Thread Bashing

Just remember, there is a difference between bashing and disagreeing. Many people new to the forum tend to mix the two up. You are perfectly welcome to say you hate the Tomorowland Speedway and think it should be replaced. Just as I am perfectly welcome to disagree with you. That is called discussion and it tends to happen on a discussion board. Sometimes those discussions get heated because there are many people around here with a good bit of passion.

Exactly. There is huge difference between saying you hate my favorite ride, and saying that I'm brainless/have no taste/or falling for the TDO spiel for liking something.

For example, I went to Chef Mickey's once, two decades ago, only because I was staying in the Contemporary and I wanted breakfast in the hotel. I felt it was overpriced, crowded, noisy, and quite frankly, I'm not a fan of characters. But my young daughter was delighted, so I tolerated it. I would probably not go now (unless someone else really wanted to go), but I know that there are people who enjoy interaction with the characters, with or without children, who go every trip. And I see nothing to criticize, and will not say you are wrong for liking what you do. If we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place.

See what I mean. So sorry, but being Scottish and hot blood running thro my veins,we tend to grab the claymore and shout charge before we realise what were doing.once again,Mr Hatter takes his big hat off to say sorry.

I suppose I can let it go... This time... ;)

Quite true, for you and me, but I bet this guy has a different opinion.

That is the same reason why my cousin was so excited to ride it. Both me and him have to go through stressful morning commutes and deal with traffic daily. On our own we wouldn't waste any time with the Speedway. However he has 2 kids and gets to see the excited look on their faces when they are "driving." I don't get to see that yet so I skipped on over to The Carousel of Progress and TTA.

Oh, you're an evil person for even suggesting Chef Mickey's isn't perfect!;)

Here is a crash course to internet forums.

How I or anyone would post something is the way people express their opinion about any one certain thing.

How those posts are comprehended, and comprehened being the key word, is based upon the the individual.

This is also why people can sit here and say, " Oh so and so is nothing more than a troll...", or " So and so always makes the most wonderful, thoughtful posts..", the only difference is personal perception and unfortunately we are forced to have moderators decipher all the good and bad and make judgements based upon not only what they perceive but take into account what others think as well. Its a lot of balls to juggle at once, keeping them in the air is quite a task.

Perception.

Pains me to say it, but I couldn't have said it any better myself.

It's a fine line. I've been posting on message boards for a long time. Sadly, it's the nature of the beast. If you're going to post on a public forum, you have to take the bad with the good. I came close to leaving this place yesterday as I had had enough of some of my posts being torn apart and bashed, but after thinking about it, reconsidered. There is something about sitting behind a computer screen with absolute anonymity that makes some people feel empowered. Whatever. My Dad didn't teach me much, but one thing he did teach me was to "consider the source". If people are going to go out of their way to be mean and insult others on a message board, be the bigger person and just use the good ole Ignore button.
I am very glad you reconsidered!:)

There is a lot of bashing on here. Unfortunately if you post on here you are subject to the bashing. People feel free to give their 2 cents worth in a very intimidating way to the post. I just learned to ignore it after what I feel was bashed!!! I don't post threads on here anymore since that! Gee imagine that! I think some people need a taste of their own medicine!

You didn't get "bashed," you simply didn't receive the responses you were looking for. And that often happens on a discussion board, Disney-related or otherwise....

Sorry, but eh-eh. There have been several times when I thought you came off very rudely in your "responses". Nobody's perfect (Lord knows, I'm far from it), but often, you post with what I would call, a certain level of entitlement.

Quite frankly the same could be said for some of yours as well. And quite frankly I don't go asking others how much is in their savings accounts, or what they're spending for DVC. As you said, no one's perfect, so perhaps we should just leave it at that.
