The Town Center construction

It is unique at least in the US. There are other efforts but all do not have the features DS will have.
It's not unique. Similar lifestyle centers, such as The Grove or Americana, have already existed for years.

Then we are talking two different things here. Walt's EPCOT model still looks hi tech and futuristic. Not that anything like it will be built.

Moving along.
Then you should read Garden Cities of To-Morrow and The Heart of Our Cities.

I don't necessarily think that there will be anything groundbreaking about DS once if is completed. In my opinion, however, I certainly will not be considering it just a shopping mall either. DS will offer a bit more than just run-of-the-mill shopping.

For me, the difference maker are the new dining locales that will make this more of an experience. I live near King of Prussia Mall near Philadelphia. Pretty impressive as far as malls are concerned. DS will just be so different than that. Places like The Boathouse, The Hanger, The Edison, Raglan Road, etc., will add a unique flavor to it. Not to mention the amount of nightly entertainment that is everywhere. My real concern now is crowd management. It is insane now and this isn't even finished.

There will be a lot more space when it's done, though. The Town Center area alone will be a ton of space that didn't even used to be there.

That's why the term 'lifestyle center' was coined.

Yes, they are. It is an artificial, controlled body of water. Bubbles will be made with pumps and piping, just like a fountain. Just because the water isn't shooting high into the air doesn't make it some completely new type of technology.

The bubbling would just be a fountain turned down really low.

Does anyone else look at the concept art and then photos like the one below (credit: damouse.com) and think about how far off base the idea is going to look? In the concept art all of the buildings fit with the theme, then in these photos the store fronts/buildings like Harley Davidson and Candy Cauldron sort of mess up that overall theme. If this happens all the way across DS including the Town Center it will still feel as it does right now. A mishmash of shops all crammed together with no overall story.

Most small towns in Florida are a mishmash. Think of it as the "small town Florida that never was and always will be".

With sincere apologies to Mr Eisner for stealing his line.
