What are some things on which you just absolutely hate Disney for doing so much you just feel like going and burning down Animal Kingdom or California Adventure:lol: ?

Just a sample of my large list-

1)Closing most of Future World at 6 or 7 pm. I don't see what's the point in that!

2)Not taking their time on building Animal Kingdom. It could be twenty times better if they hadn't rushed.

3)Taking out Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Everybody's favorite, pretty much no one hated it, and they have to take it out.

4)CLOSING ALIEN ENCOUNTER  . There's a free building called the Metropolis Science Center across from AE where Stitch could have been!

Here goes

1. Shutting down Hunchback show...

2. Cutting hours

3. Filling in the quaint cul de sac on Main Street for retail space

4..Getting rid of the Walt Disney story for Kodak

5. The 18 month long pink castle cake

6. No more free valet parking

7. Closing River Country.....

Disney has been doing a lot of excellent things recently. I'm really quite pleased - even on the most recent visit, I noticed a TON more upkeep. It's really awesome.

On the things I haven't been too happy about. . .

1. Enchanted Tiki Room - Under New Management
Can you say not fitting, weak, and insulting? Now that Iago and Zazu are in Philharmagic, I'd say do something else with Tiki. Too bad Stitch is going in AE - they could have added him in Tiki to get lines up and add classical flavor (ingredient) back.

2. Food Rocks, Test Track, and Imagination
While Food Rocks is the strongest of the three (as in it stays dedicated to nutrition), they all replaced classic attractions with MUCH shorter rides with half quality. Imagination is the worst. Test Track I'd say is in the middle, but it still doesn't have the whole motion concept. Or quality. I've found these three a shame. I think the one with potential was Test Track; if only 'Motion' could have stayed, and then add the thrill ride. WoMotion was what EPCOT was about. . . . Test Track is generally weak.

3. Chester and Hester's DinoRAMA
This thing is probably the worst of all. I mean, carnival games? Milking the guests pocketbooks? This is the reason why Walt built the theme park - so it WOULDN'T be like this. The area, to me, is ugly. It's cute and clever as a carnival, but seems most unfitting. I mean, at least they could offer more Disneyesque prizes. But this hole place gets me sick.

4. Goofy's Dancing Jamboree
Hmm...I might tie this with Dino-Rama. That place . . . was just ugly. The color scheme is unfitting. The show is fictionized. It's lost autheticity. Teach kids to dance at Fort Wilderness . . . Toontown Fair . . . but please. I walked out of that building during a show for the first time ever. And the shows there used to be GOOD.

5. Songs and Audio-Animatronics
We're severely losing both. Mission: Space has a theme song, but personally, I don't find it that flavorful as far as Disney/EPCOT goes. I applaud the step in the right direction, but I really hope to see more originality in style and memorability in theme for the future. Animatronics - I hope they're making a comeback. But we've lost hundreds of these effective story-tellers.
Those are the main things. There are other topics like Management and Security that Disney MUST get its act together on.

But I thought it would be fun to talk about the good stuff!

1. Little Projects - like Kitchen Karnivale
This was a surprise! Seeing a large-sized tribute to Kitchen Kabaret is a DREAM! Everyone write in - express how happy this makes you feel. Things like this really morph the visit.

2. Carousel of Progress and Timekeeper
They're now open - with decent guests! I applaud managment and operations for reopening these two attractions seasonally - and maybe while AE is closed! And I could only hope for beyond. It shows great strength in management.

3. Magical Gatherings
A promotion based on Walt's vision of the theme park - that's MAJOR strength right there! Philharmagic and Wishes were OUTSTANDING. And I am excited to see the new attractions coming in the next few years!

4. Lucky the Dinosaur
Breakthrough in Audio-Animatronics. THIS is good! I hope it clears the way for more Animatronics to come to the park. I'd pay double admission to AK just to visit Lucky for a minute. Wait. . . don't get any ideas, Disney! (just kidding :p) :).

5. Shops and Merchandise
YES!! Main Street Gallery is BACK! I love that place. . . and the other shops, too. And don't forget - Disneyland is NOW getting a new version of Disneyland Forever that might make it here! Let Disney know you love this merchandise. . . who knows, with things like Kitchen Karnivale, getting soundtracks of old attractions, along with DVD footage that Disney has lying on the shelves, may not be as hard. THAT would be the best!

Note - all of the new projects have been taken on under Jay Rasulo. The other ones have been generally taken on from the time prior...I won't mention names. I hope Rasulo can take a look at the bad decisions of the past, and continue to balance classic attractions with new, beneficial attractions that increase attendance while keeping truly in tune with the theme park purpose.

This isn't to say everythings going to be happy and jolly - I can only hope Gemini doesn't change the meaning of EPCOT. I hope that attractions like Spaceship Earth can stay, while attractions like Wonders of Life can be refurbished - and I don't mean Toy Story and stuff like that.

Alright..time for lunch.

It goes with the Dinoland USA story.

Things I hate Disney for?

By far, no question would be the removal of 20K Under the Sea.

It was my favorite ride and still ranks up there with the top ten on my list.

As a kid my grandparents would pick me up from elementary and take me out to the Mouse's House for a few hours. First place we'd go to would be 20K. When I found out they had closed it forever one day I turned to my grandparents and said "Take me home" then started crying.

I even remember vowing never to come back to Disney because of it. People thought it was me just saying it because I was upset. Next time I set foot inside the Mouse's House was Oct 18th, 1998. Opening night for Fantasmic! and the first day back forever. Annual passes and soon, I would be working for the Mouse six years later at Indy then it was on to ISTC.

I still kick back and laugh at what I said, then look where I'm at today.

Other things would be the removal of the Skyway from FantasyLand/Tomorrowland. Its not Disney's fault that Dumb***fell out, he should've known better!!!

-Although I was scared to death afterwards, Mr Toads Ride, went on it as a kid and cant remember a lot about it other than a lot of jerking around and all.

-Making that God Awful track for the 10th Gate to the underworld, AKA: Its a Small World After All.

-Letting the Living Seas go to crap.

-Keeping UoE open with Ellen.

-Hrm, yep, thats about it. Theres a few others but their too small to really worry about.

About the Skyway. I was at Busch Gardens on friday, and I rode their Skyway. Im glad Disney took it out. The BG one makes the park look so junky (even though it is) and its very labor intensive. The park would look alot more carnival' ly with it still there. Not to get into it alot, but it wasnt the guys fault that he died, it was the guy at the other station's fault, and they didnt take it out because of that. If that was the case, Thunder Mountain would be getting demolished as we speak.

but anyway...

I hate Disney for:

1)Mostly, putting all kinds of merchandise in all kinds of shops. I think they should keep some stuff exclusive to some areas. A prime example of this is the fact that they have lotions, pillows, all this girly stuff....in the Beastly Bazarre shop at AK. I always thought that was weird...
2)Putting FP on rides that dont need it. Living with the Land, Haunted Mansion are two that really dont need it. Even Buzz Lightyear. Those lines, most times of the year, would never go above 30 mins with no fastpass. Fastpass can turn a 20 minute wait, into an hour wait. On some rides, such as MS, and TOT, it works great, but on some, it was a bad idea

Grizz, about Dino-Rama, you can look at it from both ends. This wasnt a low budget project. I think it was somwhere near a 50 million dollar budget, but thats just what I heard. The theming is great. The carnival games, cheap junky cars, crazy colors, and all around wackyness fits in perfectly. And come on, it's TONS better than that tent thing that was there.

I don't seem to remember a tent thing there. I just find it totally out of place...that's just me...parkwise and theory-wise (remind me to pull out my Walt Disney Quote book  ).

ONE MORE THING. I don't hate Disney for anything, because they're trying. I'm upset, yes.

I HATE this:

MERCHANT OF VENUS.

Shirts with "YOU CAN'T HAVE ME" or "I AM A CHICK."

That is crap and the whole area music - or rather, modern stuff played in there - is exactly what it is - crappy. It's weak and REALLY gets me mad at Disney. Ugh. I'm not even gonna continue. Grrrrrr

Ugh. Blah. Eeacch!

Haha, my friend loves that store. She likes the old retro MMC and POC shirts. They play Disneymania in there now, so atleast its Disney music there playing in there

That tent was more themed to Dinoland than that trash they have there now.

Least in the tent you could search for dino bones. and they get rid of something that actually delt with the theming of the area, for that garbage?

I seem to remember SeaWorld having the EXACT same exibit on dino's 2 years before AK opened. You can still look for bones in the Boneyard:lol:  lol

I also am not in favor of Merchants of Venus also. It's a horrible place. I mean, when you exited the former AE attraction, to the right was little thing with AE stuff, to the left was one with Lilo and Stitch stuff, and then everything else was Tinkerbell or Disney Princess crap. Oh yeah, on a wall they had some shirts up, but THATS IT. I remember when the store was never like this. Remember when they made t-shirts there, and you could watch the shirts being made from the window outside. That was the good ol' days............

IF Dino-Rama cost $50M then I think I know how to help Disney's stock price. Send the imagineers responsible for Dino-Rama to work for Universal. Universal will be bankrupt in five years.

Am I missing something? What did 'Dumbo 3' cost to make? If it cost more than $2M I'd be surprised. And Primeval Whirl, while fun, seems pretty inexpensive. I'll even give it $10M to design and build. Where'd the other $38M go? The trailers for the midway games????

I think the whole thing looks out of place. Throw out the trailers, throw down some grass seed and shrubbery and throw up a building around Primeval Whirl, then it will at least resemble a Disney property.

Nevertheless, my kids love it.

I would like to see how it affected attendance. If it hardly did a thing, they'd be better off starting a fund for Beastly Kingdom. . . if the executives passed the idea.

Ah, johnvree ya beat me to it.

Grizz, you want to talk about Attendance? You wouldnt believe it but when I was on my way to the Tarzan area to get some shots of the bridge to EE, I went down the path that runs along the Chester and Heaster's Garbage Dump and on a guesstimation Id say I saw about 75 people in that area.

I dont know about you, but thats a lot of people who took the time out of their day to stop by Disney's only visiable trash dump.

Ok, bad attempt at a joke but damn it, they need to do something about that place, and quick.

And someone please shoot that dang dinosaur that runs around every so often next time you see him.

But Id say over all, that trash dump prolly costed no more than 3-5 mill IF that to build it.

I just want to know one thing. What I God's name were the people who finalized this project on when they gave it the green light?
