this new look.Well that's good, given that it's trying to look different from Splash
The greenery in the source film (or at least the good voodoo greenery that comes from Odie's magic) is indeed shown to be fairly flossy, downy, or whatever. So the overdone greenery was intended. it looks.... Interesting. And to me, fluffy.
It does look like the greenery of the salt mound. That's good. The greenery in the source film (or at least the good voodoo greenery that comes from Odie's magic) is indeed shown to be fairly flossy, downy, or whatever.

Over in DL the Briar Patch sign is gone. It was the last public trace of Br'er Rabbit in Disneyland. I'd say it counts as a construction update

Maybe Br'er Rabbit will end up in the pet cemetery ala Mr. Toad.
So I walked by it yesterday. All the "clay" and briars still on the old gift shop still remind me of Splash.Whatever they chopped away when they erased all references to Splash probably left unsightly damage. Its faster/cheaper to just cover with greenery.
