I am always happy to discuss any amazing attraction anywhere in the world. BUT I personally just don't care at all for HHN. I just hate to be scared - yes, I hide under the sofa when I watch movies at home. So, it might not be a burying of heads in the sand for all of us, just a question of personal preference. It is a very specific type of entertainment that is always going to be interesting for a smaller percentage of people than an attraction like Ratatouille in Paris. :)
Yeah I've never been interested in HHN. The only reason this year caught my attention is Alien vs. Predator but even then I'm not sure if I'll go.

As opposed to the large percentage of people who have an opinion on whether "Let It Go" is poppy Broadway or Broadway-esque pop? ;)

But seriously, more people visit HHN on a busy night than visit at least two WDW parks on a busy day. Not saying you have to like it personally, but the failure of the collective to acknowledge it exists shows an unhealthy obsession with a company that purport to hate, rather than a love of theme parks in general.

I've been doing my own reading on HHN outside of the forums. :)

Can't go this year regardless, but maybe the next or some other.

Surely you jest.....:jawdrop:

I mean...Avatar was a poor choice, but...Pokemon?!?!?
I still wonder how the hell this person thinks pokemon fits in animal kingdom.
It has nothing but invented "magical" creatures, that is the only interesting on it.
Avatar in the other hand, as gorgeous world with alien physics, fauna, flora and details

I tend to agree with the success of HHN. Where my DS gets into Mickey's free and goes once generally, mainly 'cause he can, he goes to Horror multiple times (discounted.) Being in his late 20's it fits his taste in Halloween more than Mickey's. They are very different events that aim to different demographics. I'm equally as curious though about the success or failure of Uni's Christian nights vs Disney's, have not heard diddly about attendance at Uni's. I'm happy about Uni stepping up and challenging Disney on some of these events, maybe it will keep Disney from going any cheaper on these special events.

I've never seen a first-hand online report re: either that I can remember. It's that myopia in the fanbase The Spirit himself as alluded to at times.

I've said it before--in Spirited Thread Four maybe?--but the insistence on this community to engage in discussion/debate of trivial WDW minutiae while ignoring the fact that the distinguished competition has an already well-received event with NINE NEW E-TICKET LEVEL EXPERIENCES opening tomorrow strikes me as the ultimate burying of heads in sand.

Imagine if WDW had a preview last night of an HHN-like event. This board would melt down.
But they added Ralph & Goob to the parade tho'!

Universal is a business too - how can they possibly make money??? And HHN are way cheaper than MNSSHP right?

With all the retro things coming out now, I wonder if when this towel was designed and manufactured as a retro Figgy??? Still wonder what they are going to do with that pavilion. It didn't surprise me it was to shut down for a lengthy refurb, unknown period of time and then canceled. Real refurb or way of WoL refurb, still curious.

I want! Mainly 'cause it has Figgy on it now. Though I wish it wasn't white.

Thanks! There are actually some interesting blog posts out there about what was planned for the World Showcase. I think this here might be the most in depth one about the Rhine River Cruise in specific: http://www.imagineeringdisney.com/blog/2012/2/17/rhine-river-cruise-mysteries.html

But there is lot of early EPCOT center history and plans for all kind of fantastic countries out there. It is a lot of fun to read about and dream of what could have been... Maybe more fun than going round and round in circles about whether Frozen is more or less pop than Lion King. :D But then, I really enjoyed talking about Snow White, Tivoli and the Rhine River Cruise. Who is to say whether arguing on a message board is a better or worse way of "waisting" your time than sitting down and watching a football game... ;)
Thanks for the link!

What makes the Rhine River Cruise much more interesting to me than the rest of WDI plans and rumors and lands imagined, is that the show building was actually partially built for it giving it a tangible aspect almost everything else that never happened lacks (except the Japan ride).

Most of the legendaries are derived from global folklore and myth

The great stags, the eagle and root gnawing serpent on the World Tree Yggdrasil in Norse Mythology became the most recent legendaries.

The list goes on and they're all more interesting then how everything on Pandora is just blue six-legged versions of Earth animals.

In the industry at large Halloween events do not get a lot of coverage.

I don't really care for Let It Go in any form. Sure, Idina's voice is powerful, but the "Broadway style" songs are unappealing to me. Too flamboyant and self focused- just like the animated segment. Demi Lovato just proves the market they were going for originally.

And a similar reason why I don't like parades and like voices in some of the entertainment. Different words but the same style of music and voice, grates on my last nerve. Some of the entertainers at Disney have amazing voices that are often overlooked because after a while it all sounds the same. Not the entertainers issue more Disney is stuck in a rut.
