Is the guy who posted that really an imagineer though? I don’t feel like he would have responded like this if he was as an imagineer currently employed by Disney.

If this means what I think it means… finally some good news. Swamp Boys better be sticking around and Brer Frog on the alligator. Among others.

I'm mixed on this, and am inclined to be disappointed in this.

Using the America Sings animatronics in Splash is somewhat justifiable, as Marc Davis did the character designs for both AS and SotS, and the similarities are apparent.

Marc Davis/the characters have nothing to do with Tiana. Not to mention, the animatronics haven't been consistently maintained in over a decade- will Tiana's Bayou look run down and poorly maintained soon after opening?

For me it’s some of the only positive news I’ve heard recently. I’d like for as many of those AAs to survive and stay where they are. I want as much of Splash to survive and as many anthropomorphic animals as possible. I still don’t know if we can trust this guy is an imagineer but assuming it’s true it’s great to know it won’t just be a bunch of human AA’s with that one critter band and a few Louis’ scattered throughout. If they are indeed keeping some of the old Splash AAs then it tells me that they are making an attempt at keeping it a whimsical experience and not getting too carried away with “story” and what kind of animals exist in Tiana’s world. The animals in that critter band in the concept aren’t anthropomorphic so it’s interesting to see they might be keeping some of the Splash AAs around.

The best news so far however is that TBA will be part of Critter Country and not NOS according to the new train spiel.

If they are reusing existing animatronics, I think that's great!

Of course, they will be refurbished inside and out for the new attraction I have no doubt.

If this is really happening, I am feeling hopeful about this attraction as we will be getting new animatronics as well as reusing old animatronics!

When the retheme was first announced, I honestly thought it was only being done to cut maintenance costs by greatly reducing the animatronics.

I am very glad to be wrong.

Oh that’s a good point. They could just be reusing the robot but the way his post was worded implies that the character will be sticking around.

It’s clip art from 2009
Oh, good grief. Yes, I suppose that ruins it because Disney NEVER EVER repurposes art elsewhere.

It’s a great drawing of Louis. I don’t care if it has or has not been used before. I don’t even care if it’s another !?!$& Instagram wall. I think it’s nice (dammit) and captures the mood they’re trying to convey very well. 😃

It looks corporate, cheesy, and corny. You’re allowed to like it. I just don’t.
