$20 million, massive capacity = E-ticket, whether you like the attraction or not.

It is the same reason why people think TSMM is anything more than a c-ticket, or Soarin' is anything more than a D-ticket....

I always thought an E-ticket ride was related to a)how advanced the ride was and inversely b)how costly it was to maintain.

So AI only fits 1 side of a dirty old coin.... AI is not an E-ticket

(Before anyone asks, don't know this kid, but given his resume, probable only a degree of separation.)
For those folks who think poor people don't work hard enough or poor people like to be poor.
This is the time to talk about how you will do work that wears you on physically and emotionally and you will never make enough money to live comfortably. Every day will be a struggle. You won’t live paycheck to paycheck. You will have money every Thursday-Sunday. Then you will have zero money Monday-Wednesday until it’s Thursday again. There’s are many weeks where I had to live on very minimal food. I began working six days a week, most of the time over fifty hours, and I could not come close to making ends meet. That was hard. That shot my self confidence and raised my anxiety level to unimaginable points. I was almost evicted from my apartment and my credit has been ruined just trying to survive on Disney money. Let me reiterate the point that you will NEVER be able to live a stable life financially while working at Disney World. And it’s finally getting media attention. Time Magazine published an article about the homelessness problem of Disney Cast Members while financial papers have been posting scathing reports that well over 20% of full time cast members at Disney World live well bellow the poverty line. I watched people get fired because they didn’t make enough money to have gas to get to work. The people who work here don’t have the money to come to work so that people can vacation here. Think about that next time you’re on vacation.

A valid point, but one I think has been discussed here to death before. I was more shocked on the pure and simple failures by management. How do you allow a crowd to chant "You suck" at a front line employee, let alone reward them? How do you allow a ride to run with no working effects?

When i read this i was in shock. Especially:
Here are storied about guest getting Fastpasses from managers after they punched frontline cast members in the face after getting caught doing something wrong. There are stories of managers ignoring the rules in order to appease an angry guest. There was a near riot last Fourth of July when a guest lead the entire standby cue in chanting “YOU SUCK” at the cast member merging the fastpass and standby line at Jungle Cruise. The guest who started the riot spit on the cast member. When a manger got there, they gave the guests Fastpasses and ice cream.

That's what she said. (A little throwback Thursday humor for you.)

I was about to tie this all together and realized I'd either get the thread locked or get black listed. We'll just say that between "what she said", "giraffe tongue", "water proof Magic Bands", and "hot tub", this can only get a whole lot worse....or better depending on your preferences.

Which bar and resort are we wrapping this thread up at? Need to book my flight. :D

Erm no, TDO gets to 'review' the budget and they have veto power over what gets built, Burbank CAN override a TDO veto but usually does not.

I'm no insider, but I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. According to @PhotoDave219 TDO doesn't even exist anymore so it would be pretty hard to veto anything;). I'm pretty confident the only person who can veto Staggs on this project is his boss. Once the expansion opens then park operations and maintenance get involved, but not in the design and construction phase.

Disney profits up 7%, I need 7% more hot tub time

I was thinking more like "I need a Hot Tub Time Machine" so I can travel back to when I could afford WDW. In fact, now that I think about HTTM & WDW, there are a lot of points in common. Perhaps that's the next film to make, we all head down there, get drunk in a hot tub at Wilderness Lodge, dump some illegal Russian energy drinks on the timer, and travel back to the hey day when Eisner was cool and the resort rocked!

If there's one thing that could be an eye opener on that blog post to this forum (as stuff like lazy maintenance is already well known and documented), its how absolutely abysmal WDW "guest service managers", the ones directly in charge of the front line cast, can be.

It's not without some bitter exaggurations, though. Like:

You would be scheduled 12+ hours on holidays and your holiday bonus would be a plastic christmas ornaments which probably cost them around fifty cents to make.
Actually, Cast Members get holiday pay for working on holidays, and the real holiday bonus is a big packet full of free or extremely discounted experiences around WDW.

I know. The state of Pirates in particular was startling (it's easy to see why there's mold in Small World and Maelstom).
There's just a small, vocal contingent here who have utter contempt for cast members when the topic of compensation, or the lack thereof, is brought up. There used to be a time when management believed that employees should earn enough to purchase the goods/services they produce.
