This is safe?

How can the idea of packing people into a disney bus at night like SARDINES be safe. You literally can not move an inch. And it seems the more packed it gets the more insistant that the driver is to KEEP MOVING BACK. Theres little kids crunched up against mom and dad...babies..what the hec happens god forbid theres an accident or a rollover, etc...CAN NOT BE SAFE!

Is it safe? No! But does it boost hourly capacity, you betcha! This has been going on at disney for the longest time and gets worse as time goes on.

Funny, I have not heard of anyone getting injured or killed due to packing into a Disney bus, but what do I know. Besides, if the bus did tip over you would have a nice, soft human body to absorb the impact.

Jimmy Thick- I would have a seat of course because lets face it, Iam Jimmy!!!

I think Disney's idea of 'safe' is getting as many people back to their resorts as quickly and efficiently as possible, making the guests happier. Sure they could enforce a no standing rule and only fill the busses with seated passengers. But imagine how much longer that would take! I don't think you can honestly say that you would rather double your wait (at least) for the bus, than be slightly uncomfortable for that bus ride.

I took the buses back to the TTC everyday because our resort bus was picking us up there and well, it wasn't that bad. The issue I find is the bus drive constantly keeps telling everyone to push in because there really is room. The issue is no one understands how to push over a tad bit to fit a few more people. On the bus my girlfriend and I were on was leaving AK, and well the bus was not full at all and the people just stood there. Even I had to tell people to move towards the back to fit and did anyone listen? No.

Well, at the end of this madness of the bus driver TRYING to get a few people to push back more a family of 3 was left there alone..all because a few people didnt want to stand and hold onto the railings at the back of the bus :brick:

Hmm, doesn't sound like my cup of tea. I think I will continue to spend the extra dough on a rental car....especially while the 3 kiddos are still little.

Yeah, that makes sense. Have you ever calculated how much money you're burnin'? The gas to and from, and the price of parking - didn't they just raise it? Hey, that's cool money bags, if you have the cash, have at it! But for me (and the rest of everyone else I know), there's just something about hearing those announcements, and being welcomed 'home' by that voice after a long day in the parks. I like to get lost in the magic, escape reality, and like to hear the syncronized background music when I ride up to the park gate. I can't escape reality in a Ford Fusion.

Yep. This is a problem with guests throughout WDW, not just the busses. The bus driver wouldn't overfill the bus, I'm sure they can get in trouble if they do. They keep telling people to move back because people these days refuse to move. Whether it be on the bus, waiting to enter the pre-show for Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, or in a row in a theater - people these days have an attitude of "F-you, got mine" once they get to where they waited in line to be, and since its all about them, they wont move to make room for other people.

I love it when CMs, after a guest refuses to move and was asked several times, will tell everyone else to go around them. It makes the guest who wouldn't move angry, and rightfully so!

Honestly, you should see how they pack trains and buses in other countries. I have never had a bad ride on a WDW bus. Uncomfortable? Absolutely, but never not safe. It's not required. If you feel that way step aside and wait till the last of the people have left the park.

It could be worse..At least the drivers don't do this.

You got it, thats exactly why and then its so crammed because NO ONE MOVES! I took the bus a few times, and mostly at night this happened. The family that was left behind in DHS was stuck in my mind all night afterwards.

At the end of the day I am always glad to have someone else do the driving. I don't care how crowded it gets. I live in the country so I never ride a bus or train so for me it's all part of the Disney experience. Even at home going to DL and DCA from a hotel you can walk. My only drive is seven hours down to Anaheim and 7 hours back.

Just want to say one thing, I see a lot of people say "just get off the bus"...it's not that easy.

I had an incident about 3 years ago and we were on the bus and it was full but no one was standing up yet so the bus driver waited and waited for at least 15-20 minutes for more people to get on. The bus got extremely full and I had a panic attack due to my claustrophobia so I asked people to move so I could get off. A few people yelled at me to sit down and not to try and get off because they wanted to get home.

Also, I was at the back of the bus so I needed to get off thru the back door and the driver was near that door telling people to move in more so the door could shut...it wouldn't shut because there were too many people and he was still trying to get more people on! Anyway, I tried to get off and the driver started screaming at me and not to get off! I got off anyway and he kept yelling at me so I yelled back and said there were way too many people on that bus and he was crazy to make more people get on. A few people near the door followed us off too and I heard people around the bus saying they would just wait for another bus.

After that, we took taxis the rest of the trip. The sad part, I love taking the buses when I am there and it took away from my Disney experience not being able to take them after that because I was scared.

it doesn't matter how full the bus is......if it rolls the 1 or 100 people on the bus will be hurt badly when there are no seat belts..............disney dont take this as a request for seat belts on the bus

There's is nothing more magical to me than being able to go somewhere when I want to go, not have to wait at all, and not be crowded by a bunch of strangers.

That is why I always have my own vehicle.

Funny, I have the opposite complaint. I get ticked off when a bus drives off and it's not packed to the brim and I am left waiting. I'll stand on a bus I don't care. Also, when have you eve heard of a bus injusry at Disney in the 40 years of WDW? I have never heard anything major.

Personally, while I totally get the full bus thing, I've seen a few that have crossed the line. Everything has a capacity point. Just because some busses don't do it, some do. I've seen them cram people in so tight, people standing couldn't move their arms. Ive seen them pack people in around the wheelchairs that are tied down. Those are places NO ONE is supposed to stand. Personally, I'd rather wait for the next bus. Normally, we hang out in the parks for an extra 45min-1hr.

I've always been amazed with the WDW busses by when it is crowded. People refuse to make room by moving to the back of the bus and force onboarding passengers to squeeze through their bottleneck to make it to the back of the bus.

When it is that time of the night and very high demand. I think people would be more courteous and go directly to the back of the bus (unless elderly/handicap/ or otherwide) to allow for the bus to fill up quickly. Instead I often see everyone fill up all the seats then people take the front of the bus standing and no one goes to stand in the raise back half of the bus.
