It doesn't seem to me to be congruent with Apple's corporate business philosophy and makeup. They are in the software and hardware industry and streaming with Apple TV, but no aspect of their business is in the theme park industry.
Right, it would more likely be jettisoned by the company to a separate entity. You very likely don't want that.

Here's the announcement from Disney.

In a joint statement, Robert A. Iger, CEO, The Walt Disney Company, and Chris Winfrey, CEO, Charter Communications, said: “Our collective goal has always been to build an innovative model for the future. This deal recognizes both the continued value of linear television and the growing popularity of streaming services while addressing the evolving needs of our consumers. We also want to thank our mutual customers for their patience this past week and are pleased that Spectrum viewers once again have access to Disney’s high-quality sports, news and entertainment programming, in time for Monday Night Football.”

In case you were wondering which linear TV networks from Disney are living on borrowed time:

The agreement preserves carriage on Charter’s Spectrum systems for 19 cable networks and stations, including ESPN, FX and ABC stations in major markets, but it leaves behind eight others. The roster of networks that will no longer be carried by Spectrum includes Baby TV, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Freeform, FXM, FXX, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Mundo.

Customers can still find those channels no longer linearly provided by Charter on the ad-supported D+ and Hulu apps... provided by Charter.

Deals within deals.

Most of the content, yes. The channels they can find if they are a Hulu + Live TV customer, at least for now.

As a customer of the latter, I wouldn't miss most, if not all, of the channels that are being removed from Charter, especially if it meant a lower bill! (I know, I know, a WDW survey marker can dream....)

Correct me if wrong, but that means less carriage fees for TWDC and less as revenue for ads on those channels?

With the loss of Freeform that’s really going to cut into the long term profitability prospects of TLM and HM.

I would also have made a casino with a sports book on some swamp water. I mean that is what us midwestern folks do, if it’s on a puddle and call it “river gambling” it’s morally ok. Put a puddle of water in each parking lot a casino on top of it and money made!

Somehow these investors want Disney of old to exist and make money. The turtle has moved as slow as it has but “woke up” shake some trees that will make some money! It might make another group mad too but hey if everyone’s mad who can be mad at each other.
WDW needs to repurpose the star wars hotel into a Vegas style burlesque show.

At MGM Studios approx 30 years ago the park held a professional wrestling event with park guests in attendance right in front of the ticket booths. I unfortunately missed out on all the fun. Maybe WWE and the Mouse could have a relationship if the demand was there.

"Walt Disney Co. has held exploratory talks about selling its ABC network and TV stations to local broadcaster Nexstar Media Group Inc., according to people familiar with the discussions.

The talks are preliminary and haven’t involved a specific valuation, according to one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the discussions aren’t public. Nexstar would only be interested at the right price.

A spokesperson for Nexstar declined to comment. Disney declined to comment."
