Thoughts from my recent visit to the World

We know it's not all positive. There are ways around the skybridge, you just have to find them. I wouldn't trust any dates from Disney right now. It seemed that Star Wars was the big push over Toy Story.

As for the room, try somewhere else next time.

Overall, you have to travel to WDW knowing it's bad right now and make the best of it.
We crossed the road.....probably not the best idea but it worked....I went over once wasn't doing it again. Oh we won't stAy at Caribbean beach again. We love port . Orleans so we will probably go there next time.

I don't trust the dates but Hollywood studios has to get something and the walls are up so I'm hopeful.

I agree I love it also but the crowds definitely make it less enjoyable. I hope as new things open maybe it will spread crowds out more although it may just bring more people.....We will see.

That's actually the job of FP+. It just so happens that with a lot of work going on, the system can't try to direct people to places where there is little to nothing to do. That's why the Magic Kingdom is so busy. It has the most to offer.

DHS will have something but it remains to be seen if they'll wait for the whole lands to be done or open it ride by ride... I'd have to guess the entire land (like they did with New Fantasyland). Those projections were years out. Til then DHS is just a few rides and lots of walls, sadly.

Sounds like the OP was given bad info prior to their trip and when they got there and it was just walls they felt duped because all these new areas aren't even close to started or finished.

A deal is a deal. For the Americans it's 30% off rack rates (I believe). Free dining, gift card and the pass deal is waaaaay more than what's offered for us. Gripe about it all you want but it's better than other offers currently.

I knew what was there and what isn't I am n these boards daily....I was just posting that I'm honestly questioning if frozen and Pandora will open when they are supposed to. We go every 2-3 years I know how to plan for Disney. We still had fun but not as much as usual. The cut in staff is VERY noticeable, make of it whAt you want.

Anything will help, I'd rather they open one at a time I think than wAiting for all of it.

Wow antagonistic much. My room was dirty and old. It also seemed smaller but obviously that's not the case so it must have felt that way for being dirty and old. Yes the skybridge has open walls and if you have a problem with heights it's a serious issue. The parking garages were full. Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean a ton of other people won't be bothered. I love Disney but . Not everything right now is positive if you can't handle that don't read my posts. No kidding the opening dates are not here yet. That's the POINT. We've known about Pandora for what 5 years and it's still a year or more away. And who said I HATE epcot I love epcot which is why I'm saying it needs some love to get it back to where it should be.

I could have sworn I've agreed with you that a dirty room isn't acceptable - a point I conceded in my first reply. Again, I don't know what your issue is with Pandora. We've known since the beginning that it had a completion date of 2017.

My issue is it's too long and I am almost willing to bet it won't open in 2017.

Not five or six years. I'm not universal can but I'm sorry what they did with potter shows that speed and quality can go together.

Are you one of those people that complains about having to wait a couple years between Star Wars movies too? Disney is building a huge new land in a park that hasn't had a major expansion and they're doing it at the pace that they set when it was announced. If they put it together in two years, you'd probably complain that they'd thrown it together and slacked on quality. Sheesh!

No I'm just Not a fanboy and I'm not afraid to tell it like it is the good and the bad. I'm sure most agree with me it's too long. They take too long. I don't expect things overnight and I don't want garbage but this has been too long.

You said there's a lot of people from England. This has nothing to do with Disneyland Paris. Look at the deal for the Brits right now, free dining, $200 gift card and a 14 day pass for the price of a 7 day.... So why go to Paris?

Photo pass is good and bad. Good for those that don't want the hassle of lugging cameras along, but bad that you don't have a backup. If Disney loses those pictures, you're SOL.

As for the crowd levels, you almost just have to wing it and use your own judgement. Certain times of year you know the place will be packed. Other times of the year you have to look at the current deals. Trends are used for making any calendar and sometimes you can luck into a slow day or two.

As for FP+, it's what you make of it. If you have to micro-manage your trip based off the system, you've almost already failed. But each person/family has their own way they plan. The system works well if you make it work FOR you.

How come the Brits have such a great deal. I'm jealous that's awesome.

Apparently you expect a lot of things that are unrealistic (like Disney to somehow get you from one side of a busy road to the other without utilizing a bridge). Knowing for years that Pandora would open in 2017 and not expecting it to magically open earlier isn't being a fanboy, it's being a realist.

It should never have been that long in the first place. Yes you are a fanboy. The bridge isn't the issue it's that it's open. I think you just like to argue so just block me please. I don't want to argue.

Perhaps you should take up your complaints about Disney's timeline with the imagineers?

They encountered a ton of issues that delayed the start of Pandora years ago. As this is Disney, again, expect 95% of the land (s) to be completed before they open them.

Whether too long or too short, Disney will go at their pace for construction. None of us want to vacation and look at scrims the entire time. That said, IMO, I believe they have too many projects going on at once. They needed to care for the existing rides first, then introduce one expansion, then another. Unfortunately for all of us, they threw everything on the board at the same time.

If they did one thing at a time, they could more than likely do a quality job in a shorter time frame, but they didn't do that.

So that means we're stuck with DHS as a construction zone, Epcot FW is sorta empty, Frozen-way will open this summer in the WS, AK can't get Rivers of Light up and running and Pandora is a Pandoras box. This leaves the MK for everyone to be stuffed into. Yes, they shouldn't have cut staffing, but there just comes a point where there are too many people and not enough things to keep everyone entertained/happy. This is why FP+ can be seen as a failure due to the lack of options in other parks. Things will get better, but the key is patience. If you can vacation knowing you might not get to everything and you are able to wing it, you'll be fine. If not, then I wouldn't suggest visiting until about 2019 or so until these simultaneous huge expansions are nearing completion, and that's if things go smoothly between now and then.

It's sad because if they hadn't waited so long to start...We wouldn't have this situation. I do agree they have projects going everywhere and therefore nothing getting completed. We hadn't been since 2013 but 7 dwarfs mine train was the only real addition and there were several subtractions. We did enjoy mine train though.

In New Fantasyland? That whole area opened at one time in Dec. of 2012 with the mine train being somewhat behind schedule.
