Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

How crowded is it?

If you have to ask, you don’t wanna know.

But we anticipated such, which is why I booked us a lunch ADR here.

Calm, quiet and relaxing.

Em cheers our decision with a Sunset 1971. Tequila, tropical juices, rosemary simple syrup and house-made grenadine.

Her prime-rib French dip with Parmesan truffle fries. Em said the sandwich reminds her of the French dip she used to get at Be Our Guest - back when the restaurant was QS at lunch, not an overpriced three course prix fixe.

My turkey club. Woody had ordered this once and I coveted his sandwich. Real sliced turkey of the bird, Applewood bacon, lettuce and tomato on brioche. It was so delicious but too much for me!

We saw the chocolate Easter eggs and are on our way back to FQ for pool time!

Em and I currently channeling our inner Amy Farrah Fowler and Howard Wolowitz.

So have I got a story about Sweet Caroline and why I hate it … it’s a strong word but let me explain.

Circa mid 2000s I was a youngin, playing in my college pep band and we played a small college in the NCAA tournament called Davidson in NC. They happened to have a fairly unknown player at that time named Steph Curry who led a 2nd half charge to beat us (a fairly large upset). And the crowd went WILD. Being in the band, we left after the team. And then the Davidson band played Sweet Caroline. The entire arena erupted into song, as we, the losing band exited with our heads down. And, in the name of American Sportsmanship, many middle aged men took the opportunity to point and literally scream at us young folks and rejoice their win and laugh at our defeat. Knowing it was one of the top NBA players that beat us makes it much better, but there is something about being surrounded as people point a song at you that makes you not forget it.

On a much Happier note, I hope you enjoy the fireworks tonight!!
