Good morning. I have no feelings towards it because…and anyone who knows me knows this… I didn’t watch it and won’t watch it. I stopped watching videos of experiences a long time ago. The only exception is when I’m traveling to a new place and need to know how to get around using public transportation (see you next year, Italy, France, and hopefully Denmark). I will YouTube that for preparation. I will be almost 100% clueless when I ride TBA for the first time, whenever that will be. I did the same for MMRR. My family and I enjoy that ride and find it cute. Life is so much more fun when you’re not trying to experience it second-hand through videos that aren’t yours and other people’s photos.
My family and I bought the 3-day SoCal tickets and our last visit culminated last night. We had a great time for all three days. Thought I’d take a peek over here and, unsurprisingly, I see the same thing going on…the reason I stopped posting regularly and, will more likely than not, continue to post irregularly, if not post at all. What a coincidence that you mentioned me. Hope you’re doing well.
The older I get, the more positivity I want in my life. This is because the older I get, the more affected I am by negativity, including negative comments, negative energy, negative people, etc. This sub forum is a black hole of negativity. It just doesn’t stop. When I stopped posting here, I was also taking a break from social media, another internet space that can be full of nasty negativity. I noticed I actually started hating being here and hating reading the posts. Responding became a huge hassle and was not fun. It was honestly soul-sucking. So I stepped away. I’m glad I did.
I try and welcome positivity more and more into my life on a daily basis. My time being alive is quite limited; I want to be as happy as possible for the majority of it. And I was happy being at Disneyland with my family for the last couple of months. We took my two-year-old twin niece and nephew and they had a blast. I got to go with my sister-in-law and her family for all three visits, and that was awesome, too. We laughed, screamed, recited the some of the ride spiels to ourselves, and ate our behinds off. We zipped around the park, trying to get our last rides in before park closing and agreed with each other that we were all sore and in pain. And we laughed about it. Yes, some rides broke down and stayed down for the rest of the day (I FINALLY got to ride Matterhorn yesterday). Some of the food we ate wasn’t very good (looking at you, Tiana’s). We sometimes mentioned how things have changed, but we didn’t hang on to those thoughts for long. Things have changed, yes. They will continue to change. That’s life. But you move on and keep enjoying life. Roll with the changes where and when you can.
The thing is, some people have had their minds made up since the day Disney announced Splash Mountain was closing. They said they were going to go in with an open mind, but they didn’t really mean that. Not even a little bit lol. I did the same thing when I went to Magic Kingdom two years ago for the first time. I said I’d go in open, but I actually went in with full force, ready to defend my home park, Disneyland, and to criticize and nitpick every little thing or minor inconvenience (the water truly is garbage, though…disgusting, don’t ever drink it). The next time I return to WDW, I will go with a much more positive attitude and enjoy it for what it is, enjoy it as much as I can, leaving the negativity at home. I’ve been trying to practice having a more positive mindset about everything and it’s actually helped a lot. Negativity is mentally, emotionally, and even physically exhausting. I’m trying to stay away from that as much as possible.
Anyways, hope you’re all well. Stay blessed!
