So ... silly question i'm sure! Is package delivery to your resort a perk for staying on property or is it a perk at staying at a deluxe resort?

All Disney resorts have package delivery.

We love package delivery.Use it all them time and have never had any trouble. Once we had a broken mug but was replaced without question. Just have to make sure that you dont send anything on the day before check out. It takes 24 hours to get your delivery!! Is great your excited when you buy your stuff then you get to excited all over again when you pick it up from the gift shop!!!!

Hey DGirl!

It's a perk for just staying on property. We frequent the Value's and use the service every trip. We love the convenience. Just double check toward the end of your trip though, you can't use it if you're checking out within a certain amount of time (maybe 48 hours?).

They say the package will be there by 1pm the next day so if you are checking out the next day you can't do it. We actually had things sent back the day before checkout because we were meeting our car to take us to another resort at 3pm - even though we checked out at 9am. Packages were there waiting for us!

Though I wouldn't recommend risking it if you are checking out next day even if you are leaving at 1pm or later - we did because we would still be in the area and could drop by and pick them up if we had to.

Oh - a good additional question was brought up. Someone said, "pick up in the gift shop". When we stayed at the Deluxes, they were in our room, waiting for us! Is that only offered at the Deluxes? If staying at PORS, do I need to pick up at the gift shop?

Yes, at PORS you pick up your packages in the gift shop. The pick up is in the back by the doors that go out towards the bus depot. I don't know about the other resorts though.

It has been my experience in POR, I picked up in the gift shop. When we stay at the Boardwalk we find the packages in our room.:wave:

Def at gift shop now. When we went previously it was always in our rooms ( moderates) and I liked that..a LOT..lol.. never carried a single item we bought. This past trip I had nothing sent back to the resort..but my son did several times and had no issues.

Oh just so you know typically you get a call to your resort room when your packages are ready for pick-up. You can check before if you want to but I always just waited for the phone call. If you are out of the room they will leave a message so if your phone is flashing message go ahead and listen. It is probably from Disney letting you know something is up or something is at the package pick up location and they will let you know where you can your stuff in the message.

I've never received a message, I've always just gone to the gift shop the next day. This is at Contemporary and Polynesian. These days, the "to your room" delivery is reserved for Club Level guests.

Oh, that explains it then. The last 2 trips to WDW, we were upgraded to conceirge level rooms. So that explains why they were in the rooms. Okay, so basically you pick up at the gift shop and you may or may not get a phone call/message.

You can also have purchases made at another resort sent to your "home" resort! A few years ago my DH bought me a robe at the Grand Floridian. I had my initials embroidered on it and had to delivered when it was ready to Pop Century!
