Thoughts of the night before...

Well, we leave tomorrow afternoon for 10 days. I work half a day, then pick up the wife and kids and head to the airport.
The luggage is all packed, and everything is ready to go.
Tic...Toc...Tic...Toc...
I'm flipping thru the channels on the TV and can't find anything to watch.
All I can think about is getting there, pulling out one of my favorite cigars and having a drink under a palm tree -paradice is near. :)

I would love to trade places with you. We just bought a new house last month; any WDW trip is looking kind of unlikely for this year.

I think being idle the last day is worse than being busy. Personally, we are always running crazy the day before our trip so the time doesn't drag.

I hope you have a great time. Have a drink for me.

I, too, wish I could trade places with you (minus the cigar )...wish we were leaving for the world tomorrow.

Have a great time!

I wish we were leaving right now... we have 45 days left... we are counting it down. We are staying a week and wish it was longer but a new furnace and centeral air took the money that would have been spent for a longer trip. Dang my house... we could cook to death this summer or be cool... being cooled got the vote! My five year old is having a hard time waiting!

Those can be the worst days - counting the hours until you can leave work to go to the airport. Have a good trip and have a drink for me!! 28 more days and I leave for Florida!!!

Last time, I sat up ALL NIGHT with mouseworldradio on in the background...I can never sleep before the trip. I catch a couple of hours on the flight down, but that is it!

I'm so jealous! We don't go "home" until July 2. (and that's after an 18 hour drive) On the drive down we all choose our top three "must do" list. We plan our itinerary around hitting every person's top three. Everything else is icing on the cake. (We usually go at least twice a year- summer and Christmas)
Say hi to Eyeore!

The night before is always a very exciting time in my house. It is very difficult to get the kids to bed. We usually take a morning flight down so we can enjoy the parks as soon as we get there. My thoughts the night before are always on making that first turn down Main Street and seeing the castle for the first time. And no matter how many times I go to WDW, every time I see the castle the first time on any trip it feels like the first time ever. I immediately revert to a 10-year old.

when I go in May i gotta work 5am to 2pm the day before and be up at 2am the morning we're leaving to be at the airport by 4am for the 6am departure. Sleep will barely occur. The kicker is the day we get there, the mk is open to mid with the evening magic hours

We're leaving Saturday morning :sohappy:

I took tomorrow off work, and am planning to (1) get the house cleaned (nothing worse than leaving WDW and coming home to an untidy house); (2) watching WDW home movies (gets me in vacation mode); (3) re-scanning the guidebooks (review our plan of "attack" -- joking); (4) packing the last-minute essentials (can't forget the sunscreen and other food goodies); and (5) having a glass of wine (to help me fall asleep)! :D

That's great, but I know exactly how you feel, the last few days are the absolute worse. I'm leaving next friday :sohappy:, but the days could not seem to be going any slower :(. Anyways, have a great trip.

Heck, in my house it's tough getting the adults to bed as well!

That is so true. One trip, we were staying at a hotel at the airport to catch an early flight. We arrived at the hotel at approx 10p and had to be up to catch the shuttle at 430a. After a few minutes of getting settled in, everybody else in our group went to sleep. I just laid there all night staring at the clock.:lookaroun I was too excited to sleep. I felt like a little kid at Christmas (or on their way to WDW:ROFLOL:) When the alarm clock went off and everybody else was dragging their selves out of bed, I was dressed and ready to go.

hey you got it easy 2 weeks ago when my trip was near I had to work friday night till midnight and our flight was at 6:40 in the morning, and we had to be at the airport at 4.. and trust me that was not fun because I was so excited to go I couldnt sleep much. So atleast you can sleep a while and have a drink for me as well smoke a good cigar If I may suggest go to the SOSA Cigar shop in DTD and get a handrolled cigar They roll there own in the store 3 times a week and they are nice and fresh. I smoked one with my best friend and It was great.

Have fun
