They are trying to squeeze it in between Potter (June 2014) and Kong (May 2015).I don't mind waiting another 6 months for something better...2 carousels...in one park....meh...
I have heard that the Amber Mine is out and that they will be going with something similar to Wooden Warrior with some added terrain rock work and water features.
I have heard that this is so that they can have it open by "Late 2014". I have also heard that there may be a Dino-themed carousel to act as a center piece for the "expansion". They are going for a "Theme Park in a Theme Park" concept.
I'm perfectly fine with this concept since it'll add some family appeal to IOA (Seuss and Toon can each get some E-ticket family dark rides later on... and Poseidon's spot would be great for a Greek mythology Omnimover)
Would there still be room for the cancelled Discovery Center dark ride at a later date? It was rumored to go behind the expansion area so I wouldn't think it'd be a problem (Some trees could hide it from Popeye)
Yeah, Disney tried and it just came off as awful. Not sure how this would be any different.I just wish they weren't going in the direction of "theme park inside a theme park".
It has been rumored that in Jurassic World, Jurassic Park finally opens to the public.I just wish they weren't going in the direction of "theme park inside a theme park".

Well, since the word from HTF right now is that this coaster will be getting rockwork, water features, and even a few AA's, it will still make it way more impressively themed than any ride in Animal Kingdom's Chester and Hester
I the book Jurassic Park, the place was much more theme park-like than the movie version. I believe that this RUMORED expansion, with the wooden coaster/carousel is designed for a "theme park" visual macro theme as well as to add capacity for smaller children. It WON'T be tacky or kitschy. It will be well designed, but intended to look more theme park-like.
And as far as another carousel, if MK can have 4 spinners, IOA can pull off 2 carousels.
With the right people behind them, kiddie coasters can be epic. They allow for more storytelling opportunities than huge scale thrill rides. JP has a great E-Ticket, a smaller ride is exactly what the area needs.
A carousel does seem odd to me, since there is one at Seuss Landing. Surely there's better flat rides! Why not a dinosaur version of the ride Treasure Hunters from Universal Singapore?
Taking my infant son to Orlando next year, and sad to see that he can only ride Cat in the Hat, One Fish, and the new Simpsons spinner in the entire resort. Until Universal creative realizes that all their rides don't need to spin or get you wet, Disney has nothing to worry about.
I think this could be a fun little attraction that'd I do every time. We could finally get our jeep ride that so many people have wanted since IOA opened!
I know it's wishful thinking, but it could be fun!
