Fantastic. So what's that address again? I'll be right over.

My grandmother as a child told me (and had me fully convinced) that turnips are potatoes. She called them turnippotatoes and I gleely ate them. Apparently once she didn't mention the potato part and I refused to eat it. Smart woman. Carrots and parsnipcarrots are also in the same family.

I understand why disney can't have a baked fries option, because of huge crowds (and they do take forever to bake versus five minutes in a deep fryer) but I don't understand why they don't have a bigger push towards a piece of fruit, or like our awesome @ford91exploder does, offer something else instead of French fries. I Would love to see them add rutabaga, turnips and other veggies to their lineup.

But it doesn't really matter so much when the shoppe next door has an apple on a stick coated in sugar, then another layer, then another, marshmallows, sprinkles, and then a sugar glitter for good measure.

Even thing about one candy apples makes me drool. Yep, I'm hooked.

A baked fries option would be wonderful, They could even be flash frozen and heated in a microwave as there is no grease to make them soggy. I can't see the Rutabaga fries making a big hit with the H/B/B crowd - but F&W might be a place to introduce them.

Are rutabagas similar to turnips? Seriously, I have an honest question. What is the definition of a fanboi? I have a pretty good idea of what it means, but the word, or term, does not make a lot of sense. I am not trying to be clever.

A fanboy is someone who generally only likes products from a particular brand and has a hard time finding fault with anything that company produces. Extreme brand loyalty. For example an Apple fanboy will mostly only buy Apple products. A Disney parks fanboy only likes Disney parks and rarely finds anything at fault with them.

Changing fanboy to fanboi is a specific knock on Apple fanboys by changing the y to an i.

I too would love a baked fries option, even more around home (McDonald's or something) than at Disney. Don't see why it wouldn't be possible even in the parks, just need a large oven to hold dozens of large trays of fries at a time.

While it is fine to offer fruit or something as an alternative for those who might want it, it is also perfectly fine to splurge when on vacation and eat whatever you'd like. What matters is your diet the 51 weeks of the year that you aren't on vacation; Unless there is a medical condition (diabetes) or something to watch out for, your diet at Disney isn't really going to make a difference in the long term. Your vacation is your chance to have that double bacon cheeseburger with two orders of fries; You can "pay" for it by eating healthy back home. Where baked fries have just gone onto tonights dinner menu... :)

You are also going to walk a gazillion miles all over the parks so you earned that bacon cheeseburger:)

That's how I look at it! Give me the grease and junk anyday on a vacation LOL. That's why cruising is a great way to vacation ... one of the many reasons why.

Fanboi & the plural fanbois?

First.... It's not complementary. Imagine, if you will, legions of Irrational reactionary people. People who love a particular thing, person, object, whatever, to a level that goes against all common sense. People whose initial reaction to any questions of that thing are to lash out in anger.

By far, the Epcot fanbois are by far The most vocal of these.

Then why do I get the impression that a Disney fanboi (not fanboy) ls a great fan of Disney, but takes great pleasure in pointing out what is wrong with everything to do with the parks and the company?

I think the Disney fanboi talked about on this board is the equivalent of a pixie duster. Someone who views WDW through rose colored glasses. Everything at WDW is great and everything at Universal is garbage.

The EPCOT fanbois that Dave is talking about are obsessed with the EPCOT Center of old and lash out whenever something is proposed to be changed to the original park.

Basically the same thing…

dont forget the "Bash anything that is not their loved brand regardless of information at hand".

Like for example: You can have a clear superior product in another brand, but the fanboy will dismiss it from bogus and vague causes and insult anyone who switched to the new brand.
