Hi all

I was recently given the CD "The Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion" and I love it! I highly recommend it for all Mansion lovers.
I love how it narrates the story of the Haunted Mansion.
I'm wondering if there is anything similar to this for other attractions or even Disney movie CDs that narrate the story?

Thanks!

Off the top of my head, no... it was made "back in the day." You would, however, probably like "Walt Disney Takes You to Disneyland." It's primarily a music soundtrack thing, but Walt sort of narrates a walk through the lands along the way.

The old Disneyland virtual tour or audio tour for the blind tracks don't have a lot of narration, but they are interesting. There are 45 virtual tour tracks and 7 audio tour for the blind tracks.

If you're looking for attraction flow-thru mixes, there's a great compilation, with 148 tracks, called "50 Years of ImaginEARing" compiled by Rick Conant. It may be difficult to track down, but it's a great compilation of Disneyland audio. I can't find a listing online to link to, and I don't feel like copying the list here. Of course, the DL 50th box set is a must have.

Atually in the day of vinyl there were many many things like this. I have the original HM vinyl which is head and shoulders above the rest of them but here they are:

Pirates of the Caribbean
The Enchanted Tiki Room/Jungle Cruise
The Hall Of Presidents (original show "One Nation Under God")
THe Country Bear Jamboree
it's a small world

These are just a few of them. HOP, CBJ and Tiki were the original tracks from the shows. POTC was a second cast recreation like HM, only HM turned out much much better.

I forget how iasw went.

Hope that helps :)

Oh wow that sounds like what I'm looking for!
But are they available on CD at all, or is there a way for me to get them on CD?

I don't think any of them are available on CD, unfortunately, but you can get the Country Bears record on iTunes. I think MouseBits might have a torrent for the out-of-print Pirates too, but I'm not sure.

That is one of my favorite albums!

All these were available on CD from the now defunct Wonderland music store. You can probably find some of these for sale on ebay.

Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Soundtrack of the Fabulous Adventure - This includes a narrated story in addition to a ride soundtrack and five songs. The voice work is done by Thurl Ravenscroft.

Walt Disney's The Enchanted Tiki Room from Disneyland: The Original Sound Track of the Tiki Room and the Adventurous Jungle Cruise
- The Tiki Room is an attraction mix. The Jungle Cruise is a narrative story, again done by Thurl Ravenscroft.

Walt Disney World's Country Bear Jamboree: The Country Bears at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in a Mirthful, Musical Jamboree
- This includes an attraction mix and six songs, which have been used in WDW in the past.

Walt Disney Presents at the New York World's Fair "it's a small world:" A Musical Tour To Visit the Children of the World - It's presented in the form of a narrative story, mainly to transition between the music cues.

The Hall of Presidents: I only have a digital copy of this, but it's an attraction mix.

I had the Pirates Album as a kid and LOVED it. I would love to get a copy of it. Someone should digitize it for CD (You listening Disney). Even now when I ride Pirates I can hear Thurl Ravencroft's voice for some of the scenes..."the skeleton helmsman forever lashed to his acursed wheel" or "Drink up my boney heartie! That bottle will never run dry". or "C'mer you mangey mutt...Hit him with a soup bone...."

I even setup a room in our basement with a tape of the record and the old MPC Pirates models setup to match the audio. I had the "Zap Action" rigged to fishing line and I'd use a flashlight to light up the right model at the right time. There was a castle that stood in for the fort with a model of the USS Constitution bombarding it. A few tossed marbles provided the cannon effects. Friends got kick out of it. Ah to be 10 years old again.... :)

That's hilarious, cause I made a "ride" using that album too. Made my sister ride around the yard in a wagon while I blasted the stereo...LOL

This may be a good place to check out.

It's been released on CD again, as I have a copy that was sold through the Wonderland store. Perhaps it will show up on iTunes, as the link above is, I think, to an LP rip (and doesn't include the attraction mix and extra songs).
