Trip Report The Tuvalu Chronicles ~ Chapter 25 *COMPLETED*

Welcome, welcome, welcome to my 25th trip report.

Over the past five years, I have loved chronicling my WDW adventures with fellow forum readers who share my Disney passion. Writing keeps the magic alive for me. Discussions that result from your comments are icing on the cake! I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my posts. (And for those of you who have been following from the beginning ~ THANK YOU!!)

All my reports have been live, live-ish, or shortly-afterwards.....except one. In 2016 I wrote a retro TR detailing my first visit to the park that forever captivated my heart. You can read about it here. Or you can merely mock the photo below which is proof positive I cannot pull off wearing a hat.

Similar in style to last summer’s novel, this report will incorporate my June, July and August vacations. The ship has already sailed for a live report for June, but I may attempt some live updates in July/August. Or not. :hilarious:

Trip #1
Who: Tuvalu and Em
When: June 8-13, 2019
Where: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

118537E3-D4CC-4761-9D22-4CF84E735DEB.jpeg

Did we meet the Wicked Queen? Who got shoved in the Haunted Mansion? Did the rain rain rain come down down down? Was there an attraction evac? Did one of us really cause a ride to shut down?

Answers to come!

(Special thanks to @krisri18 for another trip report title! 💕)

I met a friend on the other side of the bridge.

I shudder to think what Poly and Kona would do to this little guy. I remember being presented with many lizard “prizes” by the family cat when we lived in South Florida.

We lived in Columbia, SC for awhile when kids were little. I had a tanning bed and B hooked it up for me on huge screen room, with privacy walls, nothing like having an Anole climb up me, whilst tanning. Lol I squished him trying to get away.

We stopped for a fun photo shoot before resuming our walk along the Promenade.

Flaunting our AP status. :hilarious:

Woody was curious which artists were performing during the Eat to the Beat concert series. He noticed a glaring mistake on the signage.

Do you see it?

We had to fight the crowds all the way to France.

Thursday is spelled incorrectly!
There is also a dash after 9pm that probably doesn’t need to be there.

(Really want to comment on the size of the children in the double stroller....must keep mouth shut.)
Oh, I could comment on that too, but I'd rather not! 🤐
I don’t mind a slight char on wood-fired pizza, but I don’t like it blackened.....which this was.
Char as in charcoal!
In my country there's an old saying/belief about burnt food: Eating it takes away all your fears!

(Apologizing if I start a stroller debate so feel free to delete to avoid problems @Tuvalu !)

But look at that mother's pained expression trying to push that stroller that much have 75+ lbs in it! Between that and having to carry a double stroller on to a bus - no thank you! (and this is why I've already started telling C when she complains about walking too far or asking if she gets a stroller when she see's us loading up baby L's, that if she wants to get back to Disney, she needs to be comfortable walking!)

My daughter is about 43 pounds and pushing her around Disney two weeks ago was a chore. Some of those hills are rough, man.

I enjoyed making the full circuit around the lagoon, since it’s been a few trips since I’ve done so. Empty walkways certainly helped in making the trek pleasant!

This guy was basking in the afternoon sun.

Woody and I noticed some construction, likely Food & Wine related. Can anyone who’s been to this year’s festival confirm what the gray cinderblock building is? It looks permanent.

As we headed back into Future World we ran into @DisneyGigi and her hubby. We laughed at this unplanned meet, since our planned meet....NOT at Epcot....was only a couple hours away!

Woody and I needed an a/c break before venturing out to the bus stops so we popped into Art Of Disney, where we saw this adorable painting of Trader Goofy.

And since Callan was nowhere in sight, we posed for a few more pics before exiting the park.

We practically walked on the bus and were back at CSR in no time.

However when we reached our room.....

.....so we rode the elevator down to the lobby.....

.....where we ran into @DisneyGigi and B AGAIN!!!

(I’m surprised it didn’t occur to either of us to play the lottery that day, @DisneyGigi ~ I mean, what are the odds??!!)

This notification was prominently displayed in our room. It seems funny now, since “Boarding Groups” to enter SW:GE lasted only a few hours on Day 1.

I can't get over how empty Epcot seemed on this day! We're not a fan of Via Napoli at all although we've given it about four chances to prove us wrong. We thought the service was really bad the last visit (about three years ago) and the pizza was like eating dough.

You were so lucky to have an empty Epcot! Our last trip was during F&G (I know) and it was very crowded. We both used scooters to get around WS, but it was impossible to stop and look at the topiaries or other things due to the crowds. It looks like heaven to me, although a very HOT one, LOL. Haven't eaten at Via Napoli, and now probably won't. You are much nicer than me. I would have sent it back; don't like charred food. My husband would be appalled that I would send it back, but......……......……...….:)

We should have played the lottery! All these years and our paths only crossed in May. 3 in one day? Do I hold the daily record for @Tuvalu meets? 😂
