Things that drive you crazy

I give up my seat for anyone and everyone. That's just how I was raised. Plus, I don't mind standing..I still feel like a little kid standing up and looking at everything below on the monorail ride to the parks and back to the hotel :)

People who feel the need to stand right behind you in line. It makes me feel uncomfortable. It's okay to stand a little ways back.
Agreed!

You don't there any quicker by crowding others. And especially when it is hot, the more space, the better.

I have never understood why people crowd others in line. What is the point?

It's because they are not very smart.

1 - Same with the buses, I give up my seat alot, and have made my niece do it also. She gets mad at me now but has also started doing it without me asking her to.
2 - People crowding me in line. I'm one of those 'give me some freaking space' people, even with boyfriends and friends, so totaly strangers kind of irritate me.
3 - When someone stops walking right in front of me in the middle of say Main St, which in turn usually ends up with me walking on their heels. I don't know why but it drives me insane...

I'm sure I'll think of more while I'm shopping lol.

People that get off the monorail or a bus and just stop in the middle to take a picture/look at map/get on cellphone.

Listen it's bad enough people do this on the subway. I'm on vacation - just please if you have to be a tourist move to the side and be a tourist.

This drives me nuts. Along the same lines, stopping and having a discussion, reading a map, returning a text, or just lingering in the middle of an obvious pinch point, such as a doorway, queue entrance, or walkway bottleneck.

I know I've done this occasionally, but I am always mad at myself and step aside, and drag my party with me, as soon as I realize.

We're here just now and a few things I have noticed are as follows:

People who walk into a store and let the door close behind them not even looking back. Where I was raised I always hold a door open for someone and sometimes too much so (the other night I held the door open for about 10 people at Downtown Disney).

The stopping and taking pictures thing - especially at the busiest points off the park, then they get annoyed about the constant people walking past.

And lastly which is a common one, is the every man for themselves end of the night at Magic Kingdom. The pushing and the general rudeness. I thought it was a cultural thing what with me being from Scotland but I remember standing next to an American woman who said that exact thing on the ferry coming from MK.

Well, OP you are going to hate me for this one then. I don't know that little girl cradled in the arms of the bear. Normally I would never waste photos on characters, but having been the father of two little girls and the grandfather of two others, I thought that this was the cutest thing I had ever seen. So if this little girl is related to someone on the boards, I apologize. It never crossed my mind that anyone might be upset by it, my intentions and thoughts were absolutely innocent and was taken with the warm feeling that only a parent can really feel.

As for the bus and the seating. I think it is very nice if someone gets up and gives a seat to someone that seems to need it more then they do, but that is a personal decision. It is a decision based on many things but the biggest is what condition the person is in. I look pretty healthy and for the most part I am but my knees and my hips may be on fire. You won't see that and I won't tell you at the time, but I got to the bus earlier, my joints are hurting bad, I took a seat because I got to the bus earlier and as far as I am concerned you can be as judgmental as you like. I am staying were I am unless I see someone that appears to be in worse condition then I.

This is my point exactly. You shouldn't have to say anything. A child or young adult should just stand and give you the seat.

Sometimes I take pictures of the characters without kids in them, though I guess without looking at my cameras screen it might not look that way. Like the angle I'm at or the way its zoomed in will only get the character, but to an outsider it might look like I'm taking a picture of the kid. I like the characters, and I don't like waiting in line to see them, what can I say lol.

lol No I totally understand that, but Im talking about the ones snapping pictures when the kids are in the pose with the character for photo pass guy or for the parents.

Well, in spite of the fact that it would involve me, I don't think that if I look OK that they should give up their seat. If I couldn't handle standing I'd wait for another bus or whatever. I was referring to why I wouldn't give my seat to someone even though to others it might look like they need it more than I do. If I could see that they needed it more or if they asked me and told me a reason why then I would give it to them.

On our first trip in Sept 08, there was a couple taking pictures of Woody and Jessie over by Splash Mountain. The only problem was that our kids were up there with them and were in the middle of posing. The PhotoPass guy stopped, turned to the couple and asked if they were their kids(knowing they weren't). When their response was no then he asked them nicely to not take pictures of someone elses kids. This is what should be done.

As far as there being no way around it, if you want a character's photo then get your behind in line like the rest of us did.

I always give up my seat at WDW for the elderly or people who actually need it. On real public transport I do not however as I paid for that seat so have the right to sit there and will only move if someone who really needs it gets on and no one else moves.

Only other things that bother me is people stopping or turning around suddenly down walk ways, people on their phones on rides and during shows. People that put kids up on their shoulders right in front of me, fat people on those mobility scooters getting on buses first with their large families and taking up all the seats as well as the scooter taking up three seats when the person can walk just fine. People misusing disability cards. People who think they know everything but are in fact giving out false information. People who elbow their way through crowds for no reason. There's probably more.

I have seen many threads like this over the years and they never end very well..

Ohhhh the bus debate.

The AMOUNT of dirty looks I got when I was in WDW last year on the buses, as I look very fit and healthy, but you can't see a bad back can you!! - It really made me mad that other women were looking at me like dirt because I wouldn't give my seat up for them! (I'm a woman) A lot of the time, after 8+ hours on my feet and 30+ minutes standing waiting for the bus my back is knackered. But you can't see that. So not everyone who doesn't give up their seat is selfish.

ALSO - there have been times when I have been nearly sobbing in visible pain on the bus, as I have had to stand whilst my back had been bad. I have had people bumping into me, and leaning on me whilst I've been in such pain, and "people who look physically able" have not offered me their seat (but then, due to my first comment they may have been in pain too)

So I have seen both sides of the coin.
I can say though, that having a car for the 2nd week of the holiday was bliss!

Things that annoy me in WDW....
1. People STOPPING right in front of you so you nearly fall over.
2. People getting too close in the lines.
3. Sweaty people standing RIGHT in front of me as I'm trying to watch the Voices of Liberty.
4. People SWEATING on me whilst sitting on the bus (no joke, this actually happened)

I was at EPCOT a few years back and Mickey, Minnie, and their friends came out dressed in holiday costumes. I was on my way to meet my family for lunch so I was alone. I wanted to snap pics of the characters. I was told by the CM's not to stand in line if I wanted pictures of the characters by themselves, because it threw off their counts for knowing when to close the line.

I wanted my pictures without anyone else, but other people, kids and adults ended up in a few, because the CM's work people through the process so fast there isn't much of a chance to get a shot with them alone.

Also, I hope I didn't offend anyone with disabilities, invisible or otherwise. I will never give someone sitting a dirty look and I don't think.its fair for other people to. So if my original bus statement offended anyone I apologize

So, then what is the proper way to get the pictures of the characters without other peoples kids in the photos?
