The Universal Rumors thread

Any rumors on what other IP Universal may be looking to expand upon? IMHO I think Star Trek and Nintendo (Mario, ZELDA, Metroid, etc.) are underutilized when it comes to theme park offerings. Any news or rumors on what is to come?

Your going to see a video game focused land at a Universal park overseas within 3-5 years. It's in development now and it's ETicket attraction will essentially be MIB 2.0

I can see this going into Universal Japan. It will be popular with the Japanese crowd. I wonder when Universal Singapore is getting something new.

Look for Singapore to open DM within the next 12 months
Thanks HTF. Although DM will be a nice addition to Singapore, it's not the E-ticket I was hoping for. Compared to all the big investments going into the other Universal parks, Singapore is kind of lagging behind. I thought it was a beautiful park when I visited last year, with great theming and a lot of potential. I heard things about Universal Singapore not hitting their attendance numbers. Is this a factor in not expanding as much as the other Universal parks?

Are you freaking kidding me?

Singapore only opened in 2011...and got Transformers the ride the following year, Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase this year, and Despicable Me slated for late 2014. They've gotten something EVERY year. There is absolutely no lagging behind...especially considering that this park is only half the size of IOA yet boasts as many big attractions in only it's first three years of operation.

Sesame Street is and Despicable Me will be nice additions, but not E-ticket rides. But I agree the park is still very new. I wonder how many expansions they can build there. The park seemed pretty gridlocked when I was there, with not a lot of room for expansion like a Harry Potter land.

Don't want to jinx anything but to add to this I did hear Capcom liked what Universal Osaka did with the Monster Hunter gardens and they liked what Uni stateside did for Halloween.

The obvious thing would be Racoon City with 3D glasses and physical set based BioHazard/Resident Evil shooter attraction...for Osaka based on stuff I've heard in regards to Capcom getting money from a licensing fee out of nowhere.

This is all we can really talk about at the moment and will be spread though out the year.

2 projects in JP (one being Kong) breaking ground
Garden of Allah Villa's (interactive exhibit)
5th Hotel breaking ground
New Beetlejuice show (currently underway)
NUMEROUS facility and attraction revisions and upgrades across the resort
Mystery 2015 Project (Hint: Replacing Something)
Citywalk (Phase 1 and 2) being either completed or started…

That is amazing and your quick response is equally amazing! Thank you so much!

That is certainly quite a bit to look forward to ... do we have rumors of what the Bettlejuice replacement would be yet or is that something to not talk about? And wasn't there rumors of a version of the stage show Wicked coming to the parks?
