I liked the BOG surprise. What is up with that couple being on scooters and abusing the privilege? Thankfully they didn't hit anyone else.

I like the trashcan selfie idea, as long as it doesn't interfere with my photo taking. :D

When we ate at Chef's our bread was amazing. I know @Zipitidoda bread was hard and now yours. I'm deducing they don't do a good job of keeping the bread and we lucked out with a fresh batch.

Still enjoying your report! I love that E "surprised" you and that you, being the sweet sister that you are, let her! :) And I love that J is getting so brave at trying out the rides that used to scare him … that was how my son was at that age and now (at almost 15) he keeps dropping "hints" at parks we need to go visit so he can get on as many coasters as possible!

Sorry to hear you were not feeling so great at EPCOT -- that is not the best park for that, especially up by the WS where the Exit can seem so far away … but it sounds like things subsided for you and you were able to recover your fun EPCOT day!

YES @riverside, when we ate a Chef's our bread was horrible and we both had the macaroni and we both thought it was tasteless. Your beef looks delicious though. I may be tempted to give Chef's another try to have that beef dish. maybe....

Sorry you were feeling bad, I hope it didn't last long.
That's exactly what my niece said--it didn't have much taste. The beef was really good. I would definitely get that again.

Thanks! I was better by the next morning(that's usually the way it works:().

I always tell myself that you can't judge a book by it's cover. But with this one(esp. the wife) it was hard. With the way she hit him it was obvious she didn't know how to use it. Frankly, it didn't look like either one of them needed them.

I'll tell E if we're ever in Disney the same time as you that you have first dibs on the trash cans. After all, you started using them as tripods before she started clowning around with them!!

I'm wondering since we were the first dinner seating if ours was left over from lunch?!?
From what I remember our bread at Chefs in July wasn't too hard, it was crusty on the outside but not really on the inside. I remember it being a typical baguette. Maybe we were just lucky with our bread.
We were surely unlucky then....

Thanks!! It was nice to have them there!! That's cute about your son!!

The exit did seem very far away!! I still had fun but I was bummed that the meds hit me particularly hard that day. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen next time!!

I am finally all caught up! Love that you were the cool one knowing about the purple wall! So fun that E & J joined the fun. Riverside looks beautiful. And beignets! May have to try it one of these days.
I loved it too--esp. b/c my family knows I am not "hip" in the least!! Side note--I just found out yesterday that I'm also "old". I corrected one of my nieces when she asked me if I knew how to spit(gross). I told her she is a young lady & shouldn't be doing things like that. She said to me "Well, you're old so....." That's all I heard b/c E's husband was sitting there & started laughing...
Riverside is beautiful--I am so happy when I'm there!! I decided when we go in a few weeks I'm not telling J & I'm just going to go get beignets & knock on their door to surprise him with them. I still feel bad about misunderstanding what my sister meant.
Riverside doing a second TR
Will I follow?

You can count on me

THURSDAY, AUGUST 23RD(CONT.)

One last shot of WS before we left.

Epcot was pretty empty.
IMG_4231.jpeg

We stopped in Mouse Gear(I love that store!!). R wanted me to pick up a grey Nike golf shirt for him that he saw back in June when we were here but unfortunately they didn't have it.
IMG_4232.jpeg

H & I had a FP for Test Track. The FP line was ridiculously long & a storm was coming so I was hopeful that we could get the ride in for H's sake.

The FP line....

We got the ride in but our ride picture never did show up.

Bye SSE--see you next time for Food & Wine!!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 23RD(CONT.)

When we got back back we had a cute note from our mousekeeper.
IMG_4239.jpeg

I thought the way she arranged the towels was neat!!
IMG_4240.jpeg

Same program as the night before. E gave J a bath & H took a shower so I went to get us a table.

There would be no marshmallow roasting this evening due to the weather. Every time(not just this trip either) that we have been at the resort during marshmallow roasting time it has rained & poor J hasn't got to do it. I did it a few years ago with one of my nieces & it's a lot of fun!!

The play area on Ol' Man Island.

Back at The River Roost.
IMG_4244.jpeg

I believe I ordered a Captain's Mai Tai?? At this point I was feeling pretty weak & I stopped taking notes. I do remember that I didn't care for the drink that much--it was too sweet. Also, notice the white bag on the table. I brought the beignets with me. They are nowhere near as good when you don't eat them right away but I knew J would be excited.

By MY niece's definition you aren't old 😉. Several years ago (when she was about 14-15 and her sister 12-13 and my own daughter turning 6) she started to make a comment about her mother being old. I told her to watch it, because I'm the same age as my SIL. Her answer: it's ok auntie, she's old because she has teenagers at home but you don't so you're not old. Two weeks ago I got old 😂

THURSDAY, AUGUST 23RD(LAST ONE)

E & J arrived and E got a Pina Colava.
IMG_4246.jpeg

She got buttered noodles, grapes & milk for J from The Riverside Mill.
IMG_4247.jpeg

If you ever go to The River Roost try the Hummingbird Cake. E, J & I got it once. It's huge & enough to feed 4-5 people. It's excellent!!
IMG_4248.jpeg

E ordered the Bourbon Burger. She said it was really good but she could only eat half. She saved the other half for H.
IMG_4249.jpeg

E went to the store & I gave J a beignet. Whew--I think I redeemed myself!!
IMG_4250.jpeg

Bob always makes his rounds before the show to say hello & get to know people. He had told me the day before that he was going to give J something that night.
IMG_4251.jpeg

He gave him a copy of his children's CD!! That was so nice of him!!

J was having fun dancing away!!

E, J & H headed back a little before I did. I wanted to stay until the end of his first set but with the way I felt I couldn't, unfortunately. I ended up leaving a little before 10.

Is Yee Haw Bob also in Hoop dee doo? I could've swore that someone in the show looked just like him.
I don't believe so. He plays at POR Wednesdays-Saturdays. If you go on his website(www.yehaabob.com) he has his schedules for all the different places that he plays & I've never seen that on there but I could be wrong. Just to be sure I'll ask him in a few weeks when I see him!!

Back in 1997 on our first trip to Disney World we were a party of 10. I remember getting a seat for the parade. A CM approached us & asked us if we would like to go to a special viewing area. She took us up some steps & out to one of those balconies on the 2nd floor. It was such a neat experience!! To this day every time I walk through Frontierland I look up there & think back to that day. I'll have to find my pictures & share them with you. I'm so grateful that we had that opportunity!!

This happened to my family too! Although, I don't remember what year it was (it might have actually been around the same time as you), my sister had braided pig tails in her hair and while we were sitting down waiting for the parade to start, a cast member came up to her and started playing with them. My sister did not like it for some reason and started crying. About 5 minutes later, the same cast member came back up to us and basically asked us the same question and took us to the same balcony!! It was one of the greatest memories I have at Disney World being at eye level with the floats! Loving your report!
