I wonder what the new sponser will be.

Speak about big food companies....Does anyone remember Beatrice???
The mega company that bought out every food company in the 80s and at the end of every commercial the lady voice says"Were beatrice"?

I thought kraft was a great fit but cant seem to see anyone else big enough to take over over Nestle.

Well now that I think of it what about ConAgra????

Wow, could this finally be the end to delicious Nescafe' coffee? :lookaroun

Hi :) This is my first post. I just read on screamscape there is a rumor of a Starbucks going into Downtown Disney as well sometime in the future. Could this be tied to this end of sponsorship? I'm a huge Starbucks drinker and I'm also missing my fix when I come to Disney that I have to drink the Nescafe' coffee. I bring my own Starbucks with me to make in the room, it's so disappointing to have to go without when at Disney.

Anything is possible but from my understanding there is or was some bad blood between Starbuck's and Disney.

Ethanol can have other sources, not just corn, etc. They're now making ethanol based from fungus and it apparently has a LOTof potential....for that reason, I don't think GM has to abandon the ethanol idea... yet

Oh no! I avoid Starbucks at all costs too. Granted they are alot more ethical than Nestle but I still question their values. I had heared that they were scaling back expansion but I guess a spot in DTD is a sure thing for anyone.

DD would definitely get my vote. Personally I can not stand Starbucks coffee...far to bitter for my taste. Their espresso drinks are good though.

My thoughts exactly, great specialty drinks, but for regular coffee for masses of people at all resorts and parks, the rich smooth taste of DnD far exceeds the bitter Starbucks (IMHO).

That would be phenominal! Oh man how I wish....

Master Yoda, any idea what kind of "bad blood" or what happened?
I have no clue how true this is but supposedly before Starbuck's was the big name that they are now they approached Disney about becoming their official coffee and putting up stores on property. Disney basically told them to p$%s off and they have been bitter ever since.

Tim Horton's!!! :D Sorry had to get that out. In any chat about coffee, I have to mention Canadian king of coffee.

Anyway I remember reading something on MiceAge about Nestle no longer being a happy Disney sponsor and was going to pull out of Disneyland as well. There was a reason, or at least a rumored one. Anyone know?

I think you might mean algae. And yes it has a lot of potential.

I wish they would shoe horn in a Cars Race Rally clone from Paris or a Luigi's Tire Spin from DCA (even if they had to add onto the building a bit) into the part that is now walled off. They need something in or around that building that has something for people with smaller children who can't ride test track.

Finally, my vote goes to DD in the parks although a Starbucks at DTD makes sense for those who like Starbucks. It can't beat DD though.

I work for GM Europe, and have been in the corp facility at TT many times (but not in the past 2 years), I don't think they intend to pull out any time soon.

Quite honestly it will shock me if it ever goes down to less than $3 a gallon again.

Slightly of the point, but I've just done a quick calculation! :lookaroun

Over here in the UK we are paying (about) £1.15 a ltr. That converts to $8.10 a (US) gallon!!!

Just out of curiosity how much fuel does the average person go through a week in the UK?

I guess they should just change the signs coming off of I-4 to "Welcome to Pixar World" now...It's pretty much the direction things are heading.

I think us Disney traditionalists just have to get used to the idea that everything is moving in a direction different than we're accustomed to and may like. Pixar is where the popularity is, especially since Disney animation is all but shut down (ok, they did do Meet the Robinsons). Same with attractions, 3-D screens and effects have replaced the more costly AA figures that we all tend to prefer.

Whatever they do with Test Track, you can bet it will have character tie-ins and likely not be as "mechanically" intense as it is today with all of the (often not working) effects.

I'd be surprised if The Land gets a new sponsor soon, that seems to be Disney's issue, they can't land major attraction sponsors - especially for existing attractions (ie Universe of Energy, Wonders, Horizons, WoM - had they not destroyed and started over, SSE for quite some time, Space). How Imagination has kept Kodak is beyond me.

I didn't think Nestle was already 10+ years into their deal.

EDIT: I take that back, I could see a sponsor coming on if it included some sole representation within the park of value. So, a food vendor like Aramark or Sodexho who also then gets some sole providership of quick serve restaurants, etc.
