Right. My point is that you would not eliminate the need to carry "a card" to get your discounts even if the MB had your AP status encoded on it. I do agree that it would be nice if it automatically came up during a transaction though.

Link a photo to the account the way they are at the Disneyland Resort for admission.

You'd have to outfit every transaction point with a monitor to show the picture when the MB is scanned. sorry, but I don't see that happening (isn't the MM+ budget bloated enough?).

Unless there is some way to get a scanned picture embedded on the MB.

Where are you finding vinylmation of pretty high standard? Because every single one I've ever seen has paint blotches, smears, misplaced, or they appear dirty despite being unopened in its box. If that's what a "high standard" is I'd hate to see the low standard.

There have been plenty of vinylmation figures that I wanted to buy until I looked at them and realized that Kermit's eye is smeared, or that cute pink my little pony has a dirty tummy, or the Minnie has blotch paint on her pink dress. Every wile one ended up back on the shelf.

But hey, if quality doesn't matter and you're cool with blowing $8-15 each on them, by all means.

Not to mention arms that fall off. We have a lot of armless "Mickey guys" (my kids' name for vinylmation figures) around the house.

I have always thought they were rather poorly made.

Most of the point of sale terminals already have a monitor.

The big surprise to me was how easily the darn things come off. I had a sleeping kid kick mine off my wrist. Fortunately, I noticed in time to reclaim it. But we were finding lost bands all over. The bus, the pool, the parks. You brush against something the wrong way and they just unsnap.
My family of 4 had the opposite experience. We never lost one on our 8 day trip. The kids slept with them on. I was actually worried that one would get lost and I would have to spend hours with Guest relations getting it replaced. I do think they could have been made more secure and a bit more flexible though.

I figure the majority of people get through their vacation without incident. But I saw enough lost bands to know that a lot of people are losing them. I had to go to the lost and found to reclaim mine. They told me that they recover a lot of bands every day. So they are coming off.

After I recovered the band, I started testing it to see how it happened. It was pretty secure except that if something brushed up against it just the right way, it came completely unfastened. It was really easy to duplicate.

I haven't tried it out on other MBs. A friend suggested some may be more secure than others. Either way, losing them should be a concern.

A word on parking.

It depends on which park it is and who's following the OG.

Example: If i use my AP or a MagicBand at DHS, it gets swiped and I'm asked for ID.

If i use the Band at Epcot, it gets swiped. If i use my AP, they wave me through.

If I go to DAK? Well i havent been to DAK since these things came into existence.

MK Parking? Milage varies. Usually I hop a boat from Lodge.

I know about FJ. I visited Uni last Sept when I came down to WDW for the Villians party. Loved loved loved Hogsmeade. And I'm not sure I can wait until 2017/2018 to visit Diagon Alley. :cautious: There might be another solo trip to Orlando in my future. haha

He's also not a big Simpsons fan (truth be told, I have not been into the Simpsons in many years) so I don't know how much he would enjoy Moe's (aside from the beverages). He is however very much into Marvel and comics -- and I think he would enjoy Uni. I just need to persuade him to go.

I am glad I don't have that problem. More entertainment for everyone with both. Our next trip will either be split or completely at universal. Our last trip to wdw was like opening a bag of do riots and finding out they're stale. Nothing new was impressive or fun for us. The only noteworthy part of fantasy land was the pork shanks.

I think that's fair, but you would have to also carry a photo ID to confirm your identity. Otherwise, people could "share" bands with friends for the discounts.

You have to show ID now, so that would remain unchanged

I'm not sure how they are going to validate my AP against my ID since my AP just has my first name written on it with a sharpie. I don't believe the POS systems can scan a card or a band and get guest info (if they could, the card would not be necessary).

Like @PhotoDave219 I have been scanned and ID'd hit or miss at all of the parking gates. DHS seems to be the most strict about it.

Wow.. that video really looks way better and fits the rat very well.

I still shake my head.. WHAT THE HELL WHERE THEY THINKING when they made that awful "hip" dwarf commercial?
As usual, I find myself going against the grain here, but, I liked the Dwarfs ad much better then the Rat ad. At least the Mine had a feeling of reality. I saw nothing in the Rat ad that even slightly made me want to see it. Looks like it is all screens. To each his own, I guess.

It depends on park and the manager and how the cast members were trained.

I just don't get Disney's bloated construction prices. Has anyone thrown the word embezzlement out there yet, and if not, can I be the first to wave that flag? I understand WDI is like the bully of building, but come on, it's like they're holding themselves and their parent company hostage. There's absolutely no reason why NFL ran over the 500m mark. Are they paying the construction crews extremely well? Solid overtime pay? I highly doubt they are using the best of the best construction materials.

Does anyone know the breakdown of that 500m dollars? How much WDI got, what the total construction materials were, the crews? I'd be very interested in seeing this divvied up.

Maybe I've been watching too much Orange is the New Black but something just isn't sitting right with that total cost.
Like any other dollar number bantered about on the boards. It is a guess, no one, outside of the accounting department and the BoD has the exact cost. Even then there are so many "tricks" used to avoid taxes that they are merely a smoke screen. So, there is no explanation available for a fictitious number.

I have no love for potter but i was loving that section of the park, much more impressive than new fantasyland.
That is where I am not sure. To me, dare I say it, New Fantasyland comes off as more 'original'? See, to me, Potter has recreated what we have all seen in the movies (exceptionally well I might add), but is there really anything new or original? New Fantasyland took images seen in the older animated movies and created something 'new'. Again, to me, that is more impressive. I will state this again, however, I really love how Universal captured Hogsmead and cannot wait to see Diagon Alley. Now, if one of these two would get off their butts and purchase LOTR rights and give us a Shire, Mordor, Rivendell, etc. well then, yup, there it is.

Edit - Just want to point out that in comparing Hogsmead to NFL, I am going off the look of the lands, not the ride content.
