Hard to have real footage when the village is only about 90% complete and there is still scaffolding up. I'm sure there will be real footage when it's complete.

There I was thinking it was CGI because there aren't rivers, mountains, snow, and flying kids on broomsticks in Islands of Adventure.

btw, there will be snow at IoA in some capacity, and there may also be kids (and adults) on broomsticks, but god forbid that a commercial for Harry Potter have kids on broomsticks. Talk about a reach for something to complain about.

I'm not a huge fan of Harry Potter or anything, i have just seen a couple of the movies and read my little brother some of the books. I think its a neat idea for the park though, The website for this addition really wowed me, but this commercial didn't really make it seem as exciting as the features of the website did. its just a lackluster ad.

Time to take a snooze on a hyped up large castle. After one year this exhibit will be like the rest of Universal no big crowds and a feeling that our all alone.

Just my opinion, as I believe I'm entitled to on my own site here.

CGI doesn't do anything for me to help promote something such as this. Just like when you see previews of video games that don't show in-game graphics. It's what's in the park that counts, and that CGI ad doesn't show me any of that. I think if anything, that ad will set people up for disappointment when they see the real thing. The reality of what has been built is nowhere near the scale and level of immersion shown in that CGI.

And it will still be better than anything Disney has built in the last 20 years, and anything they have in the pipeline.

...In WDW, I assume.

Because ignoring what's been built in DL and in TDS is VERY foolish, IMHO.

Otherwise, yes, this does take over WDW.

I don't agree. That ride is going to blow everything out of the water. I don't have any doubt in my mind. RSR may come close. May.

And obviously it's better than anything at WDW. Who needs a bunch of meet and greets?:lol:

Makes me wonder how someone who has not ridden, or even seen all of these things can come to such a conclusion.

Certainly.

It's a CGI mock-up of the land. I don't understand what is being misrepresented. It shows the Hogwarts express, it shows Dragon Challenge (very cool and effectively), and it highlights the castle and a tease of what is inside (kids on broomsticks.)

You may think the real thing is nowhere near the scale or level of immersion of the ad, but I'd have to respectfully disagree. I follow the progress of this project on a daily basis. From what I see and have seen, it will not disappoint. In fact, I think it will prove alot of doubters wrong. The level of detail on the castle alone is amazing. Areas that will (likely) never be in clear view of guests are detailed to look like the real thing.
