HaHa, ok, anyways.

We had PS at the steak house in Canada. And it was at like 8:50. So, when we left, the park was EMPTY! The only people we saw were a few other guests leaving from their PS. We were right by the fountain (because one of it's "shows" was going on) and then BOOM!!!!!!! A huge explosion on the lagoon. We turned around and it was a huge ball of fire. No joke. Was it probably just the engineers getting rid of the rest of the gas from it? Or what? It was pretty scary at first. But then we just laughed at how much it scared us.

Exactly that! they have to do that every once in a while on the inferno barge that generates the huge fireballs at the beginning of the show. You can hear it and see it all the way from the Contemporary Resort. :)

:sohappy: I had a feeling that's what it was. I'm glad it was just that. And nothing serious though! It was a pretty neat site to see actually. Thanks for the speedy answer Steve! :D

I did see it, live and in person too!!! I was having a very LATE dinner at the Rose & Crown on the deck. Thank goodness the waitress did warn me. Even with the warning I jumped!!!! And it is exactly as Steve said, they are releasing left over gas from the inferno barge!! Belle

I have seen it happen from the Cali Grill, all of a sudden I saw this huge fireball jump up from that direction...

I think she/he meant 9:50...anyways

Heck I work at MS (As some of you know by now) and when Im leaving sometimes, I know its coming, but I still jump.

But we Flordians, if we're there during the winter months (When its like 40-50 degrees, I know, it sounds crazy that Flordia gets that kind of weather) but its a great way to warm up real quick, lot of you know what Im talking about.

Speaking of the weather, there's a little Floridian inside joke that goes 'When the temp. drops below, 80, we break out the coats.....when it drops below 70...we evacuate the state.

70 is like summer here....LOL because its been 70 for two weeks straight ow but I have heard of that too and you can tell the difference between the locals and northerns because the northerns are wearing shorts and a t-shirt and southerns are wearing pants and sweaters.

Yeah, being from CA it can be tough eating dinner arround lunch time. We ate in China one night and had the latest seating possible. The restaurant wouldn't let us leave until an escort showed up to walk us out. Nobody arround but CM's and cats. Thats right, we saw the fabled Disney Nocturnacats!

Yeah, same thing happened to me lat march after a late dinner. I'm walking away from the lagoon when i feel this massive fireball a couple of hundred yards behind me and suddenly i can see my shadow.. Naturally, i turned around and started heading towards the site, trying to figure out just happened. When i noticed everyone going about their daily business as opposed to that "Holy S!" mentality, i put the camera back down and went back to slowly leaving.

On the way out i bumped into an Epcot manager, he said that it was normal, they didt it every night and was excess gas in the system. Still scared the heck outa me....

explosion

Yes, they do this like someone else said to get rid of excess gas and pyrotechnics.

We stayed at CBR in March and they did this several times late at night and also one night did several fireworks that did not go up for the show. Quite ammusing.

Ah, its just a hit or miss deal. Yeah there are wild cats (Not like cougars or anything of that nature, sorta like house cats, only with an attitude) that come out at night. But your chances at seeing them are as good as seeing the snakes on Tomy Swayers Island, very slim.

Thank you sir. As explained in such books as "Mouse Ears", WDW is a realm for kitties that only come out at night, i.e. Nocturnacats but, they're there eating your hamburger leftovers, shy of man, yet doing ok. Part of the chain of life. (uh, corny ending)

I have nothing really relevant to add to this topic - I just had to give a total "thumbs up" to the title!

I'll be giggling for quite awhile on this one!
