Ok,

So i've been to Disney so many times lately, yet, there's quite a few things I've never done. My wife and I normally go for long weekends and just hit the main things. However, this time we are going back for six days and will probably do things we have not done in the past.

If you guys/gals could give me some information from first hand points of view on which of the following I should do and in which order. Also if you feel that I should skip any of the following please let me know.

first off, we never watch live shows becuase I'm not big on plays, but we may this time, so let me know what you think.

We will be there for our anniversary and are 24, and 26 to give you an idea of what we may like.

1) Of course I've not see Mickey's Philharmagic and am looking forward to this. What are the lines like?

2) Goofy's Jamboree: I dont know if it's for kids or not.

3) Mission Space: It was open last time but we were in a hurry. My wife won't ride it but Im building up the courage. I love rollercoasters but am for some reason nervous about this one from reading all the posts.

4) Beauty and the Beast: Never seen any live show. Normally dont like them.

5) Tarzan: another live show.

6) Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade. never seen it!

7) the daily parade in MGM, never seen it!

Can you guys/gals help me out here!?!

philharmagic was about 30 minutes wait, it was ok, people tend to make it sound better on this forum. dont fear mission space its not that bad and in my opinion its really freakin neat, nothing else like it and no coaster will ever duplicate the feeling! tarzan was good and the jungle parade is fun but not great.

I would skip Goofy's Jamboree.

This past August we did a few new things...the safari in AK, Its Tough to Be A Bug, Big Thunder Mountain. We never did get to the parade in the MK. We try to do a least one new thing each trip.

Have not seen PhilarMagic myself: sorry cant help you there.

Goofy Jamboree: its OK the characters come out and dance with the childern. I got to see teh special sneak peak..

Mission:Space: You are going to love it!!!!!!Best !!!!

Beauty and the Beast: Great show, i mean some is changed from the movie but other wise it is good :). I love it.

Tarzan: another good show lots of skating, singing, and areobatics.

Mickeys Jammin Jungle Parade: Good beat to the parade on of the better ones on property> Lots of momvement...

Disney Stars in Motorcars Parade at MGM: Not that great, you see stars from disney movies in their own motocars made to fit their movie......

Goofy's Jamboree: Unless you see it with kids, I suggest you skip it.

Mission Space: Fantastic experience! Ride it at least once to see what everyone's been talking about. Just be sure not to eat before going on........

Beauty and the Beast: Saw it for the very first time back in September. I thought it was OK, but I admit I'm not a huge fan of the Disney movie.

Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade: High energy and loads of fun.

The daily parade in MGM: IMO, this parade only ranks third out of the three daily parades the different parks offer.

Hi civileng, hopefully I can help

Philarmagic: I loved it, it was my favorite 3D show and it was very funny...funny for adults and kids alike...my party ranged from ages 18-46 and we all got a kick out of it

Mission: Space- Really liked it...like someone else said, you definitely can't eat or drink before riding...my cousin's boyfriend drank ALL the cokes from the Ice Station Cold place or whatever and he ended up in the bathroom after the ride....I was the only one who survived the Gforces

Tarzan Rocks: sorry, didn't like it

Beauty and the Beast: cute show, my mom ALWAYS has to see it when we go to MGM because it's her favorite movie...so while we enjoy ToT and RnRC she enjoys her favorite show

Stars and Motor Cars Parade in MGM: it's a cute parade I thought the concept was cute.

my own personal additions

I had been dying to see American Adventure for a long time and last trip I saw it...what an awesome show! My cousin's husband and I really appreciated the way this show was done...the audio-animatronics were lifelike and it just moves you completely the song and narration, everything....

That's it...if I think of anything else I'll let you know! :)

Congradulations!

We are close to your age group (24 and 28) and went last Decemeber for our anniversary. We also brought along a couple of guy friends (23 and 25). It was great! We did all, but Goofy's Jamboree. I do have on suggestion though.

If you've never done a character meal, do it! :) We do Mickey's Restrauntosaurus. It's fun, quick, and the food isn't bad (though sometimes they tend to bypass adults, or spend very little time at your table).

But, as for the rest - do Mission:Space and talk her into it as well. The Ride isn't as bad as all that IF you follow the instructions (keep your head back and your eyes open - blinking too long or closing your eyes can lead to disorientation). Even if you don't enjoy it, in my book, it's one of those one-of-a-kind experiences you have to do at least once.

Depending on what time of year you're going of philharmagic, you may have a long wait. Since we go off season, we literally walked in. We just went on other Fantasyland rides until show time and walked right on in!

Beauty and the beast is a great stage show. It's fun. As is Tarzan Rocks (usually, they have some great singers, and the acrobatics are fun to watch as well).

As for the parades:
Disney MGM's stars and motor cars parade is probably my FAVORITE! It's great fun and very creative.
The Animal Kingdom parade is fun to - another favorite I regret missing out on last time! Depending on the time of year, you might have to scope out a spot early. We just hopped up on the wall by the Pizzafari and had the best seats in the house, with minimal wait.

Enjoy your time! :) and Congrads! :)

PS - if you can swing it and love gourmet dining, plan a meal at Victoria and Alberts! Expensive, yes, but well worth it!

We also enjoyed the VIP treatment at the Hoop-De-Doo-Musical-Revue!

Hi there, I have done most of these things so Ill chime in:
1) Philharmagic- this is an absolutel must see. The lines arent too bad usually plus this is a BIG theatre so it usually isnt too bad. Very cute 3 d kinda movie
2 )Goofy's Jamboree I heard it was mainly for kids but never having done it I AM reserving personal judgement!
3) Mission: Space very intense but an awesome ride. Less like a roller coaster & More like a centrifuge kind of ride, similar to the Rotor, or round up in your local type amusementparks. It does hit 3-4 g forces If you have motion sickness I do not recommend this ride for you. Good news is if you arent sureyou can go in see the videos etc and choose to opt out before you get into the ride pod. Go see the show in either event
4) Beauty & The Beast. One of my favorites ( look at the name ) But it is very close to a theatre production, so if you arent into plays ( specifically musicals) this may not thrill you!
5) Tarzan, I LOVE this show. It is kinda like the movie only shorter but with the addition of a rock band, singers, dancers, aerial acrobats, and inline skaters!! Very high energy and quite beautiful!! Dont miss this.
6) Mickey's Jammin' Jungle- Interesting to watch and I kinda dig the music but it isnt a Must do on my list. If I catch it great of not OK
7) Stars & Motor Cars Parade in MGM Same as the Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade
8) Off Kilter in the Canada Pavilion, Check out this wild band in the Canada Pavilion in World Showcase. They play from Sunday thru Thursday 3-4 shows daily, check you guide map for times. These guys combine Celtic Folk music, bagpipes and rock & roll. One of the single best acts in all of Disney!!!
Hope this helps, Belle

on Tarzan Rocks!

i LOVE tarzan rocks. if shows aren't your think, i still think you'll enjoy it, as long as it isnt wet. part of the show doesnt happen if the ground could be wet.

as for the other things, i'd say everyone else said what i would say. philharmagic was sort of a let down, i was expecting more but i guess it was good either way.

oh yea, and if you're going to go see Beauty and the Beast, go early enough so that you can see the preshow (assuming it's still 4for a dollar):)

have fun!

wannabeBelle... you beat me to the punch. I wanted to say 'Go see Off-Kilter'.

Honestly, I don't think you (civileng68)... would enjoy Beauty and the Beast too much. The music is good, but over all it is very formulamatic and plain. Their really isn't anything that would make you go 'WOW' and seem worth your wild.

And before I get flamed on that... that is my opinion. Personally, the best show on property was closed in the Fall of 2002. May the Bells ring forever in our hearts.

Tarzan Rocks is a more unique show. I has a couple of unique acts, and I think the visuals are great. The music is more rock-centric than Alan Menkin and Tim Rice, and the extreme sports motive is frankly, quite cool.

But when it comes to 'shows', the life music is much better. There is a lot of talent at Disney, but unfortunately it's hidden by a lot of the ride-type attractions.

As far as things never done, we're taking the Backstage Tour at MK later this year (Christmas to be exact). Has anyone been on it? What do you think? Is it worth it? With the usual crowds, we figured to get out of the way.

Definitely check out the Stars and Motorcars parade at the Studios, it's one of my favourites. Also definitely check out Mission:SPACE, it's one of the best Disney attractions ever.

[1) Mickey's Philharmagic is great. When I went in November lines where as long from 30-60 minutes. Just get a fastpass. Save yourself the time.

2) Mission Space is great. Just go on the single rider line and the longest you will wait is five minutes. If you get motion sickiness easily, take a motion sickiness pill.

3) MGM Motor Car Parade is very cute. I liked the parade a lot.

Hey there Legacy!!! Nice to meet another Off Kilter fan!! There actually seems to be quite a few of us on these boards. I only discovered them last May, Where was I before that?? Actually I think it was just sheer bad timing on my part as they dont play on the weekends, and that is most likely when I plan for EPCOT as the MK and MGM are too crowded then!! I am working on getting them videotaped and on the Boards for all to look at!!! But nothing could beat seeing the antics live!!! For a sneak preview of ther music go to WWW.Offkilter.Net.
Another live act that I saw recently was in the Mexico Pavilion. I didnt catch the name of the band but they did some very Selena type of music, including a few songs I know that Selena did ( I have seen the movie a few dozen times) I Had a great time dancing and singing with the band. The lead singer was a very nice young lady who was pretty good about getting me up to dance, although a couple got up to dance and were spectacular!!!
Have a great time and dont forget to stop & smell the roses!! Belle

Can you guys/gals help me out here!?!

Of the ones you are requesting info on, I have only done the Beauty and Beast show and Mission Space. I was not a fan of the Beauty and the Beast show, but I think it is because I alway am on the move.

I loved Mission Space. I see how someone could get sick, but it did not make me sick at all. I thought it was excellent.

Other things you might want to try if you haven't:

Dinner at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary during the fireworks. When we were there a couple of weeks ago we had a window seat and it was excellent. Food is great, and they had excellent bloody marys if you like them.

The Cinderella's Surpise Celebration was nice.

If you decide to go to Downtown Disney one night and are going to go right after the parks. Take a bus from the park to Port Orleans and take the riverboat ride up the Sassagoula River to the Downtown Disney. It is a nice relaxing ride. I love it.

i havent done everything you mentioned but here is what i have seen:

mission:space - do it! i did it in august with both of my parents. just make sure you follow ALL the instructions - dont look from side to side. my mom and i both made that mistake and i felt lightheaded/nauseous afterwards [not good since we were flying that day to come home and i get sick on the plane] and my mom, who has multiple sclerosis, her hands "locked" and she couldnt move them because of the disorientation she felt. but im glad i did it and i liked it a lot - even if i did feel a little woozy afterwards :D

the beauty and the beast show was great. i love the movie and the broadway play so i thought it was fantastic if you're looking to have a break and relax in the middle of the day.

most of all - have fun!:sohappy:

You just gotta see Beauty And The Beast Show and The Lion King at AK, Tarzan is good but not as good as the other two.
Make sure that you see the parades.
