The Status of Muppet*Vision 3D

That wouldn't make an ounce of sense. Why demolish two areas with large franchise tentpole attractions, when SWGE can be built right next to it, and expand into unused land with zero attractions? As if Studios wasn't bad enough imagine it going without Star Tours and MV3D these last few years.
you would have lost Muppet Vision... but not Star Tours... since all the construction would have been in back of it. and you are right...the park cannot afford to lose any attractions....which is why they could have moved Muppets over to Animation courtyard before they demolished the area...Now it is more confusing with Star Tours by itself, and the muppets sandwiched between it and the rest of the Star Wars franchise.

Wasn't there a rumor somewhere that suggested the Monsters Inc coaster replacing RNRC though?

Yes, and a dumb one. RnRC are cars on tracks. The Monstropolis "Doors Coaster" would have been hanging seats like Pan. Totally incompatible.

That said, A Monstropolis land in DHS was a consideration, but is now indefinitely shelved. Which means it can come back, but insiders say there is no current plan to bring it back as an option, for now.

I feel like this just needs to be saved on the front page of the news/rumors forum; ‘Monstropolis is not happening right now, scare again later’

How about a puppet show in the location formally known as Muppets Courtyard with the Muppet Babies like Great Moments in History?
This actually is an idea that was considered for Grand Avenue. Unfortunately, the catwalks behind the buildings do not meet the safety standards the company needs in order to perform a live show in the modern day. Modifications would be cost prohibitive.

Muppet Babies would have been AMAZING to see in Disney Jr. Live on Stage. Unfortunately, the opening of Dance Party in California showed WDW that they could significantly cut the number of performers a day and save a lot of money if they installed the new show. Now they did go from two actor/singers a day to 4 singer/actors a day, however they went from 12 puppeteers a day to 4 characters - a significant cost saving decision. Dance Party is also lacking the costly puppets and props that required constant maintenance. It was such a shame to lose that puppet stage...

Looking at the Sesame Street area at Sea World you can see a Muppet kinetic theme with items strewn apart the area makes me wish Disney could do something using this idea and also incorporating the full body costume versions of Kermit and friends...
Well... they can't. Years ago Disney was asked to permanently retire the full body Muppet characters. I can't remember if it was by the Jim Henson Company when they still owned them or Muppet Studios... Regardless, those in charge of the brand image at Muppet Studios will probably never allow full body Muppets ever again. The obvious exceptions are the Muppets who already are full body puppets such as Sweetums or Thog - which could still be used to make a cute show.

I guess this is why we see them in their puppet forms during the former voulentEAR parade and Great moments in History..Makes me optomistic of seeing them in other windows down the road at the studios..If they ever go that route..

I think I saw them in another ad (cant remember what) recently. My hope is they keep using them in ads, get the youtube hilarity started again like it was a few years ago (movie reviews, cooking shows). Get people reminded of them and make people want to see them again.
Pretty low budget way to get word of mouth started.
I think the muppet movie a few years ago started interest again, but the second movie and then the tv show squandered whatever momentum they had.
More muppets we see the better in my book.

If the Disney Plus show is a success I hope we get more Muppets in the parks specifically Hollywood Studios.

I’m hoping Disney+ breathes some life into the muppets.... the muppet movie, great muppet caper, and muppet Christmas Carol should all be available... if those don’t make you a muppet fan... what will!?
Disney’s neglect of the Muppets has nothing to do with their actual popularity. US Disney parks have rides based on Mr. Toad, Song of the South, and Dinosaur and WDW is building an E-Ticket based on Tron, all of which I suspect have lower public profiles than Muppets. What Muppets’ needs is a champion in the upper echelon of Disney management, that’s all.

And I think it’s pretty clear how I feel about replacing classic rides, but if someone offered to save Muppetvision by replacing Presidents with the show (or to replace Presidents with a new, AA heavy show based on Great Moments), I’d probably take that deal. But that won’t happen.

Muppets have starred in commercials for hundreds of companies in the forty years they've been around. This is nothing new.
Yeah but, with asking Disney might be different..You hardly see them as often. With Sesame Workshop and the Sesame Street's 50th ads it's nice they are popping up here and there..

Also, did that ad seem like it was going to cross promote the cancelled Josh Gadd Muppet film for some reason?
