So each key card holds any card up level information on it and not the actual card? Looks like I might just have to print off all those files I have onto some card stock before I return to the world.

I wonder if anyone is actively watching for people playing with fakes?

They aren't, and I don't think they really care just yet (although I did pose the question last week). There are some people who have pics of the cards on their phones or ipads and use them instead of actual cards. I think Kevin Yee even made mention once of someone who created themselves a tablet app that allows them to pick up to 4 cards from their virtual deck and use them. No cards neccessary.

Which makes owning the cards a moot point!

hmm I guess I have to be careful as a future College Program CM but I for one happen to be one of the adults that think Sorcerers is great especially when my party is have a dole whip break and I can't stand the things or when they want to ride Carrousel of Progress for the billionth time. I have 15 different cards and I think my friends and I between us have 40 different cards but there are a few I've been wanting to see once I get back down to the world.

Not the worse...

It's taken me about a max of five total (about 10am - 5pm) days to collect a set of all 60, I've got three sets. I guess if you want it and can't get it, $4500 might seem okay.

Eh, some people think things are worth a little or a lot more than they really are. Every now & then you get someone pop onto eBay offering up a Cabbage Patch for thousands that anyone who knows even a little about them knows is worth little to nothing. It's all in perceptions and educating oneself before going to the trouble to list. Then there's typos....maybe an extra 0 popped onto the end....

Personally, I place more value on my complete set of first issue transportation cards including monorails pink & purple. :animwink:

You are thinking rationally and there is nothing rational about collecting. I have a movie poster hanging in my living room that I could sell in a heartbeat for $300. The fact that the posters were given away at launch is irrelevant. When a collector wants something, the want to posses thing itself. The data on it, information in it, usefulness, etc is irrelevant.

What's a good web page that best describes what guests (who are not "in the know") see around the park merely as people with trading cards and television monitors disguised within the decor? I'm guessing there's an explanation somewhere within this website.

The same thing happend (not quite to the same prices) with the VMK cards when they came out.

There was a market for unused and used VMK cards.

I still have a stack of them (mostly unused) around here somewhere. Kind of wothless now. I guess I should have sold them during the heyday :D

Basically, they installed video screens all around the magic kingdom in odd places. You follow a story line around the park to all the different video screens. Disney hands out these "playing cards" to add an interactive element to the the videos that you see on the screens. You use the playing cards they give you to do battle with disney villains on the video screens. As you play more, you can increase your level and get new playing cards.
When I saw this for the first time in February, I really wanted to play but the lines for each screen were atleast 5-10 people deep. I just didn't want to give up the time in the parks to stand in line for 30 minutes to try and play this game. Maybe I will try it next time I go if the lines for the video terminals goes down.

I can envision the person not paying after winning the cards and then deleting his/her account.

oh wait, right now there have only been offers made. wonder how much people offered; )
