Anyone that lets their kids uses these without a helmet and other protection is a bad parent who doesn't care about the saftey of their kids. And since I've never seen a kid with these ridiculous things and a helmet...

Commence flames, but it's the truth.

Notto mention the possible back problems that kids are probably giving themselves by standing and inch higher in the back all the time. I did see a kid get yelled at the other day when i was at the supermarket. It was Awesome! I wanted to kiss the lady but my girfriend was right there so it would have not been a good move.

it is still not nice to say this about another nation even in fun the person should apolagise for the rude ness about his comment on this matter because i did take offense about what was said about my country.

Get over it and move on with your life.

If we were concerned about every single person we could possibly offend with any comment there would be no humor in the world and very little conversation. Welcome to democracy my friend; Live it up.

very fine words from a country that has killed so many people and tried to lay its moral high ground rules around the world and walked over quiet a load of countries.

Maybe you should be the one not throwing stones. You might want to check out your own country's history before making a comment like this.

Really, The battle across the pond again?

COME ON FOLKS. If somebody brings up "bailing out of WWII" again, I might have to eat this fresh pack of Glade Plug-Ins.

Heelies -- Not Evil. Just Misunderstood.

Helmetlessness = Worst Parenting Ever.

Everybody is welcome to have an opinion, it just isn't necessary to express those opinions.

BTW, DID YOU NOT SEE THE BIG EMV COMING AT YOU -- TRY MOVING OUT OF THE WAY. Yes they are hard to drive, and it does happen to be elderly people that don't even qualify for a drivers license that use them. But still. How many times to you have to be hit before you step back and watch for them?

Kids climbing on stuff. No that's a real problem. That's why they put in the Pooh's Playful Spot. If your kids aren't having fun at Epcot, LEAVE! Or write a letter to put back in the upstairs at Imagination and WOL playplaces. Oh wait, that's a whole other topic huh?

Back to the topic. Heelies probably shouldn't be in the parks, but if it's at a quiet section where there is no traffic....who really cares? Is it any worse than running w/a stroller? Just don't throw the new shoes on the kid before they hop into the park. And maybe make sure they are at least 8 and semi-coordinated. First aid doesn't need to set fractures.

Generally I just peruse these boards and don't have much to say except this time. Sorry =)

For one I agree, those Wheelies things are annoying and appear quite dangerous. Working in retail I have seen a few kids get hurt or collide with other guests in my store. Drives me batty.

To the one person that mentioned that the electric carts are a medical need and not a fad, agreed! Lots of guests at Disney parks across the world need them, however we all know and have seen many who do not. This is not the place for THAT discussion. However I have seen MANY MANY MANY inconsiderate folks running around with those electric wheelchairs, strollers, or anything on wheels. I have seen quests use strollers as weapons or plows to get through crowds in WDW or even Great Adventure.

Going into the topic of parents allowing their kids to do whatever they want, I have seen many parents give the reply of... "This is Disney." Err what? Does that give them a license to do whatever they please? Granted Disney is a place for children (although I really don't agree cause it's for everyone), it doesn't give them that right to be stupid. I have also seen parents treat Disney as if it were there home where they can throw trash on the ground, sit where they wish, or just deface property. ?

Now onto the more comedic side of this enormous post. A few years back my father and I were in the stroller area of PoTC when we hear a child in a stroller screaming bloody murder. The mother is behind the stroller and the father was holding a bottle. We hear the kid scream "I don't want to drink it," and the father replies by squirting the bottles contents in the kids face, and saying "Drink it drink it drink it." My father and I nearly died from shock and unfortunately even laughter. We almost look for that family everytime we are in Disney.

Some people shouldn't be parents. There should be some sort of test. =)

Some of the problems also arrise with some of the CM's. The kids should not use the wheelies, but I have seen them go blowing past CM's and nothing is said. I was run into last year getting FP's at Peter Pan and there was a CM right next to me and did not say anything. I imagine it is hard to say something to guests when most just throw insults back.

Last year we were at Epcot and watched parents lifting kids over the railing of the Viking ship that has been closed as a playground for over a year. I watch others walk throught the flower beds around to the back side of the ship and then climb over the railing and board the ship. I saw a security gaurd walking by and went over to him and pointed out the people going into the boat and he said I will come back later and walked away.:veryconfu There were also may other CM's that had walked by during the 20 minutes I was in that area and nothing was said.

Keep up the good work V_misses_epcot. It has to be tough telling idiots that they are idiots because they will infact comeback with a idiotic remark.

I can't stand the heelez either but in all fairness I can't recall any signage that prohibits them. Maybe some has been added since my last trip in mid October but I know the ban has been in place before that rip. Granted there are signs that prohibit bikes etc but as a general rule people will try to find any loophole they can. I am sure the phrase "They are not skates they are Heelez." have been heard by many a cast member.

Don't make yourself feel that it's your fault, it is your duty to tell them not to do that! Also remember a famous saying about the everyday guests at the parks, they leave their common sense at home. In my eyes, CMs are not paid enough for the wonderful job they do(with the exception of two or three that i have met), and are never to be disrespected or shown bad feelings toward.

I just tell the stupid little turds to please not skate around as they may get hurt and we get a lot of injuries due to the wheeliez. Most of the time parents say something like "I TOLD YOU! TAKE THEM OFF!" so luckily I've never gotten a bad response. Then again I'm also very handsome and very good with people.... :king: ... just kidding...

The thing that irks me the most though is when people in Disney ECVs have kids on their laps! I ALWAYS tell them to take them off and I always get rude responses from them.

Being a CM, I would rather a parent get mad at me for asking their children politely to remove the wheels from the shoes than for them to slip and hurt themselves and/or someone else. I just tell them it is for their own personal safety and if they don't agree with it, to stop by Guest Relations. There is also a rule on the Disney-rented ECV's that only one individual over the age of 18 is permitted on them at any time. It is in the contract they sign when they rent them. I have pulled the key out of the guest ECV's and told them that they will get their key back when they remove the extra person. They don't understand that it is for their own personal safety, which I guess is something most guests don't care about.

What you said about my country was rude as well and I did take offense to it. Chill out.

back to the subject - I don't like the wheelie shoes either, I saw a kid get wipe out when she wore them into the cheer gym the other night....

My son asks me repeatedly for these shoes. No way. I can't stand the kids who wear them either. They are dangerous for both the kids and the people around them.

My poor boy is just gonna have to walk like the rest of us! :p

How dare you neglect his wants and needs for those shoes. They aren't just weelies, they're shoe's! How do you expect him to walk to school in the snow and back - bare foot???? I tell you, parents these days - yeesh!
