Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

It was sort of unsettling and sad. If the change in theme to Splash will allow them the ability to address whatever infrastructure limitations are preventing them from having show elements working consistently, then I'm doubly for it.

I've speculated before that one of the reasons this was proposed and so DLR-centric in its concept was to address the ongoing show quality issues with the ride, with WDW's version being a casualty of WDI looking to spread costs across 2 parks to justify the budget.

How so? Seabase is still great and and they have lots of fish to look at

Back in the 70's and early 80's, having some sort of underwater seabase was all the rage. Now it's a fairly empty aquarium that for the most part isn't that interesting or relevant. It would be best to move on from this as many cities have excellent aquariums and I'm not sure you'll end up with anything groundbreaking no matter what they do.

According to Fresh-baked Disney, Imagineers were at DL today scoping out the Briar Patch store and discussing the redo. Can anyone confirm?

Does this whole situation remind anyone else of getting the "your order has shipped!!" email only to have it just be that they printed the label and it just sits there for a week or more not moving from their warehouse or the mail distribution centre?
It's giving me serious Sonic Team vibes. Right down to the "Delays=Good product" sentiment. That and they're supposedly going to be doing new original songs/music* inspired by the songs in the film* for the attraction. This is not the time to be experimental.

I'll believe it when I see it. The matter of exactly when remains the question.

Wow, even Frozen Ever After didn't get original songs. I'm skeptical of that claim, I'd be shocked if they didn't use at least one song from the film (so many people have suggested they do "Friends On the Other Side" for the lift hill, I'd be amazed if they DIDN'T do it).

For what it's worth, FEA is way too short to really work in a new story or new songs. It exists solely as a series of vignettes that showcase some above-average AA's.

With this, keep in mind that everything Disney has released has the "story" set after the original movie ends. And as best as we can tell, we're going to be "helping Louis find his missing trumpet". Not saying Dr. Facilier and the voodoo/minions can't or won't make an appearance, but having "Friends on the Other Side" play, would be like hearing "Poor Unfortunate Souls" on a post-movie set Little Mermaid attraction. 🤷‍♂️ I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Didn't the leaked plotline have the voodoo spirit guys (and maybe Facilier too, I don't remember) show up to replace the Burrow's Lament sequence? Or am I just misremembering?

They could always just have it be Facilier's ghost or something like that, or go "to heck with continuity" and have Facilier just be alive with no explanation.

Honestly, who knows at this point.

Hopefully we'll get a glimpse of something at next year's D23.

I would be so grossed out if they keep pushing the voodoo nonsense, if I can be perfectly honest. 😬 Friends on the Other Side is a great song, but that whole plot point is cringe.
