Trip Report The "That Family Was So Bogus On Small World" Trip Report!

Ok guys just got back home after spending almost a week at Disney World! My family had an awesome time there. This was our second trip this year and was a lot better than our May trip! It's amazing what can change in 6 months with a 2 year olds attitude!

The cast is me, Steve (28), my wife Megan (31), and our 2 boys Landon (5), and Declan (2).

Our last trip in May Declan was awful! Didn't want to go on any rides or meet any characters and boy was this trip different for him! He loved everything and would literally run to the characters to give them hugs! He so made this trip worth it with doing that alone! As for my 5 year old, the title in the thread comes into play and we will get into that a little later!

Before our day to day activities I am going to do a run down of our experiences! I hope you enjoy reading about our families' experience as much as we enjoyed experiencing it!

So with our first day under our belts, we all fell asleep early that night! We were up at the butt crack of dawn the nex day! I am not a morning person and neither is Megan. We had an 8 o clock reso at Kona Cafe for breakfast. This was our first time eating here, however Ohana is a must do for us. From all the positive reviews on here, that is what made us choose this ADR and boy was everyone right! We all had a delicious breakfast!
image.jpg

I had the Samoa and it was so tasty! It was very filling so I couldn't finish the whole thing, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone! Megan had the Tonga Toast (sorry no pic, I'm terrible at remembering to take food photos ;) ) and the boys shared Mickey pancakes. I was so excited that they had the same juice as Ohana does, god is that stuff not the best juice ever! I really wish they sold it!

The Polynesian is the one resort that Megan and I wish we could stay at! We love the resort grounds, the restaurants, the gift shops, everything! If I ever have a lot of money to actually splurge on a vacation, we would definitely stay there!

Now I said yesterday that Megan's feet were killing her, and now she had gotten bad blisters on the bottoms of both feet! (Gross) do while we were at the gift shop we found some some blister stuff for her to use. Me and the boys walked around the resort a bit while she mended her feet.
image.jpg

The boys loved going around to all the different flowers and smelling them! These flowers were my favorite!
image.jpg

So after Megan was finished, we went back upstairs and took the monorail to the TTC and switched to the Epcot monorail for our park of choice that day. I love going to Epcot this way! I was very excited to go on Test Track and for Landon to go on for the first time, the new version of course! So we arrived and got right into the park again no problems with our magic bands! It was nice and sunny out, but boy was it windy! The wind was crazy this day! There were weather alerts all day for very strong wind.
image.jpg

We had FP+ for Test Track first. There were 2 rides this trip I wanted Landon to experience. Test Track and Dinosaur! I told him if he ride these 2 rides, he would be able to get his xbox360 Lego Marvel game he wanted that had just came out! Am I a terrible parent for bribing my child? Anyways, we went to the fast pass line and grabbed a ride swap pass. Landon wanted to ride with Megan first, so off those 2 went and me and Declan went walking around the area a bit, I stopped for a quick smoke, and we headed to the ride exit gift shop. But not before getting a glimpse of this!
image.jpg

RIP
This used to be one of my favorite pavilions when I was a kid!

So once we were back in the gift shop we waited, and waited and waited some more. For some reason Megan wanted me to hold onto her phone (I guess she didn't want it to fly out? Idk...) so I couldn't call her to see where she was. I got paranoid that I might have taken too long to smoke my cig and take some pictures, so we walked back outside quickly to see if Landon's stroller was still there, it was. I figured the ride must have broke down or something so back to the gift shop we went. Declan and I even waited at the bench right at the ride exit near the photo area and nothing! A total of 40 minutes and they emerged!
"What the hell took so long?" I asked.
"I don't know they have you merge so early in line now it's rediculous " Megan said.
"Ya that line was bogus!" Landon said as he started to laugh about using the word bogus.
"Can you tell the story of the family that was so bogus on small world yesterday?" He added.
:banghead: Seriously?!?

Anyways we left Test Track and had a little time to spare until our next FP+, so we went to ride Spaceship Earth! Landon and Declan love this ride, as do Megan and I! The wind was really bad under the golf ball but 15 minutes later we were on!
image.jpg

After we were off the ride, we headed over to The Land. Our Soarin FP+ was up. We headed right downstairs and grabbed a ride swap pass. This would be all of our very first rides ever on this thing! Of course Landon had to ride with Megan first, so off they went and me and Declan went to watch Circle of Life!

Declan loves to watch Disney movies of all kinds! Landon, not so much...idk why, but he is very selective about the movies he watches? Declan had liked every Disney movie he has ever watched, with Lion King being in his top fav Disney movies. (On a side note, for some reason my boys love to watch Cinderella 3 ! Don't ask me why, but they really like it and we tried hard to meet Cinderella this trip but mission failed)

Megan texted me that they just got off the ride as our movie was just about to end. We meet them back downstairs, and I asked how they liked it?
"I liked it, but it made me a little motion sickness." Megan said.
"Ya dad, I don't want to go on it again." Was Landon's response.
"I didn't like being up so high!" He added. Understandable. I was just excited that he was trying new things:)
So we decided to save my ride swap pass for later. We had dinner reservations later that night at Garden Grill, so I figured I could go on either before or after that.

We then hopped in line for Living with the Land. This is another ride we all just love. I don't know why, but we just do. I would love to be able to go on the "seed tour" when the boys get a little older!

We kept our stroller parked and walked over to ride Nemo, another of Declan's favorites! We then toured the pavillion looking at the fish and playing around.

We grabbed out strollers and headed over for a snack and rest for a few minutes. We got a pretzel and cheese, popcorn, and some soda. Megan needed to rest her feet a little more. I will interject here and say, " I told you so!" I really wish she would have listened to me and just bought new flip flops like I suggested instead of wearing old ones! So while she rested I took the boys over to meet Figment for the first time!
image.jpg

I will say that in the past few years I thought this ride was actually gone! I didn't realize it was still around until I read about it on the Boards when I first joined. Last year when we were at Epcot my mother in law got sick so I never got to ride and our trip earlier this year, we had to skip Epcot. So we got in line and walked right on!

Now I will say I remember this ride as a kid, the original ride. There was just something so magical about that experience when I was younger, and something I was kind of sad my children wouldn't get to experience. The new ride isn't necessarily bad, I enjoyed it for what it was, but it's just not anything like the original was, and doesn't have that magic behind it. Landon didn't seem to really be into it, but Declan liked it! We played in the pavilion for a few minutes before we headed out! I wish the upstairs would open back up! :(

Megan was waiting for us by the exit. Landon, who ended up loving Test Track, wanted to ride again. I didn't use my ride swap pass yet, so it was my turn to ride with Landon. We entered the que and waited. After 10 minutes we were making our car! We got into the next room and Bam! So many people?!? What the hell I s wrong with this que? Wow did they mess this line up! No wonder Megan and Landon were in line so long earlier. They really need to redo this FP que, there was nothing fast about it! I didn't have too many complaints or gripes on my trip, but this was one of them. I can also see why now the stand by line is always insane. So we finally got on, and I made Landon put his hands up for the whole ride! LOL...he seriously loved this ride. I liked it too, as it was my first time on the new version. I will say that I think had they just gone with a full on Tron theme, it would really help bring future back to future world. I still enjoyed it a lot though!
image.jpg

Next it was time to shop at Mouse Gear and get the boys picture from the Chase photo meet and greet.
image.jpg

We had FP+ for Maelstrom for a little later, but since we were heading into the World Showcase already, I bumped them up an hour! We had a good half hour to go through Spain and stop at the first aid for bandaids.

This was my very first time going to a first aid in a park. I of course needed to get Megan some bandaids because she had left her bandaids in the car back at the magic kingdom parking lot and never out them in the stroller. Delcan and I went in, got the band aids, and headed next door to the baby center to change Declan's diaper. This was also a first for us, and the only reason I went in was because it was right next to first aid. I usually go into the normal bathroom to change him. I was very impressed that they had this! We met back up with Megan and Landon and headed into the Pyramid!

The boys loved this ride, especially Declan , he loves Donald Duck. "Again, again!" He asked. There was no wait as we literally walked on the first ride, so we got back in line and rode it again!
image.jpg

After our second ride, we slowly made our way out of the pavilion, looking around at all the merchandise on our way out! We made our way through Norway and used our last FP+ of the day on Maelstrom.
image.jpg

So we got in the FP line and in front of us while we were scanning our bands was a mother and Down syndrome son in a wheelchair with the Norwegians singing happy birthday to him. We walked the short que, and got on the ride pretty quickly. We were told to go to said row, and waited as there was one family in front of us, the mother and downs child. Their boat arrived, they hopped in, and I see the kid and so does Megan, and it is my dads next door neighbor! No joke!

Now a side story on them. This family was very friendly in my dads community, and friends with a lot of families on their block. Her 20 year old son (the downs kid is the younger teen brother, age 18) got a girl pregnant last year, and ever since then this lady has isolated herself from the neighbors for some reason, embarrassment maybe? But she should have nothing to be embarrassed about!

Back to our reactions of seeing them, we of course have to text my stepmom and let her know! I really wanted to try and catch up with them after our ride to see if they would say hi to us! Apparently wen she sees the neighbors out at a store or anything this lady straight up ignores them! So weird and rude...so I wanted to see what would happen. We unfortunately never saw them again after that! I have no idea if she recognized us or not, but she definitely would have! We joked that she probably saw us and immediately left the park! LOL

We were interested, well Megan was interested in meeting the new Frozen princesses but the line was very long to meet them. We looked around the store again before we left, and the 2 princesses actually walked right by us through the gift shop on their way back to the greet, and waved and said hello to the boys! Good enough! Even though we didn't get a picture, we still got to meet them!

We were getting hungry again, and on our way to china. I had a craving for egg rolls so we stopped at the counter service there and grabbed an order and also a kids sweet n sour chix. We all snacked in this, and the other snacks that usually come with a kids meal. It was good and hit the spot! I thought it was so nice that they actually brought out our food and told us to choose a seat anywhere as they followed us to our table with our food. We rested for a few before we made our way further into world showcase. We went to Germany and of course had to stop at the caramel store! We picked up some caramel corn and German choco chip cookies and continued on! It was starting to get cold as the wind was still very strong and the sun was beginning to set. Once we got near England, we noticed these guys:
image.jpg

Past out!

We slowly were making our way back to The Land because of our dinner reservations. Since it was still early and we had time to kill we figured it would be a good for me to redeem my ride swap for Soarin.
image.jpg

Since it was so cold and the kids were asleep, Megan sat in the lobby of the Pavilion with the kids asleep in their strollers and waited for me to ride. I waited a good 15 minutes and was on!
image.jpg

I have to say I did enjoy the ride and the smells, but heights kind of scare me, so there were times I got really nervous thinking I was really that high up, it kind of weirded me out but I would go on again. I met back up with Megan and we woke up the kids. I ran and put their strollers outside and headed back in.

It was still a few minutes early, but we decided to give it a shot. There seemed to be a ton of people in the waiting area to get into the restaurant! It was packed in that corner! We had to sit on the floor and wait. We were so tired of walking and a lot of other people were doing it so we figured why not. I was nervous thinking we would be waiting a long time, but 10 minutes later we were paged and shown to our table.
image.jpg

I thought this was so cool of them to spend a few extra moments with the boys and colored with them. The boys loved it.
image.jpg

image.jpg

We loved the food here, we just wish we could have enjoyed it a little more. Since we woke Declan up he was very very crabby and wanted nothing to do with garden grill. He would get excited when the characters would come along, but was horrible the rest of the time. We really rushed through eating and wish we had more time for seconds! We grabbed our dessert and paid our bill, magic band still working well! Me and Megan quickly took a few bites of our dessert and the boys grabbed their cupcakes cones to go. We grabbed the strollers and headed out of Epcot! Of course his favorite ride of the day turned out to be Test Track! We exited the park and headed back to our resort. We really wanted to stay for illuminations but with the boys falling back asleep again and the cold wind we opted out.

Enjoying the report and pictures! Your boys are adorable and I feel for your wife's feet. Our last trip my daughter and I had nothing but trouble. She got big blisters on her arch. It really blows to have that happen with all the walking there is.

After getting up early yesterday, we slept in a little and were off to Animal Kingdom this morning. We got to the park around 10am and headed toward Africa as we had our first FP+ for the safari. We made a pit stop to check out the characters in Camp Minnie Mickey first.
image.jpg

Who loves that wedgie! LOL
image.jpg

We met all the characters there except Pocohontas as the boys had no interest. As we met our last character, I took Declan out of his stroller and...his butt was all wet! :0 did he seriously just leak through his diaper? No, his diaper was dry...we didn't have any liquid in the bottom of the stroller...I came to the conclusion somehow water must have fallen in the stroller sitting under the edges of the hutches??? We got our last photo and we headed over to the gift shop to try and find Declan some shorts.

biggest challenge ever!

So we stopped in the store just outside of CMM, and went inside to look. Nothing...I asked the CM in the store if they had any boy shorts. She said no, but to try the store across the walkway, as they have a clothing section inside their store! We walked over there and all I could find were some ugly sweatpants!?! Seriously? I asked another CM in this store just to double check that I wasn't going blind. She goes on to tell me that they usually never carry boy shorts, (but I sure found plenty of girl shorts in the store!) but what I had, the sweatpants, were all they had.

We pay for the pants and change his shorts really quickly, his diaper was still dry! I thought i might have to change it because he was sitting in wet shorts, but his diaper was all dry? Idk, weird, but with new pants in tow, we headed as fast as we could to the safari as our FP time was almost up!

We parked the stroller, scanned our bands, and were on. Now I will say that there were a lot of people in the FP line, but our line never stopped moving. 5 minutes later we were boarding our truck and off to the pride lands! I didn't actually get any photos of the lions, but I got a good picture of this baby elephant!
image.jpg

I don't know if this picture looks like crap or is actually cool? On one hand its just a blurry photo, but it almost looks like I took a picture of a watercolor picture? Idk I kind of like it...

We then walked around the animal trail, taking our time. The boys started saying they were hungry. I wanted BBQ, but if course we had to have pizzafari...there's nothing wrong with this place, I would eat here again, but I wanted to eat elsewhere. But it's free, remember! So I really didn't care at the end of the day! Bring on the free food! We all of course had pizza, I love the little ceasar salad you get with the meals there like at pizza planet in DHS.

We relaxed, as Megan wanted to sit a few extra minutes to give her feet a break, still trying to heal from the other day. After we ate we got ready to ride Kali River Rapids, and when I say we got ready, Landon and I changed into our swimsuits. We love this ride but we hate how wet we get! Bringing a swimsuit to change into and out of, and the help of a few hand dryers, it really makes a difference!
image.jpg

Megan was getting a little annoyed at how long me and Landon were taking for this ride with changing clothes and drying off and such. We went over to Everest and checked to see if Landon could ride, as he actually asked if he could ride it! He was literally 1 inch too short! :( he wasn't upset but I was just excited that he said he wanted to ride it without being asked or "lightly forced" onto it! next time little dude...

I opted not to make the family wait for just me to ride it, so we skipped and headed into dinoland. We went on the spinning dinosaurs first. I wanted a nice calm ride for Landon before the storm was about to hit on Dinosaur! So we get over to the FP entrance and scan our bands. Landon was very nervous about this ride, scared of it actually, but was doing just fine in the que and ride video.

Side story: A 1 1/2 ago, Megan told Landon that the dinosaur ride was really scary and he has always refused to ride it. Even watching videos on YouTube, he thought it looked scary! I was very happy he handled it like a champ, and I'm glad I got an excuse to get another new video game for us to play!
image.jpg

This ride always cracks me up and I end up laughing through the whole thing, I really don't know why, but it's fun! Landon didn't cry or close his eyes through the entire ride! I was really worried he would cry through the ride, but he did just fine! We met up with Megan and Declan in the gift shop, and Megan immediately asked how the ride was?
"I don't really know" Landon said.
"Well do you want to ride it again and go on with me this time?" Asked Megan.
"Oh no, once is enough for me for that ride!" Landon answers back! We all kin of giggled about that and made our way slowly out of the park. We wanted to meet Mickey and Minnie, but had the hardest time trying to find it? LOL we gave up after a few minutes because we were trying to get out of the park before the parade started. We left and headed back to our resort. We had a few hours to kill before dinner that evening so Declan and Megan took naps while me and Landon went swimming.

Now who am I kidding! I really only like swimming when it's really hot out, but for me I thought it was too cold. well the water was cold, so I just watched Landon swim and play for a little bit. We walked around some of the resort as well before we made our way to get more soda and a snack before dinner! Chili cheese fries! They really hit the spot. Megan and I shared those while the boys ate apple peach pouches! (Which are really good btw)

We finished eating and started to get ready for our Dinner at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We arrived right in time for our reservation at Boma. This would be another first for us. Not going to spend too much time on dinner because it was a bust. We were all crabby, this time it was Landon's turn to be bad. He ended up crying himself to sleep kidding under my hoodie an Declan would just not sit still. Again! How annoying! I did not want a repeat of last night! On top of the crabby children as Megan came back to the table and I could tell she was mad... She didn't really care for the food, even though she agreed to go after looking at the menu months before...whatever, I told her she could get something from the resort when we got back, and I enjoyed my food and we left pretty quickly after that. The server never charged our son for a meal since he was asleep the whole time so we got an extra few snacks from having that left over on departure day. I really did enjoy the food here, just wished my family felt the same. Can't win em all!

We headed back to the resort, stopping at the food court to refill our mugs and get Megan some food. We all went to bed early since we had an 8am reservation at our favorite breakfast spot, Ohana!

I almost forgot! This one is a little weird. Ok it had to do with Photopass. We did use our bands to scan for pics. Megan was in change of makin sure she scanned her band for the photos, and I ended up doing it about 3 times.

However, when I looked on my photopass I saw 2 pictures that were of me, that I never scanned my band or any type of photopass media! They literally just showed up out of nowhere?!?

I was dumbfounded! How could this be? Like I said earlier, we used the ride switch for one of our rides at AK, dinosaur. Never scanned anything there but the photo of us showed in my phtot pass page! The other ride was just me when I went on splash mountain at the MVMCP all by myself and I only used the stand by line! I literally walks the que and was on, again no band scanned or any type of phtot pass card!

Just thought I would add that in because I was very surprised to see them just show up! Can anyone explain this?!?

Same thing happened to me!! I'm not sure how I feel about that technology!

Ok so like I said before we all went to bed and were going to wake up early because we had a reservation at Ohana for breakfast at 8am! Well I wake up and look at the clock...it's 715! What? We wanted to wake at 630 so we could leave by 730!!!! OMG we are gonna miss breakfast and get charged for not showing was my first thought! The kids were still asleep, so Megan and I quickly showered ad got dressed. We then woke the boys as quickly got them dressed as well. They can take a shower/bath when we get back from breakfast!

I originally planned for us to go to the MK all day an just stay for the Xmas party, but those plans changed and I was never able to get a later time for ohana so we kept the 8am. We love Ohana and any chance we have of going to the Poly we take!

So we were all able to get ready and leave at 745! Idk how we did it but we did! We arrived at the poly right at 8am! I dropped Megan and the boys off so she could quickly run upstairs as I parked. We waited a good 10 minutes and were in! Did they stop giving out leias? (Sp??) we never got any this time?!? Neways, no big deal. We were seated and began to eat right away. We were hungry. The rest of our good came out 5 minutes later and we all are and had fun with the characters! And I can't say it enough but they need to bottle that juice!
image.jpg

After Breakfast, we hung around the resort for awhile. We went window shopping and walked the grounds and down by the beach. I really wanted to take Landon out on one of those mini speeder boats but it must have been to early as it was closed...I was still very full from breakfast so I decided not to get a dole whip and wait until we were at the MK later to grab one! No problem!

We left Poly and headed back to our hotel. We walked around a bit taking photos of the resort.

image.jpg

We went back to our room and decided to take a nap as we would be up late at the party that night.

We all slept for a good hour before we gave the boys baths an for them ready for the party! We had some time to spare, waiting for Megan, so I took the boys just outside to play in Andy's room for a few minutes before we would be leaving!
image.jpg

image.jpg

As I was taking photos of the boys some foreigners were taking pics as well. I wish I would have gotten a pic of this, but the boys were taking turns grabbing hold of Bo Peeps and taking pics of this! I thought it was hilarious, inappropriate yes, but funny!

Megan came out a few minutes later and we were ready to go to our very first Xmas party! We jumped in the car and headed to the MK and it started to rain!!! :(

So off to the magic kingdom we went as it started and stopped drizzling during our car ride there! Once inside the lot a lot of people were taking the "long way" around the cones and there were still cones open and allowing traffic to go through! Thank go we did as we literally were parked 2 rows back right near the bridge the trams drive under to get to the TTC! Score! We grabbed our stuff and headed for the monorail!

We entered the park, recieved wrist bands and off we went! We had FP+ scheduled for Peter Pan first, 4-5pm. We started off into Adventureland this time first. Of course I wanted a dole whip!

Now remember this would be attempt number 3 to get one! Of course at the time we passed the line was rediculous as usual! No I can't wait...I figured if get one when we went to go ride Jingle Cruise later during the party! Silly me should have known...

Anyways since we were in the area we went and rode POTC, with a 10 minute wait we were fine right! Wrong!!! It wasn't even a 10 minute wait a all we did was walk the que and we were about to ge on when the ride broke!?! The ride breaking down counted now as our "10 minute wait" and we were soon on!

We quickly grabbed our strollers and headed back toward fantasyland to redeem our FPs for the ride. It was down for a refurb still on our first day at MK, so we made sure we had a FP+ for it! Thank god we did as the line was a good 60 minute wait. The longest wait time we had yet to see on our 2 days at MK!

We then kept our strollers in the stroller parking as we made our way over to haunted mansion, then doing small world again. We had our next FP for little mermaid. Declan really likes this ride and so does my wife. We then headed back toward BTMM to redeem our last FP+ of the night. We headed toward te mountain and it began to rain again.

We took shelter near the Tom Sawyer island lauch/ mountain exit area, and waited a few while it subsided. We then grabbed a ride switch pass for the rides me and Megan took turns taking Landon on. It was around 615ish and the park was emptying fast. Not a soul on Splash Mountain. Why would they in the rain? We figured we would just stay in this area until the party began and wait for the rain to stop. So while we were waiting I said what the hell, I'm going on Splash!

I literally walked on, no waiting whatsoever! Had a log all to myself! Got back in the loading area and the CMs ask, "you wanna stay on and ride again?" Of course I was wet from the rain, wet from the ride, I'm not going to the let the rain ruin my first Xmas party, so I went again!

I got off my 2 rides in a row and met back up with Megan and the boys. We decided to go start and head out of the area and make our way around as the party would be starting soon.

We grabbed a turkey leg meal, and me and Megan shared te leg as te boys shared the chips! The announcement for the Xmas party went off and we were ready! We needed to stop and get an autograph book for the party so we headed into the store near country bear jamboree, or so we thought!

Some pictures of my solo adventure on splash!
image.jpg

image.jpg

So I go to enter the store and a CM stops me. "The entrance line is that way." Pointing to around the corner. "Line for what? All I need is an autograph book and pen." As I pointed right to the register just past the doors as I saw what I needed. He begins again, "well sorry but the line to get in is down there." "Why is there a line to get in?" "The collectible pins." He adds. "Well I don't need a pin, I just need that book and pen sitting at the register right there." "Sorry but we aren't allowed to let anyone in the store until the party announcement takes place, people go crazy for the holiday pins." I laughed and told him that was stupid and we proceeded to keep walking. We got down over toward the sleepy hollow store and got our stuff there!

We immediately started meeting characters and going on rides! We had a blast! I would Definately do a Xmas party again! We really want to try the Halloween party too...

The drizzling rain sucked, a lot of characters weren't out at first because of it. We wound up in Tomorrowland and went to meet Phineus and Ferb. Of course they go for their break right before we got up there! 2 minutes later, only one came back! "Where's Ferb?" Asked Landon. "I don't know." I said. Knowing he probably wouldn't be back out in time for us as one family was in front of us now. "Maybe he's stuck in the bathroom?" I said. "Ya, maybe he's pooping!" Landon added! LOL as the kids behind us started to chuckle at what he just said.
image.jpg

Since the rain seemed to all of a sudden stop, which was a good sign we thought, we would change plan and watch the first Xmas parade in case the rain came back and the second parade got cancelled or something. We made our way toward Main Street, stopping for hot cocoa and cookies. We found a good spot and waited for it to begin!

Alright, so we made our way down Main Street and found ourselves a decent spot in front of the emporium down near the circle and waited for the parade to begin.

I will apologize in advance for not taking pictures during the parade...I had my son on my shoulders and couldn't really do it, but I grabbed a few when it was snowing.
image.jpg

Yes I know, I suck at taking pictures...
image.jpg

I did however, manage to aquire a photo just before the parade of the people we were by...my wife and I dubbed them "the apple bottom twins" who I believe were actually mother and daughter.
image.jpg

PS: your welcome ;)

So overall we all loved the parade and really enjoyed the snow on Main Street! So glad it stopped raining for the parade! Once it was over, to avoid the craziness of Main Street since we were down so far, we cruised through the Emporium! I actually have never done this before and will definitely remember for next time...great timesaver.

We ended up heading into Adventure land and planned on circling the park once more. I really wanted my dole whip that I had been craving all trip. We walked right over to see the damn place was closed!?! I was so mad at myself...I missed it again...but I had a plan up my sleeve and wasn't going to leave Florida until I got one!

Since it was raining again we hopped in line to meet the fairies. The boys actually had just walked a tinker bell movie on tv right before we left for our vacation. We then met Capt Hook and Smee, and decided after that to seek more shelter from the rain.

We were wet, and my kids were getting tired. Well, Landon was anyway, Declan was wide awake. He knew what he would be missing if he slept through Disney :) we grabbed more hot cocoa and cookies. I overheard someone near us say that capt Jack was going to be out soon. Landon loves the Pirate movies and Xbox Lego game! He was so excited to meet Jack. There wasn't a line at all. There were 2 families in front of us, one being the people we overheard talking about it in th first place.

We waited a good 5 minutes before he came out! He rounded the corner and I leaned down to talk to Landon about him coming, and he was asleep...ad wouldn't wake up!!! Out cold...it was so unfortunate. Well me and Declan went and met Jack, took some photos and then Megan goes, "one more with him, he fell asleep waiting for you!" She pushed him over and jack started playing with my sleeping kid! Posing for pictures, making him do funny things with his arms and such! It was really funny and he was a great character to interact with! And with that, we left the Caribbean and headed over to liberty square to ride the haunted mansion.

Since it was raining some of the characters that were suppose to be out weren't which was a bummer but most everyone made it out at some part in the night, they did however choose to not do the late parade so thank god we made a wise decision in doing it the first time!

So haunted mansion, dumbo an a few characters later we made it back around to tomorrow land. We ride buzz lightyear and decided to start to exit the park. It was still rainy and starting to get cold! I grabbed a BBQ slaw dog from Casey's on the way out! Love that the huge cotton candy counts as dessert here!?! We made our way to the monorail and out to the car.i did however have one more stop in mind before we got back to the hotel!

So as we were leaving the park Landon was still alseep. Declan was asleep within 2 minutes of us trying to exit the parking lot. I said I was on a mission for a dole whip, so I decided to stop at The Poly before heading "home". I parked the car and ran inside to Capt Cooks and grabbed 2 dole whips for Megan and I! I didn't take a picture because I ate mine so fast! It was halfway gone by the time we got back to all stars! I was so glad I finally was able to get my fix in!

We got back to the hotel, filled our mugs, and went to bed shortly after. We had another early morning and our last park day at DHS!

Saturday Nov 16

We woke up very early as we had breakfast reservations at Hollywood and Vine! I know this place gets a lot of flack on here, maybe it's just lunch/dinner that isn't good, but we all enjoyed the breakfast offerings and character interactions!

We arrived at DHS about 755! Kinds cutting it close but The boys were giving us a hard time getting ready...

We raced out of the car and toward the gates as fast as we could! I got past bag check, well the non bag entrance and as I was walking away a CM started shouting for me to come back! I turned around and shouted why? Then the other security officer told her I was good and to keep going! Okay?!?

So we made our way to the early breakfast line and of course the family in front if us was having a hard time with their bands! We got shooed in past them, scanning our bands as quickly as we could! (This park entry would come back later in the Day in the form of another story...)

We raced over to the restaurant and waited about 5 minutes before we got seated! Once we sat down it was about 815. We say down, told my wife to order me and Landon orange juice and we both bolted out of the restaurant and over to sign up for Jedi Training! It was early morning hour at DHS that day so the Jedi sign up started at 8! We made our way in line, and a good 10 minutes later we were signed up for the 1pm show! :) mission accomplished! Landon was so excited to get to do this! We hurried back over to Hollywood and vine and ate and met all the characters twice! The boys absolutely loved Jake and Oso! We started to head out of the restaurant and into a...torrential downpour! Ugh!!!

Of course I had to buy ponchos :( I will remember to go to the dollar store and buy some next time before I go! On another note, November is suppose to be the driest month of the year in FL so we were a little bummed it rained twice now on our trip! No worries though, as we didn't let the rain stop us one bit!

We after the rain let up a little bit it was almost time for Indiana Jones to start! Landon has been obsessed with with him ever since he first got the Lego Indiana Jones xbox360 game a 1 1/2 ago. Earlier this year he finally watched the films and loved them! He loved the show! We had great seats and I really enjoyed it as well as it had been years since I've seen it!

After the show we headed over to Star Tours which had a 10 minute wait, I grabbed a ride swap pass as Declan and I went to take cover in the Star Tours gift shop and Megan and Landon ride the ride. After their journey into galaxies far away, we decided to save our ride swap pass for later and head around the park. We stopped over here and watched the muppets in 3d.

Declan loved it! So we exit muppets and are right near the Phineus and Ferb meet n greet, but they weren't out? We asked the cm standing at their location and they were moved inside the theater back there due to the weather! A short five minute wait, and we were next! For some reason Declan didn't want anything to do with meeting them(even though he just met them last night at the Xmas party) so we went outside right away an waited for Landon and Megan to come out. Declan was kind of starting to act up so that's why I left the theater...LOL

Out they came and off to the Great Movie ride! A short wait and we were on! I do love this ride but wish they would update some of the scenes...

It was now time to head back over for Jedi Training. It was still raining so we don't know if he would get to do the show or not.

Megan and Landon waited with the group and Declan and I waited on a bench just inside the lobby area on the other side. The time for the show was up, and it was still raining :( No show for Landon. I felt bad. He was so excited to do it too. Anyways he still got to meet Darth Vadar and some clone troopers, which made up for it!

We were getting kind of hungry again. I had our first FP+ pick for the day for ToT starting in a few minutes so we headed down that way to eat and ride. Well I would be riding by myself actually as Landon chickened out once he saw it up closer!

We sat and got food, I ate very quickly so I could have my fun! Declan was starting to fall asleep which was good! This was gonna work perfectly! Since I had a FP for all of us, I was going to use both of their bands and get 3 rides in a row! TOT is my favorite ride and this was going to be awesome!

I grabbed Megan's magic band, and then asked Landon to give me his!
"I don't have it." He said as it was nothing?!? Are you frickin kidding me was what I said to myself in my head!!! Just what I need! We figured he had lost it somewhere in the park.
"No I left it in the car." He said.
"What? Are you joking?" I asked.
"No, I never put it on when you told me to!"
I turned to Megan, "how the hell did he get in the park wih you if he reall left it in the car?"
"I don't know, we got pushed through the gates so fast, now that I think of it, I don't think he scanned his band to get in! I did mine and took off so we wouldn't be late to check in."

Are you kidding me!?! So we apparently snuck our child into the park! LOL Landon wa laughing about the whole situation and was kind of acting like heat have been joking, we didn't know? We would be making a trip to GS once I was done with TOT.

2 rides later, I had my fix and headed back toward the fam. This was also the first time I noticed more things inside the tower shaft that I never did before. How new is this stuff? The lightning bolts and "ghosts", I don't know why I never noticed.

I returned to the family and we headed off for guest services to fix our MB problem. Declan was still sleeping so the wait at GS that I was expecting (because everyone on here mentioned longer waits) was not going to be an issue for us. We still had a little time before Disney Jr. Live too.

We arrived at GS and looked at the line. 1 group in front of us!?! I know people have talked about MBs not working or having a terrible time with them but again, we had a great experience with them. I was expecting the worst and this trip to GS was very reassuring that most of the park cms are getting used to the new system just fine, but I did always hear about the wait staff at the restaurants complaining about them more than one occasion.

Literally 2 minute later, a podium opened up, and we headed over. I forgot her name, but a very pretty CM from France was helping us and she was great! Told her our problem and she quickly went to go see if the band was in lost in found? Nope. She told us no problem and got into our account, got his MB number, name, and even asked us if he still wanted a yellow band or a different color! He still wanted the yellow, so off she went and a moment later came back with a new yellow band. She quickly linked everything up, and his new band was set. I asked if his FP will still be fine and she assured us yes!

We left GS after only a few minutes inside with no problems at all getting this sorted out. I was very impressed that she offered my son a color band instead of the grey band I was expecting him to get!
