The WHAT Mansion?

Over the weekend, wandering the Magic Kingdom I noticed I never paid very close attention to this sign near Splash Mountain.

So, what is the story here? What is that supposed to say about the Mansion that has been crossed out? Anyone know? :shrug:

I took a pic like that and noticed it too. I forgot to get a close-up of the sign to see what was scratched out. It's great that you got this..My guess It's possible it's for the bride storyline..maybe?

To me it looks like -A-TRLY.... I can't figure out what the first and third letters are. What would this spell? Very interesting.

I had seen that before and just assumed it read "Gracey Mansion."

But it obviously doesn't in the closeup. Looks like -A-TLEY.

I posted a similar pic in my recent trip report.
To me the name looks like either "Eastley or "Gastley".
Interesting that this hasn't come up for discussion before.

Actually, it's a typo... it was originally named Astley Mansion, but that ride version gave us up and let us down.

So Gastley it is. The question is, who is Gastley?
