Sorry, I have seen posts about this but I searched and could not find.
Where are the scale models of all or any of the 4 parks on display in WDW?

I don't believe that any of the park models are on display at this time.

As a matter of fact, I don't think there are any whole Disney park models on display anywhere in the world right now.

There aren't really models of the full parks anywhere, but you'll find pices from full models on Display at Walt Disney One Man's Dream at MGM Studios.

There is a proposed model of Epcot on the TTA, but epcot's design changed so much, it's not able to be recongised (sp).

Beyond that, I don't know of any models in the parks. there used to be some at Exposition Hall, but they have all been removed.

There was/is (don't know the current state) a Scale model of Disneyland on opening day in the 50 magical years exibit on Main Street in Disneyland.

You could always hitch a ride with on of those annoying sky-writers (JESUS LOVES YOU!), look down, and pretend you're looking at a scale model...:lookaroun

My impression was that it would close with the retrospective film at the end of the promotion. I haven't heard one way or the other about it, though.

Similarly, there was until recently a model of the Hong Kong Disneyland park in the China pavilion at Epcot.

Does anyone know what came of the DisneySea model? That was on display somewhere before the park opened, as many of these sorts of models usually are, but I lost track of it.

I can't remember if it was complete, but there was a model of Disney's America traveling with the Designing Disney's Theme Parks: The Architecture of Reassurance exhibit.

That is what I was looking for. I have never seen the One Man's Dream before. Seems like I go to MGM once a year on my AP. Will have to zip over there on my way to AK some time. (BTW, it was the model of AK that I most wanted to see... *weep*)

At One Man's Dream, you'll find scale models of...

Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Disneyland Main Street USA.
An empty case where the jungle cruise scale model usually is (out on loan).
Cinderella Castle
Tree of Life
Spaceship Earth
The MGM Sorcerers Hat
Discovery Bay (I think) at DisneySea
Grizzly River Rapids at DCA.
Castaway Cay
EDIT: Tower of Terror (Thanks, madison -- I knew I was forgetting one of the buildings)

(Anything I'm missing?)

Perhaps it's gone, but there was at one time a model of Florida's Tower of Terror in addition to everything you've listed. There's a Nautilus hanging from the ceiling as well, isn't there? While not strictly a theme park model, it's neat.

Where's the Jungle Cruise gone to?

Well, 2 suggestions. 1. Disney Cruise Line does have a "cut" model of the ship at port canaveral. Its big and you can look inside. 2. Start buying monorails and cheap buildings that go with it and build your own. We did. Its cruddy!

Yes I know that this is off topic but does anyone know if those sky-writers are hired by Disney?

Noo, definately not. They apparently fly up right on the boundaries of Disney property, where Disney can't do anything about them.

If Disney hired them, they'd probably say something more along the lines of "Stitch waz here!!" or "Want to know the Best Kept Disney Secret?"

The Main Street Exposition Hall -Right Side Garden door entrence was home to : the Walt Disney Story from 1973 to 1995 ( I believe).

A Small Scale model of the Magic Kingdom was on display there and temporily relocated from time to time to showcase other models and attractions coming to WDW.

Models I can remember :

The Magic Kingdom 1973 - 1980 , 1982 -1987, 1989 - 1994
Epcot 1980 - 1982
Disney-MGM Studios 1987 -1989
Animal Kingdom ( Dinoland ) 1994 -1997
Disney Cruise Ship -The Magic 1994 - 1997

The magic kingdom, epcot and the studios was presented by an AA Owl ,who showed concept drawings in a book with automatic pages.models of certain ride scenes, concept art,and a short movie showing construction of the disney sites and Imaginerring studios. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSgAroeQoik

The last time this area was used was during the Disney 25th Birthday Celebration- thats when AK ,DCL , a special 25th poster and pin , along with a gift shop of 1998 AK hats, shirts and pins were sold.

Kodak took over the area in 1999....

There is a scale model of Disneyland from 1955 in the Lobby of the Opera House at Disneyland, and there is also an N scale main street set up at the Disney Gallery above Pirates as well.

Anyone notice the strange thing about the SSE model in One Mans Dream? Specifically the Earthstation / (New) Global Neighborhood area?

Are you referring to the huge cylinder directly underneath SSE (centered between the "legs") on the model? I alwyas presumed that was just to hold up the ball on the model itself, not intended to be a true representation.
