Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I hadn't heard about the Main Street retheme proposal, I checked out the parade concept art and only really saw the buildings were recolored / it didn't show much other detail. Was there any more information about what this retheme was supposed to be? I am assuming something that focused more on Disney characters / properties than turn of the century Missouri?
There were some rumblings about it, I think around the time that Main Street Cinema was turned into a merch location.

I can 100% confirm the retheme for Splash has been in active development for a long time. I don't know exactly when it was first pitched, but by the time it was announced in 2020, it was a developed concept that had been actively worked on for at least a year. You don't have to believe me, but that doesn't change that it's true.

Regardless of how anyone feels about these changes, they are happening, and they have been in the works for a long time. The timing of the announcement for Splash was definitely done to take advantage of the climate at the time so that the company could look in-step with public opinion. That's called PR! Big companies attempt to engage in it all time!
Interesting. When I mentioned this 30 pages back I was told it was a blatant lie. Ironically by the same person you are responding to now.

You weren’t a forum member when GMtM was active years ago, but they are a trusted insider here. I’m not sure where they get their information, but they have a great track record. Before leaving the forums, they let us know that Runaway Railroad was coming, I want to say a few months prior to the official announcement (gonna have to check the thread).
Noted! Thank you!

With all due respects to you, @Brer Panther, we have someone with a known track record who has real and legitimate sources and contacts within the Disney corporation (and whose insight matches that of other known insiders) versus you, who make wild speculations without any sources or privileged information. In fact, many of your premises that your arguments begin with turn out to be demonstrably false.
I've never claimed to be an insider.

And what makes this claim more believable than all those other claims from "insiders" on here that the retheme was cancelled or that Iger and Chapek disagreed on whether or not to do the retheme?

And if it WAS thought up before 2020, why didn't we hear anything about it like we heard about projects like the Guardians of the Galaxy ride or Mickey's Runaway Railway?

At this point if you don't want to believe a known DLR insider, well that is on you. Its happening, its moving forward, its a done deal. That doesn't mean we have to be happy about it, but its time to move on and accept it.

Looking at the Magic Happens concept art, Main Street is definitely Mickeyfied. There are Mickey head shapes on the top of the buildings, on the storefronts, and on banners hanging from the buildings. YIKES.

I’ll post the concept art featuring PatF, given this thread and because some people don’t believe that Disney has been utilizing this property throughout the parks for years already:

Any “insider” who came on here and said the Splash redo was cancelled has bad sources, full stop. It was never cancelled. That was a lot of fanboi wishful thinking.

And not everything leaks out before it’s announced. Just because no one posted about it before it was announced doesn’t mean Disney thought it up in February 2020 and hastily approved it. If you knew how glacially Disney does anything, you’d know the ride concept had to predate Chambers’s internet campaign.

There is a massive Peter Pan E-ticket opening in Tokyo next year and I would venture to say not a single person has leaked any info on it, including the ride system it will use. (For the record, it will be an indoor Ferris wheel) Disney can keep a secret when they want to!

Wasn't the rumor they were considering Mickey Avenue from Shanghai for the overlay of Main St? That is what I recall anyways.

I never noticed until now, thank goodness they didn't go through with this.

Yes, that’s the name. I couldn’t think of it, thank you.

SERIOUSLY. I don’t like the idea at all.
