Pre-Trip The wait, who is coming and where are we staying PTR Part 2

Hi! Its me again! I am indeed going on a trip in a few weeks but I also have another trip coming up and I wanted to do a PTR to help organize my thoughts
So here we go!
Is it ever an entire family trip without confusion?
Some of you may remember our last big family trip in November of 2016. It was filled with last minute additions to the trip, at least 3 different resort changes, split stays because of resort changes etc etc.
THIS time I was prepared though. This trip has been in the works for at least 3.5 years (I will explain more on that later). We picked out the dates months and months ago....made sure it worked for everyone who wanted to come...booked rooms way back in July...and I gave EVERYONE involved a deadline for changes to who was coming. This deadline was the day before the 180 day booking window so that dining reservations would be all set..............................but were we all set?

On a random side note I was just looking back at my old TRs and my pictures are gone
Anyway...

Lets start with why?:
Many moons ago when we were on our Princess Half Marathon trip we dreamed up this vacation. This was before we would fall into the Disney trap and go all the time so we thought we would plan a trip 3 years from then so that we wouldn't be sad Funny that we went on 12 trips (and one Disneyland one) between then and now!
Anyway, the plan was we would go back to Disney to celebrate my Mom's 5 Year Cancer Free Anniversary. Technically we can't officially say she is 5 years yet so for now we will be saying 4 years until its true...but 5 years is a huge reason to celebrate cancer free because the risk of relapse drastically falls! So, my Mom always said when/if she makes it to 5 years we HAVE to celebrate in Disney

Well, I think I will stop here for now to organize the pictures I want to use. I will leave you in suspense of the drama

The nice thing is I have my own YouTube channel so we have actually been showing Max videos from the last time he was in Disney. The only thing that seems to stick is that he wants to go down the water slide
We have also been "training him" for several other things as well. For example, he refuses to ride in a stroller at home but in Disney he will ride in one so he can be "like a king." We also tell him all the time that characters are "big - taller than him, but nice and like to give hugs." We probably sound psychotic I have also been warning him that if he doesn't behave on the plane he won't get any special prizes (some small toys we got him). Im most worried about travel because it will be just my sister and him
We will definitely start training him to say my sisters name!

As long as she brings plenty of snacks, the travel shouldn't be too bad. Teach him Criss cross apple sauce with his legs though, to keep him from kicking the chair in front. And teach him to catch a bubble with his mouth... It's like when you breathe in and shut your mouth and your cheeks are puffy. It gives you a solid thirty seconds of quiet so you can think of your next move, if things go sideways.

Both of these work great in my kindergarten class as well!! I change it up and have them catch bunny shaped bubbles (around Easter) or a purple (or whatever his favorite color may be) bubble. Tiny little changes like that surprise them & they love it!

Great news for your mum, I love watching your you tube channel, I was watching on Saturday and realised we were both in MK on the 45th I need to look back through my pictures and see if you are in any of them.

This may be a little late.. but I've traveled with my nephews at 1, 2 and 3 years old and character meals were never a problem (except for the 1 yr old who hated characters in general). We did 1 per day and they welcomed the break at meal time. They also didn't fight the strollers, there's so much visual stimulation, I think that tired them as well. The character meals they loved in particular are the Crystal Palace and Donalds Tusker House breakfast, both have a parade so the kids can get up and walk around. They also really enjoyed the playgrounds at each park, in case Max needs to burn some energy.

Oh the playgrounds!! Thats a great idea! I hope Max does ok with characters. We purposely only planned on the BBQ so that he can get up and move around and its not in his face characters Last trip he was not keen on characters at all!

As for the kiddos, I'm sure he will do great on the plane. We were worried too, but they did so good. Just make sure she has plenty of snacks. There will be so many new things for him to look at that it shouldn't be too hard for him to behave.
