I would still want a thrill ride for Star Wars though. Something that blows away Forbidden Journey and Gringotts *drools*

This park needs so much but they have got to have something for kids and adults that can't do thrill (mind you I'm a thrill junkie) beyond a playground, Meet and Greets and cheesy shows. It is disappointing for families to go to AK and the Studios and find out there are not age appropriate ride attractions. The Studios is heavy (as heavy as it can get without many attractions) on thrill. The Mermaid is yet another show for kids...kids, they don't get the Great Movie Ride. Toy is the only ride I can think of that is a good family experience if you are fortunate enough to get a FP+.

Ahh, family time. The second most annoying thing since the invention of the family itself.

Maybe it's just my family.

How about a first of it's kind state of the art Landspeeder attraction that utilizes a maglev ride vehicle through a Tatoonie landscape that rivals RSR?

That would certainly be thrilling and amazing :) Along with new scenes added to Star Tours to tie in with the new movies that could be a pretty great Star Wars Land.

The prudent course of action for Disney is to skip the whole building the ride, letting it rot, and then closing it and just go straight to hocking the nostalgic retro Landspeeder attraction Ts.

But that is exactly the draw for my family. It is hard to pick a destination when your kids are 5 years apart in age. Mind you my kids are in their 20's now, but it was fun, kept them busy so they didn't annoy each other, the place was clean and we could tune out the outside world for 2 weeks, no driving around, food right there and back in the day I could rent a stroller without taking on a 2nd mortgage. Best yet the kids would be so tired when we got back to the resort they'd crash. Just a nice 2 weeks, either in the fall or winter.

I remember those days. But now it's just me and the 14 year old. The 18 year old is off at college and the Ex is 722.4 miles away (not that I'm counting). And to be honest my family has little interest in new "Family Friendly" attractions, but I understand their purpose. I think a well balanced park has a balanced mix of family friendly attractions, thrilling attractions, and all ages entertainment. There is no purpose for Kiddie rides in a destination theme park resort.

I think kiddie attractions can serve a purpose as long as the park is not targeted to that audience.

If it mixes well with the balance of the park, I think it's good to have something to offer the little ones. These attractions and shows can also be included under the umbrella of family entertainment in some cases.

I remember going to Uni when I was a kid specifically for Barney in kid zone. That was the best thing ever at that time and I'm glad they provided something of that genre.

Something like Ratatouille would be a great fit for this role in an expanded Pixar Place.

The last I heard of Star Wars land, proposals were run up the ladder and the people at the top of the ladder said try again.

Is it possible that the response was more due to integrating content from the new films, which might not be available for WDI at this point? I recall some folks (Lee?) mentioning that there was a significant hold up regarding waiting to use Ep VII and beyond concepts.
