There was the big push in '09 for her movie, with that
absolutely fabulous river show they did on the Mark Twain that summer. That Tiana show was some of my favorite entertainment Disneyland has done this century, second only to Viva Navidad and Paint The Night.
Then in 2011, when her movie was still only 2 years old, they had a float for her in Soundsational.
But since then? They haven't really featured her in any night spectacular or stage show or water show or new parade. She got forgotten in major Disneyland entertainment until... now. But they've got to pump her back up and make her a thing again.
I can't blame them, but it seems pandering.
I guess I just find it eye-rolling and embarassing for them because the music from that movie was just so wonderful, and they had real magic with that Mark Twain river show back in '09. And they forgot about her for the most part until Bob Iger had to pretend there was a plan to remake Splash Mountain
(when there really wasn't a plan to do that when he announced it suddenly).
