The Expo is open on Friday from 12-8 and Saturday from 10-4 for packet pick-up. You will get your race waiver a few weeks prior to the race.

About 3 weeks prior to the race you'll receive an e-mail with final race instructions. You'll need time prior to the race to check your bag (if you're checking a bag) and find your starting corral. People usually get there an hour or two prior to the start time. There is usually a DJ playing music and getting the crowd pumped for the race. At the Wine & Dine 1/2 marathon, which was a night race, there was a visit from Mickey & Minnie and a chance to get photos with them prior to the race. At the morning races I've run, there were no characters photo ops till post-race.

As long as you are staying at a host hotel, transportation will be provided for all race events-Expo, race and after party.

Awesome, thank you so much for the info!! :)

Darolyn, we're doing it together, don't worry! haha. :)

I know, I know lol but we have an ADR at Via Napoli at 6:00 so I want to make sure we have plenty of time to get to the race afterwards. I know Boardwalk is one of the host hotels so we can probably hop on a bus from there (or take the boat to DHs depending where the race starts)

Here's the bus schedule for Tower of Terror. A lot of people use Boardwalk for transportation. So, you may have a wait depending on their bus flow. Allow enough time from Via Napoli, in case they're a little slow with service that evening

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler

Saturday, September 29: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.; 10:00 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.

So nervous that this is beginning to fill up and I don't have money yet to pay for the race.

Just as a backup if I join a running team that does run at the Disney races are those spots filled from a different pool? I know that sometimes with the NYC Marathon even if individual slots are full if you are running for a charity or with a company you can still get in. I ask because I have thought about joining either the WDWRadio team or joining a team that I can run to raise money for Cancer or MS research as all three causes (WDWRadio I know gives money to Make a Wish) and would love to use donations as a way to motivate my runs.

Very excited I am doing a 6 mile run/walk in just a little over a month. I can already do 3 miles run/walk so my friend and I are going to start getting up to 6 in the next month. It isn't a race but still should be a good start to the 10 miler training.

I'm super pumped for this race. Maybe it's because I have zero attachment to the Wine & Dine, or maybe it's because it has seemed infinitely easier to talk my sister into joining me for a 10-miler rather than a half or full marathon.

Regardless, I asked for my registration as an early birthday present and it was just what I needed to get me back to running again (after my entirely too long break since the WDW Marathon in January).

I'm so excited that I even opened my previously private training blog to the public. Not that my training is super interesting, but it's more of an accountability thing. Woo!

A running club usually won't have a separate pool for the races. However, fundraising groups such at Team in Training, may. And some travel agencies organizing groups may as well. It depends on the exact race. Those two groups do both typically get an allotment of bibs for their runners. I don't know if any such organizations are doing this for the ToT race, and I haven't seen any mention of such on the RunDisney site. If you contact RunDisney directly they may be able to point you in direction of any official groups doing this. However, keep in mind that joining such groups will either require you to raise a minimum amount of donations for charity (you typically have to agree to pay any shortcomings yourself) or the cost of the travel package to the tour group. So you will almost definitely come out ahead if you can pay it now. Maybe find a friend or family member to front you the money and work out a way to repay them?

I have run on a "team" before and we had to pay for entry fee like everyone else and then pay an extra fee to be on the team (fundraising).

So, Im not sure how all these teams work, but I doubt you get any kind of free admission or what not from joining one (at least not Disney). Could be wrong though.

Looks just like the one from the 13k except for the text, and I think the elevator was red on the old ones. Will have to check at home.

Some fund raisers include registration, but they build it into the amount you need to raise. So it seems free, but it still gets paid for.

Either way, it's gonna cost as much, if not more than registering yourself.

Ahhh. True. They will always get their money.

I hate it for the guy. I cant imagine being in college and wanting to participate in something that costs this much. Im not saying it is cheap now, but it is easier to not do something else that month to cover the entry fee to make it a wash.

Im thinking of dressing up like a character from the 5th dimension for this race. Hmmmm. How awesome would that be.
