This year's Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade will be based around 'Frozen'

Well, let's keep our fingers crossed that they learned their lesson this year, and that we'll see a more traditional Christmas Day Parade in 2015.

I would love it if Regis would return to host, but I wouldn't mind Nick Cannon and Neil Patrick Harris again. Anything would be better than what we saw today.

For the first time ever, I shut the tv off half way thru the Disney Frozen Christmas Celebration...

Missed opportunity for a Frozen reference. :p

This is so bad.
Watching now.
It's a concert with artists I'd never watch.
I mean, Train?
Wow.
Biggest Entertainment company in the world and they have Train.
Frozen overdose.

If you check my previous forum posts you will see that I typically defend Disney's decisions. Not on this one. It was horrible. I'm not sure who they were marketing this to. We had this on our DVR and our six year old and three year old daughters that love Frozen kept asking me to fast-forward throughout the broadcast, asked several times why the performers were not singing Christmas songs, and my three year old even said Disney does not like Christmas during the Gavin Degraw song "Fire". They mostly did not like the alternative versions of the Frozen songs. If it wasn't geared towards them and not entertaining to adults, I don't know who this was geared towards. The reunion segments are lost on little kids and adults hate listening to Frozen music. I'm sure this will be a one-year thing and Disney will go back to what has worked in the past. It doesn't matter if it is the same parade floats each year. So is Macy's and it works.

Does anybody know how to start a petition and the right place to send it to? Maybe if enough of us sign it to voice our displeasure over this year's mess, then they will do something about it?

The "reunion" segments were pointless even tho they Surprise the people didn't mean we saw the reality behind the camera...All they said was they were going to surprise them...That's it....They weren't given any other perks....Who knows they probably had to wait in the lines for rides and $14 burgers like the rest of us...Pure magic folks!

The one I hated was the Aulani one...Husband says "We can't afford a trip to Hawaii" No one can afford a Trip to Hawaii and even stay at a Disney Hotel in Hawaii! Welcome to the Bandwagon!:banghead:

Do They really work? I mean you bring up hundreds and thousands of names saying to change something they would not give a dang about and just go the easy way out.

When you start one I will be the first to sign it! Make sure you send it to me in a message!

Agree. Not trying to nitpick but didn't the story say the brother chose to move his family to Hawaii, away from his sister he was so close to, to better his financial position and for the betterment of his own family? His sister and her husband couldn't afford to go there to visit (who can?) so they hadn't seen each other in 2 years. That's it. 2 years. Bro wants to make more money and live in tropical paradise and that wins sister a trip to Disney? I know of a lot of situations that are far more deserving of such a wonderful reward than that.

Soapbox pushed back into the closet now.

The "Do you want to build a snowman" performance is keeping me awake right now... that song should never have been sung anywhere except in the film. It's not that she was a bad singer... it just wasn't written to be sung in any other context!

And to make matters worse, they added a Hawaiian melody. :banghead: :banghead:

No, the brother stayed in Utah. She & her family moved to Hawaii. He was on a fireman's salary and couldn't afford to visit anytime soon.

I was thinking that as well. If they wanted to really suprise people how about military families and loved ones returning home or something like that

It was as terrible as so many in this thread have said. This is the first year I turned it off. It was such a poor production that it wasn't even good advertising.
I watched the whole thing with my wife HOPING we would see a little more of the parade but at the end we looked at each other and said, We watched 2 hours of this for only about 15 minutes of the parade and the rest was just awful singing!!!!! It was like most Disney specials.......one long commercial for the parks. I am just glad it was on the DVR.
