The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

I guess I'll say it:

They managed to put up almost every decoration for Sleeping Beauty Castle in one night on July 16, the night before the actual 50th there. Granted, that castle is smaller, but why is the crest, which could obviously be put up in a matter of an hour or two, put up months ahead of the actual anniversary date?

I know it is a little silly but we have a "first timer" going with us next year during this 50th thing and I would have preferred that the castle look normal. But I guess in the grand scheme of things that is not even a blip on the radar of garbage that will likely go wrong next year. LOL

Maybe they want it completed so they could start testing for the new 50th show. Probably for the projection mapping.

I agree. For locals or those who go often it’s not so great seeing this or the other decorations that were added awhile ago, way ahead of the Anniversary.

Is it...crooked?
(slightly leaning to the left?)

Or it could be the angle of the pictures but so far every one released makes it look off.

If it is crooked, there is nothing they can do about it unfortunately because all of the supports for it, where it basically slides into were placed there months ago. So it would be the support holes that would be crooked. I think it may just be the angle of the pictures though.

It isn't crooked. It is an optical illusion caused by the 0 next to the 5. The 0 is up higher on the right and it sort of seems to be a little more left than it should be causing the whole thing to look warped and off a little bit.

I was looking at the point at the very top of the crest. I'm sure it's just an illusion though.

I think it's pretty. I just wish they used more of the background colors of the crest. It doesn't look like it fully matches the rest of the castle, and I think they could have matched to colors a bit better.

Yikes. Now that's what I call UGLY!! Give me this new design anyday over that gaudy mess 🤮🤢
To be fair, it did house a mechanism that rotated to showcase the castles from all parks at that time. And it looked a little better from farther away.

The new 50th sign is fine though that background looks like it'll be hard to have the colors "pop" if the sun's not hitting it.
