So I'm back at Universal before going home so I can ride Gringotts since I didn't get to at the beginning of my trip and it's down again. This sucks :( I hope whatever bugs they have right now are fixed and the ride gets in much better working order.

So, the summer of 2014 is over ...I know it must be because there were crazies paying $100 on top of a hard-ticket fee on top of a regular admission fee to hang out with foamhead and face villains.

Careful, aren't you a bit fond of Tom Amity's future wife Scarlet? She was there and I'd hate for your calling her crazy, ruining your chances of nabbing her once she comes to her senses and dumps old Tommy. :D

I wonder if he's even been to UNI. You know WDW execs and Imagineers regularly are over there, just like UNI leaders and creatives regularly visit WDW. ... But I really could see him being so into hos role as a BRAND advocate and ***** to the point he never visits any places in O-Town that are not Mouse controlled.
Until someone is willing to pick up the tab and buy him a nice disguise, I doubt he's going to visit UNI. Although the Rickster manages to pimp himself out to every theme park in Florida and So Cal so maybe Luigi should branch out a bit, live a little.

Clearly you've not experienced NY taxes..
I have. I spent a semester of college on Long Island in NY and was so miserable there that I quit and went back to Florida, when the semester ended.

Back then, Florida wasn't so bad. Jeb Bush was doing a great job as governor, the state was trendy and had a party atmosphere. It slowly and gradually became the national embarrassment it is now.

I'll move there in a second to be able to own twice the house for half the price.

I prefer when the people of London play dumb re: the Wizarding World.

Me too. The King's Cross TMs have been great. I don't know if they're still playing dumb or not. It adds a lot to the experience, no question.

The barker isn't ideal, but I can see how it's a problem from an Operations POV. There's no signage for Diagon Alley. Even if there was signage, I'm not sure all Orlando tourists would be clever enough to find it.

Some guests are incapable of reading a map that shows them the park layout while others have difficulty figuring out which park they are in (i.e. guests asking WDW CMs where Harry Potter is, where Spider-man is, etc.).

The barker is dumbing down the experience, but it's Orlando. I can't believe they had the balls to avoid any HP signs in London. (Or maybe JKR had them by the...)

This is the same guy who was on a local Orlando news broadcast to promote the DHS Frozen stuff, and when he was asked about Potter, he laughed and played stupid, saying something like, "I know not of what you speak."

Totally embarrassing shill behavior.

Dude, Tony Baxter was everything that was still right within Disney.
Sad, but true. His legacy lives on in the MK with Splash Mountain and Big Thunder. By the way, they need to add those same upgrades they did at DL with BTMRR to WDW's version. Absolutely amazing! The tracks are smooth and the new effects are awesome! See my trip report under Chit Chat for pics.

Also, our Splash Mountain is the one ride that sticks out as being vastly superior in terms of both show elements and condition, compared to the DL original. But now, DL's BTMRR is has an edge over ours.

I'm discussing these two rides in honor of Tony Baxter.

I have a feeling that he's afraid Disney will drop the hammer on him. I would be too if as it's been suggested here, Disney comps everything for him...which he has denied of course. I've said before, I don't blame him for doing what he does and taking what he gets. It's how he makes his living and by all accounts, is a super nice guy. If he has to play the Disney straight guy 100% of the time to keep things going I can easily see him playing the denial card.
