I give the job they did on the retheme a 2 out of 10. The ride experience is still about a 5 for the ride system and all the other left over elements from Splash.

It’s an unfair comparison. I’m not being hyperbolic here — if we’re talking “vibes,” it’s simply not possible to top Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah joyously wishing riders a wonderful day. As a kid (and let’s be honest, as an adult too) I always felt like I carried that positive energy with me as I exited the ride and proceeded with my day. I doubt I’m the only one who felt that way.

I agree, though I don't think it's unfair to compare the two, given the circumstances.
Disney can, and should, have done better for the finale.

I said 6.5/10 earlier in the thread which is probably a drop from a 9.5 or 9/10 for Splash (in its heyday vs closing condition).
I don’t think the ride is even near in my top 20 anymore at the resort.

I just had the thought- the attraction's story would work perfectly for Alice in Wonderland's track layout. Instead of the 'drop' you go on the outdoor vine down to the party 'finale'.
I would have much rather lost Alice than Splash, and the attraction would be more forgivable at the smaller scale.
But also, Alice in Wonderland/Teacup area is perfect as is, so I wouldn't want that getting touched. They really should have made this a new build somewhere, or replaced Winnie the Pooh.

And that's the biggest crime, that we lost one of the best attractions ever for this piece of
.It not only fails as an attraction on it's own merits (major pacing issues, poor set design, poor sound design, poor reliability of both the ride system and set pieces), it fails as a replacement and successor to Splash Mountain.
I know I'm biased here, but I think it's now my least favorite ride at the resort because of what it cost. It's now a monument to how horrific 2020's WDI is- and it stands on the grave of some of the best work WDI has ever done.
I've always thought CBJ - Pooh was the biggest 'reduction' at Disneyland. This is significantly worse.
When DCA opened and sucked, at least it only cost us a parking lot.
WDW Bayou Adventure: 4/10
Too much dead space and the Laughin' Place is criminally underused. Props for the jumping water coming back, but that's it.
DL Bayou Adventure: 5/10
Less dead space and the fact that the Laughin' Place is used a little better get it the extra star. Staging is just as janky with several scenes being tucked into spots that guests have to crane their necks for (Zydeco Louis and Tiana on the log)
Splash Mountain (both WDW and DL): 10/10
Even in the zombie state it closed in, I'd drop it to no lower than a 9

DL Tiana cannot rank higher than MK when there is a likelihood you walk out with wet feet

Its still a much better ride experience. Plus, I always lift my feet on drops.

Every single time I came off that ride feeling like I was filled with sunshines and rainbows.
I rode TBA (in Florida) and I felt empty. Completely hollow. Wasn't even really upset, I just didn't feel anything. If a ride fails to leave any lasting impression, then there's something wrong with it.

You know, I'm skeptical that WDI can improve this. If they knew how, they would have done it the first time. Maybe if they gave Baxter a blank check he could make something out of nothing here.
I think WDI genuinely thought they had a hit here. They're just so far lost, they forgot what it takes to make an E ticket at Disneyland Park, where the stakes are higher and guest expectations are (or used to be) through the roof.
