This looks like an "interesting" 5K

I can't bear Halloween Haunted Houses or anything where people jump out to scare you - I'd NEVER do this! But I can see it being cool for those who are into such things.
I'm with you! I am particularly terrified of anything zombie relatated. I think I WOULD set a lifetime PR at that race! My friends dragged me to a haunted house at a Six Flags years ago and I ran straight through it without stopping, I never even saw what was in there. :lol:

Come on Jill. It will help you tap into the Kung Fu you didnt know you had. EDIT: I think they should do it with fog.... in the woods, at night and some down lighting from the trees.

I kind of make a point to not run unless absolutely necessary. However, when I do run I'm surprisingly fast for being short and not 130 pounds anymore. :lol: I would probably set a land speed record in this race. I hate things jumping out at me.

Hopefully the Zombie Race will be a success and will spread. There are too many 5K races in too many places to travel far for one again, even if an obstacle course is added in . . . I did travel for the inaugural Everest Challenge. :king:

There was just a Warrior Dash race about 5 minutes from my house last month. My sister did it. It was quite.... interesting to watch. :lol: It had rained for about a week straight before the race, and there was mud everywhere. The participants didn't seem to mind, though.

The one in Amesbury I would imagine. Tons of fun, but they weren't planning on the 3 inches of mud in the entire course. Nor were they counting on the Warrior Dash Rash that lots of people seemed to pick up. Looked like poison ivy, but didn't seem to be, some doctors thought it was a reaction to a mold in the mud or some such. It was one of the few races where everyone seemed to have a fun time. No hardcore runners gunning for a new PR, just muddy dirty fun. Twas expensive though. Would have been interesting to have zombies grabbing at you.
Not to digress from the Zombie run....
In the theme of warrior dashes and spartan runs - If anyone is in North Carolina 09/24/2011 there is "The Gauntlet Run". This is the second year. Last year I participated and had a great time. The run has enough obstacles and challenging terrain so at the finish - you feel the 4.4 miles through your body. It does not have all the hype the others have received. It is a fun event and has a kids version also.
The website name is the same name as the run name.
If anyone wants to join me for it, come on!
